Hardin Valley Academy is definitely the best team in the state in my opinion, and it isn't close. Their match-up with Farragut this Friday will reveal the margin between them and the rest of the pack. Besides HVA, I think that Science Hill (obviously), Sevier County, and Farragut are up there as well. South Doyle is also underrated... They've got a good team out there.

Home cookin. WOW. Worst officiating I've ever seen at a high school game. Lopsided all night, screwing HVA out of a win. It was unbelievable.

I was there and saw Grace playing to win while the other teams were trying a bunch of different rotations. Both McMinn Central and Hardin Valley were treating the game as a scrimmage while Grace was not. I guarantee the results would have been different if they were playing to win as well.

HVA wins by a field goal.

I forgot about Grace's win over HVA last year. If they really will be better than last year, then I apologize for doubting them and maybe they deserve a spot in the top ten. I don't believe Hardin Valley lost much from last year and I believe they could be one of the better teams in 4-AAA. I have to disagree about Bearden, though. I am just not sold that they will be one of the top teams without Erin Walsh. Another team to keep your eye on is Knoxville Catholic.

Sorry, but Grace is not one of the top ten teams in the Knoxville area. And neither is Lenoir City. IMO, a more accurate list would be: 1. Farragut 2. Fulton 3. Gatlinburg-Pittman 4. Heritage 5. CAK 6. Maryville 7. Webb 8. Hardin Valley 9. Bearden ........

I think Clarksville lucked out and will have an easy route to the championship game. I think HVA and Houston will have a tough battle in the semis, with Houston winning. I have no idea who would win in a Houston/Clarksville final.

Hardin Valley beat Farragut 2-0 Bearden surprisingly beat Maryville 2-0 I see a clear path for HVA to a regional championship.

If that's the case, then I'd say Hardin Valley will have a tough night. They have a solid run game but their passing game is sub-par.

The sad thing about District 3 is that you've always got either Farragut, Maryville, or Hardin Valley in regions.
