  1. that is not an easy schedule. not to mention that no one is willing to play us within a 150 mile radius. thanks to hendersonville who is not scared to play every year. 6 of those teams were in the playoffs last year. this will be a tuff year. we will be replacing a 3 year starter at QB. the freshman team had alot of talent and the incoming freshman have alot of talent. we will probably be down a little this year, but will compete in every game.
  2. I went up and got to meet alot of the players. Nick and Rian are both great young men. They were all super to be around. Good luck to all of them in what ever they decide to do in their next journey.
  3. Dillon Woodruff from Riverdale, made a verbal comit to Furman last Thursday. Congrats.
  4. Congrats to Brent Stockstill, Tae Martin, Chris Holcomb, Denzel Harding, Austin Barrett,John Simpson, Antonio Allen, and Peyton Phillips.
  5. Thank You Workinprogress for the hard work you put in, we need more role models like you willing to go out and do the work and not just talk about what needs to be done. You have to excuse LOD, he is the most knowledgable person and can do no wrong, and knows more about running a football program than Nick Saban, just ask him.
  6. top three players next season, Mariko Odom, denzel harding and emmanuel smith
  7. top skill position players. Brent stockstill, cole notgrass, emmanuel smith, peyton phillips, denzel harding, tae martin, scottie boykin, dillon woodruff, antonio allen. give me these guys and about 10 of the counties top lineman and some good skill backup players and we have team.
  8. when did Williamson county schedule riverdale for homecoming? Rutherford county is having a hard time getting anyone to play them. Riverdale had to travel to Memphis, Cookeville and Louisville to complete their schedule the last two years. the booster club did fine the previous two years but had a little bad luck this year with the firework stands. I believe it was a drought. I think Riverdale dominated the two district champs they played in playoffs and I am sure Oakland and Blackman could have done a little better had they not had to play Siegel first two weeks. a lot of what you talk about is this generation. most kids would rather get out and work a job and do the social thing. a lot of kids quit because they can't handle the 3 hour practices and the work they have to put in before season. not to mention there is 7 six A schools within 15 minutes of each other and Eagleville drawing some of the players. why do you think Rankin left Rutherford county. talent is getting spread thin. what would it be like if you still had Riverdale and Blackman in one school and Siegel Oakland still one. Imagine what talent on those teams.
  9. I don't think they are any where close to being with Lavergne. they were 13-1 just last year. have been to the semi final twice and quarter finals twice the past four years. Lavergne wish they were that bad.
  10. LOD, I don't think the QB got hurt because of O-line. he was running mid-line and was running ball. I guess Stockstill got hurt because of his line also. I don't agree with everything coach A does but he does care about the kids and what they do after high school. and as far as freshman, they practice every day with varsity and JV and get as many reps. after the freshman season one kid even started on kickoff to relieve other kids.
  11. Siegel did run a hurry hurry, but now not so much with a QB and a # 1 receiver with torn ACL. wish Maryville could have got them at full strength. also heard that siegel coaching staff was at Maryville game on district 7's bye week. siegel has been preparing for this matchup since week 7.before injuries they would snap ball about every eight seconds. a lot like Oregon.
  12. Good article on Brent Stockstill in DNJ.com this morning. Looks like he is going to give it ago. Good luck to both teams friday night. Hope to make game. Should be a good one. Maryville you are a Beast, no arguing your success.
  13. Yeah Hacker, Indianapolis colts were not banged up as much as you think last year without Peyton Manning, and we see where they were. Your best two players have torn ACLs, i would say thats pretty banged up. Maryville fans aren't going to get much out of the Siegel nation, this is all new to them. they do not have the following yet. most of their fans are there to watch the Band.
  14. true maryville beat smyrna without their QB in the second half, but smyrna was also missing some key players that whole game on defense that would have made a difference. This is a beat up siegel team, but they will bring a fight.
  15. I don't think keeping Maryville guessing is the plan. This is not a tebow situation, where you can change your whole offense to fit one guy. Siegel will have to run what they have been running all year, and without Brent Stockstill it want be as effective. Their number one receiver is also playing on a bad leg, so he is only about 65-70 %. They do have a stable of running backs, so i would say game plan may move more to a running game.
