  3. Gatlinburg-Pittman defeated Dickson County 79-74 to win blue bracket of SMC.
  4. I believe that the only factor was teams that were willing to only play two games instead of three. The "bye" was not determined by any type of seeding.

  6. Haris Price, a junior from Gatlinburg-Pittman High School should be considered for AA Miss Basketball. Haris averages 16 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game from the point guard position for the 21-3 Lady Highlanders. Haris' ability to break down pressure, distribute the basketball, get to the rim and finish, and light it up from beyond the arc make her special. Haris has been called "un-guardable" and a "top three point guard in the state in any classification" by opponent head coaches this season. If you get a chance to watch the Lady Highlanders play, you'll enjoy it. Playing in the very East of Tennessee, Price doesn't garner as much attention as deserved from media but IS drawing the attention of many Division I schools already. As a junior Haris has tallied 1,097 points and 391 assists thus far.
  7. Gatlinburg-Pittman High School is looking to fill the final spot in it's 16 team tournament held December 19th-22nd. The tournament guarantees three games. Please contact Coach Katie Parton at katieparton@sevier.org or 865-680-6443 if interested.
  8. Gatlinburg-Pittman High School will be hosting the Mountain Classic Softball Tournament April 2-5th. This tournament is ideal for teams wanting to travel over Spring Break as the amenities and attractions of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge will be available to teams during the week/weekend. Currently looking to fill two remaining spots. $200 entry fee. Please contact head coach, Haley Johnson at haleyjohnson@sevier.org for more information.
  9. In AA, Gatlinburg-Pittman's Karsen Sims should be in the conversation. Karsen has signed with Division I, Coastal Carolina University, and has been her teams leading scorer for the past 3 seasons. She is currently leading her team in points per game, rebounds per game, and steals per game. Karsen has led the Lady Highlanders to an undefeated 8-0 start in District 3AA with wins over AP ranked #7, Fulton, and Region foe, Alcoa, who is undefeated in District 4AA, which holds CAK. The Lady Highlanders are currently 18-5. Karsen is an excellent athlete, having been named to the All-State soccer team on multiple occasions, as well as finishing 7th in A/AA state pentahalon last year. She scored a 32 on her ACT and would be a great representation of Tennessee High School Basketball.
