Congratulations. Who or what does MCM stand for?

Both teams are good. To be the best, you have to play the best, and Greenbrier has done this.

Our top pitcher only has the one loss to Knox Halls. The other losses were with 2nd and 3rd pitchers. Exactly why I made this post. Greenbrier is awesome when they play the best 9.

I am sure it would be a good game but in my opinion Greenbrier has done well against a much tougher schedule. They have played and won against several good AAA teams.

Check out todays BEST RECORDS. Oakland is number 1 with a 22 wins and 7 losses. Is this really better than Dekalb County's 21 -1 record? Maybe this should be listed as "MOST WINS". I am not stressing over it. I would just expect the terminology to be correct.

And how deep did Riverdale go in the tournament?

In AAA if my memory serves correct, Oakland is ranked 8th and they have been run ruled 3 times and not all teams were AAA teams.

When Greenbrier beat these teams it was pre season. Not all teams were pitching thier #1 pitchers and a lot were playing some JV players. Not taking anything away from Greenbrier, they are good. Just sayin...... Some teams might take a loss here and there to allow more players to get some time. I also agree the system appears flawed.

Soddy does not appear to the powerhouse they once were. It seems the up and coming players are looking for alternatives.

Care to elaborate?

Too bad they can't extend play into Sunday but possible there will be some softball played this weekend.

I don't know anything about Marion County, but Coffee County has not played up to my expectations. Maybe my expectations for them were too high or perhaps it is still early in the season.

I haven't seen any talk of Canon being so good. DC is ranked much higher. I would have expected a more lopsided score. Just saying.......

It looks like DC ran into a pitcher.

Did they bow out, or did they get sent home with a loss?

Gibbs just won the Commando Classic and has a good team. Don't count Greenbrier out either. A lot depends on who has the healthiest pitchers come tournament time.

Why was there not a title game and if so, how was Gibbs declared the winner?

Heather Norris/Clarksville, Brooklyn Lee/Dickson County, Savannah Sanders/Mt Juliet, McKenzie Prince/Smyrna, Raygun Greer/Ravenwod, and Breanna Jones/Coffee County, just to name a few from the mid state area. I am sure there are others, just throwing these names out there.

Agreed. I watched them play the other night and they were struggling at the plate. It could have been just this one game. There is a lot ball left to be played.

Indian, I have watched you're posts for a few years and have a lot of respect for them. You bring up a lot of good points, but..... I don't think most disgruntled parents would cause a big stink if they knew their child would be benched or kicked off the team if they are still playing and their parents were bringing this up. It could cost them the opportunity to play in college on someone else's dime. I will say that at least one team in the state tournament was playing with 5 players on the roster that were not zoned for their school for their incoming freshman year. The key is that they are all legal transfers per the TSSAA rules.
