  1. From what I heard is 3 kids are in the band and they are in the Rose Bowl Parade. Another one was on the football team and went to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. So, they decided to go the house because of who knows, smh. This team is a joke, an absolute joke....
  2. This basketball team is a joke. Comparing this team to the Science Hill teams of the past, lol. I had friends on those Science Hill team and those teams were great, outstanding and every other great word you can say about a team. We have the most underachieving basketball program with the last 20 years. We have a average program and it should not be that way. I am so sick of all the hype of this great basketball team. I knew deep down Science Hill had this conference when they beat them in December. We play an average of 20 to 25 games a year as Science Hill plays 30 games+ a year at least. I don't know the financial particular of DB's athletic program, but IMO this basketball program should be more advertised in other classics. Screw all this get better after the holidays. You play to get better each game, month and so on. Morgan is a average coach who goes average with great talent and vice versa. I am sure I will get eaten up by this post, but that is my opinion. There is no excuses for this team to be how they are this year. I don't care if Love is not playing til after the holidays, this team and program is a disappointment to me. I respect Science Hill with what they do in basketball and they are king of basketball in East Tennessee. Science Hill will be Science Hill and I am not hating. I am giving due where it is due.
  3. Really.... I mean really.... Can a guy keep up with other teams in the state beside their own. I call that being shallow. just saying not to mention ignorant. That is the problem with some people. it is called a one-track mind. I have never bashed Maryville or Blackman, but insist on judging me like the rest of some DB fans. Again, that is a one-track, shallow, and ignorant comment.
  4. I agree, Maryville is playing with the foot to the podal. Theae guy are on aonther level right now. Good luck Blaze, it will be toughest game you will play all year, even above the Kentucky team you guys played this year.
  5. I really wish I knew more about Boone, Tennessee High,Volunteer and Central. We need more posters for our conference.....
  6. How does the conference shape-up this year. Will it be Science Hill or Dobyns-Bennett. Anyone feel free to chime in....
  7. I read your post about Dorian Banks on the Sevier County/Maryville thread. Sevier County beat us in the regular season and to answer your question, I personally think he is not utilize enough in their offense. I think next year is his year to shine at Sevier County. Dorian has good vision on the field and runs hard. Every time he had the ball, I held my breath because I thought he was going to break one. Good luck against Clarksville Northeast Friday....
  8. I listen to the last matchup on the radio. This one should be a dandy of a game.
  9. Alumni01, congrats on a great season... You guys played well this year and could not have asked for a better season.
  10. Everyone should agree with this statement: If Maryville gives you gifts, take advantage of it. Maryville giving gifts is the equivalent of Santa coming from to town 4 times a year, basically meaning Christmas is every 3 months, lol. Sevier County will have to play fundamentally sound with no turnovers and limit their penalties if they have any. The Smokey Bears will have to control the line of scrimmmage and make plays on defense. They can not afford to miss tackles and obviously get burned by the big play. They have to protect Luke Manning and give him time in the pocket and not be afraid to run the football with Bailey and Banks. I am not saying they are afraid, but running the ball is key to keep Maryville's defense honest. Sounds easy, but that is all you can do. Regardless, it ought to be a great atmosphere too class coaches, teams and great fan bases.
  11. We should have been in the same offense as last year (Georgia Tech Offense).. We had the personnel despite losing 3 key stars on offense. 2 stars went to UT, so that was our excuse for switching everything to a spread power/zone read. The Georgia Tech offense would have work with Trammell, Casey and one of the sophomores in the back field with Holt at QB. One of those sophomores would have emerged because of the presence of Zach Casey. DJ Jones and Caleb Cook along with Sam Stewart on and off of the field at the wide receiver position. The last time I said this, I did not know what I am talking about according to some people (SMH). We saw how this team finish this year in the big bad spread, lol. I know who we lost (2 UT Stars), but still don't fix what is not broken. f you are going to change everything around slowly do it. I mean, this team had been in the Georgia Tech Offense for 3 years at least. So, this team was more than likely used to that offense. This team did not utilize what they had personnel wise. Anyhow, I am beating a dead horse trying to explain this again. I respect everyone's opinion, but I got ripped into a new one because of my post in September. I will stick to this opinion for this year and blame the offense change on this year along with naturally losing 2 studs and Cook...
  12. Also Alumni, congrats on beating Dobyns-Bennett. I am telling you personally because this is the only way I can communicate with you and a few other people without all these chaotic posts the last week.
  13. Graham has to get his personnal for what he wants to run offensively, but I am not getting in that conversation because I got ripped apart earlier in the year by some people. I think next year you guys ought to be favored...
  14. Probably an average basketball team. Science Hill is still king in Basketball. Anyhow, I am a realist... Next year has lots of question marks. I stand alone in this opinion along with one of my buddies.
  15. If someone does not step up offensively, we will be average.. Defense will be fine, but offensively, we have question marks still.
  16. I started this post because the DB VS Morristown East post turned into a DB football post more than anything else. Nothing personal against anyone on there, just felt like a new post needed to be started. Since this year is over, what do you think next year will be like. I personally think someone will have to emerge as a team leader on offense and our special teams as always needs to improve.
  17. I was under the weather and have some other things going on and I am glad I did not have to witness this. Anyhow, some people will have to mature in the offseason on offense for us to have a great team. I am taking this last statement and starting a Dobyns-Bennett Football 2014 Thread...
  18. I have a few ties down in Middle Tennessee, so I was just wondering about the Bobcats. You don't hear nothing about anything in East Tennessee (SMH). Good luck to Nashville Overton the rest of the postseason.
  19. All I am going to say is this, me and my best friend was on the phone and we knew what was going to happen when were up 17-0. No, I am not calling for anyone's head. I am just saying it was a matter of time before they came back. The only thing that came out of this was not getting embarrassed by Maryville next week. Good luck Canes because they had a bad first half and they will really be focused next week..
  20. I have not heard much about them. I was just wondering who their playmakers are. They are 10-0 and curious about them. Anyone feel free to comment about them Bobcats....
  21. Now as for Fulton, some sources tell me you guys are the real deal (common sense). I might have the opportunity to see you guys this year if things go how they should. Carter at South will be interesting...
