  1. I think it's been talked about, but I don't know if Coach Gatewood would want to put another non-district game on the schedule with a team in a lower classification even if it is Alcoa. He has a history of playing other teams within the classification or playing up. EH already has Signal on the schedule and they are 4A. Alcoa, Dobyns-Bennett, Oakland, Blackman, Oak Ridge are all teams I would think are in the running as one of the non-district games for EH. Signal Mountain and Maryville being the other two. I think Rhea Co. might stay on the schedule as well, but it wouldn't surprise me if Gatewood dropped them for one of the teams I mentioned. If I had to make a prediction for the non-district games for EH in 2015, it would be: Signal Mountain Dobyns-Bennett (Toss Up) Maryville Alcoa
  2. I wouldn't be surprised to see East Hamilton v. Maryville on the 2015 football schedule. It would be a bigger surprise to me if that game DIDN'T happen. I think Alcoa would have been an option if East Hamilton was still in 4A, but I'm not so sure now that EH is in 5A.
  3. You sure are talking a lot of trash for someone that supports a team (William Blount) that hasn't had a winning season since 2007. We get it. You play in a tough district. Stop riding everyones coattails. Btw, you're one of those "weak" teams in your own district.
  4. You truly have no clue what you're talking about. Maryville beats all of the teams they play from those districts. In the past three years, Maryville has a combined record of 44-1, 2 State Championships and has beaten these teams: Cleveland Alcoa Knox West Oak Ridge Sevier County Knox Catholic Farragut Dobyns-Bennett Siegel Blackman Hendersonville Bradley Central Knox Webb Riverdale Science Hill Whitehaven All of those teams are in tough districts and Maryville handled them. 15 State Championships speaks for itself. You're just talking. The reality is: Maryville plays those teams you claim to be "good" and they beat them every year. And, if you'd actually scrimmage or play them, you would know they win without all the D1 athletes. Heck, they beat you with NAIA guys. Their program deserves respect. To act as if they're some fly-by-night operation shows how ignorant you are. Btw, their only loss in the past 3 years came in Cookeville by 1 point on a controversial call. Heck, their only losses in the past 10 years have come to either Alcoa or in the State Championship game. You think you know, but you have no idea. Maryville is the gold-standard in Tennessee. They do things the right way, whether you believe it or not, and they are extremely successful. Show me the success of these "other teams" you're talking about. Name them. I'd love to hear of these other schools with as much success as Maryville over the last 20 years.
  5. Bradley has been run off their own field and East Hamilton's field the last two years. Combined score of 82 - 18 in favor of EH in their two most recent meetings. But that's history... Bradley is notorious for starting fights in scrimmages. The only people that say otherwise are Bradley folk. They love taking cheap shots, hitting after the whistle, and talking trash. If you don't believe it, ask any team that scrimmages them.
  6. Is that why the Owls dropped the next 3 games after they played East Hamilton last year? This is Ooltewah's Super Bowl. It was obvious last year and it's obvious again this year considering one of the first things the new head coach said when he got to the Owl's Nest was that he wanted to beat East Hamilton. Don't front, playa.
  7. You need to check the tape because none of them were "obvious". I've watched the tape and I saw it live. The WR's arm was never held or trapped on any of the alleged Pass Interference calls. It's NOT Pass Interference to simply be near the WR while the ball is in flight. It's football. The Walker Valley Alumni Referee Crew bailed the Mustangs out on multiple occasions. I counted 12 for EH with one long TD being called back. The same thing happened when Walker Valley played Sequoyah last week. Big penalties on Sequoyah in crucial moments. Suspicious? It's easy not to quit when the referee's are giving you 15 yards on every pass play regardless of whether the ball is caught or not. There were only one or two occasions where WV didn't catch the ball that Pass Interference wasn't called. Check the tape.
  8. MAYBE 1 or 2 of them were SOMEWHAT deserved. The other two weren't even close to anything resembling Defensive Pass Interference. One of them was clearly OFFENSIVE Pass Interference and the other was a blatant flop by the WR in the End Zone. BTW, according to the rulebook, there is no such thing as "uncatchable" in high school football. "That one kid" didn't grab the receivers arm AT ALL on any of the P.I.'s, thus, no such thing was "obvious". Check the tape. Walker Valley deserves credit, but not 35 points worth of credit. You can chalk 14 of those points up to the Walker Valley Alumni Referee Crew. But I guess you're trying to tell me that the AWAY team being penalized by a 3-4 to 1 margin over the HOME team isn't home-cooking, right?
  9. I think 600+ yards of offense and 8 touchdowns is bordering on juggernaut-ish, but you can't please everyone. Blame the Walker Valley alumni Referee Crew for the closer score. East Hamilton had more Pass Interference penalties called on them than Walker Valley had total penalties. I'd say EH was penalized 4 to 1 over Walker Valley.
  10. Both of the "Chop Block" calls were legitimate. #56 was the high blocker and #79 was the low blocker on both occasions. Check the tape. It isn't illegal to bump a player after he has signaled for a fair catch and caught the ball. The Fair Catch protects the returner from being tackled or blocked. There was no intent behind it. The EH player pulled up a little late and barely bumped the returner. The Referee's called a solid game. Signal had 4 penalties. East Hamilton had 1 or 2. Can it get any better than that or would you like to cry some more about the ref's not bailing you out? Signal was stopped twice on two point conversions, had a muffed punt, gave up a kickoff return for a TD, and had a field goal blocked. Might want to brush up on those SPECIAL TEAMS if you want to win close games. It is 1/3 of the game, remember? Signal played their A+, "best defense ever" game and had the most atrocious special teams performance. That equated to a loss for you Uppity Chickens.
  11. You should look in a mirror or, at least, read what you type here. You've been in dire need of an "awakening" considering the sheer volume of bull puckey you post on a regular basis. But keep talking. Make up whatever illogical reasoning you want for not putting East Hamilton near the top of the region. You're just pouring gasoline on that 'Cane fire.
  12. That same 4A team dominated a healthy Bradley Central team 41-7 in the 4th game of the season last year. That same 4A team played the all-mighty Owlettes to within 3 points. If you don't put that former 4A team at the top of the district, then you're just plain stupid. You're just stoking the fire, sweetheart. And, let's be clear, "studs" on paper are a dime a dozen. Personally, I don't give a rats behind what Murphy has to say about any "studs" or pre-season picks. You can keep banking on that meaning something. See where that gets you at the end of the year. The game is played on the field. And that time is coming.
  13. Last week of workouts until the 2-week Dead Period. Hopefully, the CANES will use those two weeks to rest, but also stay in condition by running and working out on their own. It's always hard to self-motivate when coaches aren't around, but the kids that do it will have a leg up on those that don't. How the kids approach these next three weeks will be a great indicator for how the season will play out for the CANES in 2013. 68 days until the season kicks off!
  14. It would be nice if they would just get the track down around the field. It would really make the field look so much better. Surely EH has enough funds to get that done before next year! EH has so much potential to look really great. A nice field house with a real, full-sized weight room, a nice track, more Home stands built into Hurricane Hill and a larger Away side. But thats just a dream right now...
  15. I know what it means. You don't...but keep moving forward.
  16. What negative energy do you speak of? The Owls are getting a late start if they aren't starting until June 3rd. Everyone else in 5AAA started today.
  17. You obviously don't know what "sleeper" means.
  18. Several in track as well. I'd say the Canes will be missing about 10-15 players during spring practice.
  19. Your "herd of turtles" had 248 yards dropped on them. How many times did Logan Jackson run by the entire Owl defense? Your kid had ONE long run and you're calling the EH defense a "herd of turtles"? You need to get off the meth, psycho. The Canes have no eligibility problems. I encourage you to keep banking on previous wins to mean something in 2013. You fail to realize what you're doing by continuing that charade. Please keep it up. As if the Canes didn't have enough fuel on the fire!
  20. See what I mean? You're just showing your ignorance about football. You're the one that can't think out of the box. How could you with your head so far up your Owl behind?
  21. Or a 5-2. Or a 4-4. Or a 3-3-5. Or maybe a 5-3. Your football knowledge is lacking, Passive. Why are you so worried about who has the edge?
  22. That scrimmage is not occurring during the Spring. East Hamilton doesn't scrimmage during Spring practice. Too many multi-sport athletes.
