  1. yes I was wrong, doesn't seem like I was to wrong about folks wanting a change...
  2. From some Alcoa faithful, Rankins wife axes the deal for him to be the next head coach at Catholic, sighted many issues but, the word is she is big time baptist, thats coming from guys that claim to be close to the situation, I am suprised.
  3. I'm telling you Rankin will be the man at Catholic.
  4. I think most of the supporters want a clean start, not saying he's not a good coach, its just time for Catholic to move on into a better place then we have been the past four years.
  5. Gary Rankin will be Catholics next HC, the search is done the job is filled so set back and wait for announcement...
  6. Total outside observer, I was blown away how the DB fans acted as if they should have the right to come into Maryville’s house and take seats as if it was deserving, then the band thing that was probably such a huge inspiration for the Maryville players, another team comes into their house and does their pre game thing, there is a reason why it doesn't happen all the time, because its classless... DB certainly had some fast players and good players but as much of this area has come to find out so does Maryville. The few DB fans I spoke with were very nice people but, really guys show up play the game it's not won with your band marching in and acting as if they own the place. Maryville fans you guys as always show allot of class about your program and respecting other community schools that comes to play and then when you come to our house, have never seen your drum line doing the pre game thing they do at others venues, I was just blown away tradition or not have some class.
  7. I was told from a very good source that it is down to two , one in town and one out, no matter who it will be it can't get worse. The new district looks to give us some hope, we should be in the top three every year...
  8. Might ask Patrice, seems to have answers, she was really on with all the post on how everyone was on same page as her, don't see Rankin coming due to all the issues that have been listed, the word is the OC is a pretty serious opition.
  9. I think that is where the problem lies, a coach like Rakin is most likely going to want a staff that he puts together, moving down will change some things for us but, it doesn't resolve all the issues that we will still be faced with over the next year or so, our program as to get the numbers up with players that can play because Fulton, Greenville, and others have big numbers on their teams that can play and we are going to have some young guys playing next year.
  10. I heard that the OC was going to be the guy, just a rumor though
  11. Best thing that has happen for our program since 2008, this is great news considering our move to 4A,
  12. This will be a great game for the Irish to get a much needed win, is there any chance to make the playoffs?
  13. Once again we are talking about two different things I agree our school is awesome, its our football program that I have been talking about the entire time, stop trying to say I am talking about our school because I am NOT, my post are 100% about the football program that use to have respect, not the school. One would think with our numbers up that our football team would have a few more numbers. facts #1 Like Pep said 50 fans, well maybe 100, #2 regardless of everything our team looked to be lost the past couple games, #3 our kids never acted they way they do under the old coach, respect of a team has nothing to do with how many games we win but, how people view the product on the field, lets just stay the course because it has been working so well.
  14. Those were the facts that were listed on the WB web site, besides I said pretty good, I may not know much about football but I do know a good leader when I see one, also Patrice you may want to watch throwing those rocks because the recruiting issue is everywhere. You still miss the point the article talked about a school moving up and playing well and yes they may have recruited a player, the point is if anyone watched us Friday night and thought for one that we looked like a well coached team then say it, two does our traveling support look like a program that has great buy in, and three Patrice you need to try and bully someone else because when I get ready to revel who I am I will and I can assure you missy you will not be so excited to act as if you are the voice of the pack, you may be able to bully some folks but, I can assure you I am not one of them. You need to stick to your emails for the booster club.
  15. 2008 S. Meadows 1-9-0 2007 S. Meadows 9-3-0 2006 S. Meadows 7-5-0 2005 6-5-0 2004 S. Meadows 3-7-0 Overall at WB 26 and 29 pretty good...
  16. SS thanks for the input but, you make the same case as I do, we don't have the same talent and that is directly do to the direction of our program, someone posted about the 8th grader that went to a rival school after playing for Catholic's 8th grade team, that is exactly what I have been posting about. During that 8th graders playing time his dad was allowed to do pre-game speeches full access to the program and after seeing how things were run he eliminated Catholic out of the running and took his son were he thought best for him, reminder this is after a full season of total access to our program, if we were doing the right things his son would have been here. For all the believers of our program not being able to compete with the big boys may be interested in this. Although it had been dominant in smaller classifications for more than 20 years, Brentwood Academy's decision to play up three classifications, then winning yet another football championship against the state's largest programs, was simply too much to ignore. The Nashville-area power had drawn too much attention to itself by beating schools with more than twice its enrollment, and with football driving many of the decisions by the TSSAA's rules makers, the Eagles' 5A title in 1995 was all the proof the public schools needed that they no longer could compete for state titles. This is just a small part of the article in the Chattanooga Times, link is below if you want to read the full article. Just goes to show you, with the right coaching anything is possible http://www.coacht.com/tennessee/article.cfm?id=385069
  17. Wow, can any of you guys call into Catholic and give the admin some of these views, better watch out or Patrice will be giving you a lesson on why we are so great, I am a very proud Irish supporter but this has become comical, last night was like watching a team that cared more about the hype rather than the play and that comes straight from the head coach and the entire coaching staff, when our kids make great plays they act just like our coaches, jumping around and strutting as if something spectacular just happen, Irish let’s just play and forget all the extra theatrics. Great hits, big tackles don't win games, lining up and executing as a team wins games and we just are not at that point right now AND THAT IS NOT OUR KIDS FAULT.
  18. funny you guys see these things but, the only ones that don't realize whats up are the parents of players everyone else has a hard time to travel and be at a game like this one tonight, sad for the boys but I am sure we can talk about how we are playing out of our league, may I ask if we look like a well coached team.
  19. I want to say the Maryville team really shows allot of class, plum69 it's funny you ask that question and you’re not even a Catholic guy, you should see it from our side. I for one appreciate the class you guys showed us tonight considering our coaches act as if we have won everything with the smallest success, Maryville coaches are some of the most relaxed I have ever seen, we could learn something’s, thanks for the hospitality.
  20. If you are just looking at the numbers. Webb 453 Catholic 695 Farragutt 1,728 . Maryville 1,445 West 1,244 LC. 1,242 Knox Central 1,117 Cleveland 1,357 We lose to the smallest school for the past four years, so if numbers are the factor here then I guess Webb should be moved up and get out of the private league, the number argument is a matter of making excuses, forget the wins and losses look at the numbers and compare and if we can say our program is going in the right direction then fine but, I think most everyone see's we have taken a few steps back regardless of schedule or teams we play. Yes those schools are bigger, doesn't mean they are better, all I am saying is let’s get our respect back and if that means a new coaching direction then so be it, if that means that we go to private that's fine as well but we haven't been able to beat their elite either so what makes us think it’s just the division that we play. No doubt we are out manned but as I have posted there was a day that we just played without excuses.
  21. let’s see give money send my kids here and support our youth, it seems to me that you guys are missing the point if you want to make things better then stop trying to make it seem as if this is about the entire Catholic school, here is a clue I don’t, as many support the direction of the football program, I have merely said we have lost respect in regards to our program and yes there is allot of people walking around saying the same things I have said on this forum. GET THIS IRISHBALL AND WHOEVER ELSE WANTS TO REPLY, Catholic is a great school and we do have some great things happening but, when it comes to our football program we have taken a direction that doesn't fit what we expect of our sports programs. So get over yourself and deal with the issue rather than trying to make it about the whole school, this forum is about football and my post have been about getting us back to the respect level we once had AND THAT IS IT.
  22. touched a nerve of a supporter, maybe you need to listen a bit you may just learn something about how many folks feel we need a new direction, never said our school isn't great never have downed our kids, I said we have lost the respect of the community when it comes to our football program, so whoever you are get your facts straight, I am a huge supporter of our school and kids, My point was we need a new direction with our FB program and I can assure you there is plenty of folks that feel the same way, so don't get on your kick about supporting the school when all I am asking? Is when are we going to get back the respect we once had. As far as the 8th grade team, I am just repeating what others have said. I hope we get moved down as allot of us do but, as I said in earlier post there was a day when we just played without the excuses.
  23. I wish he would pack back up if he has and so does everyone else except the folks that brought him in, I guess they thought he done something at Alcoa, I think there is a bunch of coaches that could go over there and win games, just saying.
