  1. Mo West STATE CHAMPION?????? I see it says in previous post that NED NEWTTER JACk thinks that many people think they will be State Champion......Maybe many people from Morristown but NOT KNOXVILLE. They haven't beaten anyone of substance yet. If they beat all three of those teams, then they can bark, right now they are just another good team, NOT A STATE CHAMPION threat yet... I get so amazed at anyone thinking anyone can say that........I'll tell you what if they beat all three of those teams , I am so sure they won't,,,, I will go to Buddy's Bar B Q right beside Bearden High school and pay for anyone's meal on Sunday March 29th who says COACHT sent me.....I will be happy to oblige.......but my money is safe ... Tall order for Mo West, ya'll are painting them into a corner I don't think they will fill.....but I have been wrong before and will gladly pay up if I am
  2. Agreed both these teams have great talent but they did before Turner and Culbreth got there and Neither had any State Championships. Since those two arrived they have won 6 in the last 8 years. Many great players do not make a team, someone has to cordinate the talent or they are just many great players who never won anything. I could list teams in any sport that have the best athletes but aren't put together by caoches who can get the most from the talent and control egos. East tn ref ever heard of the New York Yankees? Talent only goes so far and I think those two could take most teams and get alot out of them.
  3. Dins8 Since you seem every year to go to all of the Bearden games, I am assumming since I don't know who you are ,that you may be a Bearden ex Player but I'll bet more on a ex-players father....so that being said you lean towards Bearden ALways ,so yes I am saying you are biased. I think this year I'll go with Farragut. They have played well with the exception of Oak Ridge , which in my opinion was a coaching error because they played 3 games in 4 days at the beginning of the season on a huge field on a wet night. I wouldn't have done that , I am sure they were tired at Oak Ridge and it showed in a tie. The paper said the shots were 9-2 for Farragut but they have to go in to count. Coaches Turner and Culbreth both said this was a rebuilding year, and I think they are trying the quiet attack route. I still prefer Culbreth's coaching over Turners although who can argue they are two of the best, so I will take Farragut's rebuilding over Bearden's.
  4. JPII had the advantage in the first game against CBHS that , CBHS was tired from having already played the night before then played a very good Farragut team and only had a hours rest before playing JPII. The score was indicitive of a tired CBHS team not a great JPII team. That was shown in the second game.
  5. THis was a great disservice to the Clarksville Proud and the whole State. In this politically correct world, no loger are the ones who hold you accountable for your actions needed........No obviously we we need someone who will make evryone happy and meake everyone feel good about themselves even if they are wrong. Coach Donahue raised MEN not boys and would be the first one to hold someone accountable, that is preparing you for life not a fairy tale. That is what Coach Donahue did, now seems that the Politically Correct have gotten to him. There is more than meets the eye here, but Coach Donahue is clean. I just wish he would openly defend himself, but at this time to maintain he has chosen not to YET!!! CLARKSVILLE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THIS ACTION AGAINS A GREAT COACH!!!
  6. Wow, I will open a can of worms here , but oh well......Kerr is now just a figure head , his assistants practice and concieve the team. What ever they have done a good job.
  7. Out of all the Players at Farragut I would say one of the most classiest is J Muth. He is a warrior on the field and I am sure his thought process was , he didn't want to lose the game, so it was something he only had a second to think about, so I find the digs at him WAY OUT OF LINE. Let's say Ridge did score, Farragut came back and scored again in the overtime also, so it would have still been tied. I don't think Farragut or Bearden take anything for granted but one of them finds a way to win 6 out of the last 7 State Championships, so they understand winning. That is why I think they went for the win on Sat. Winners are always winners and dodge noone. Farragut will struggle without Muth for a short peiod before they fall into place and still win. Maryville and OR, I am still going to take Maryville in this one.
  8. While all things are possible, I believe Indy will again fall. Brentwood will score but will hold off scores against. Their are teams around the state that can knock off Brentwood , I just don't think Indy is one of those schools.
  9. District 11AAA Tournament, What's it gonna take to knock off Brentwood? Much as I hate to say it,............................An East Tennessee Team!
  10. I hear lots of people talk about how Pro Basketball and other pro sports dominate the Knox News, or how the Vols will be wearing new spandex Jockstraps in the fall or even another College player from any college got caught Drunk or raping someone, or arrested for disorderly conduct and it gets more press than local Soccer. [ u]Soccer has now over taken Basketball as the number 1 Participant Sport in the United States[/u], yet let our national Team play and you will see a one line sentence saying the score down by the same section that says some player nobody ever heard of from the 1987 Arizona State Football team was arrested for gun possesion. I can find all that on the internet if I want, I buy papers to look at local games and pictures!!!! The editors are missing the boat thinking you care more about the 3 stitches some pro player got than coverage of the players in their local area. Ok, Solution everyone write sports@knoxnews.comand tell them how you feel. Enough letters and they may respond and don't expect someone else to do it, we all need to!!!! So Knox County Soccer do you care???????????????
  11. Big G what paper are you reading Carter got lots of coverage from their game last night! Odd isn't it!!!! Shopper News guy really does try to give us coverage so don't beat on the only guy listening to us when he has owned up to his error and it was an error not a blatant diregard for Soccer as the Knox news does! Now for the Crows about whom is best. Please show up here on this site if you are still playing on May 24th and Crow all you want and be cocky , you deserve to be!!
  12. Let me guess you are a JPII fan. What you don't say in your post is how Farragut pretty much dominated the game between JPII and JPII were losing 1-0 with 13 minutes to go. What you don't say is who controlled play in that game and it was Farragut , NOT JPII and you were there on the field so you know. You played Farragut Tough and they did not recover against CBHS and you JPII benefited because it was such a physical game between CBHS and Farragut , CBHS was to tired to play a fresh JPII back to back..,. Lucky for you, you will never see Farragut again but unlucky for you CBHS will be fresh next time you play them and you will see a different result. I am sure you will get on here and blast my comments but for all of you areound the state KNight and Nick have slanted JPII views since they play there, I will give you credit for a very good team but let either of these teams play you at their home with JPII the traveler, and you have to play them playing back to back games, you might not be so cocky then, different results for sure.......that being said you can crow because you did win and the real time to grow is when they hand you the champion trophy.....Will you be there then??? Don't answer just prove me wrong
  13. Coach Turner is good very good, but if you take a basketball team with two 7 footers against a team of ALL 7 footers no matter how well coached the shorter team will not get as many rebounds. In other words, Bearden doesn't seem to have enough talent this year to go around. The Dawgs will make a run but how far depends more on how the ball bounces in the game than anything else this year.
  14. I have to go with Pigeon Forge on this one. Over all man for man better not a lot but better. PF 2-1
  15. Sometimes tough teams just gut it out pretty or ugly and that is what Farragut has done and have continued winning, Consistancy is relative and if you are going to talk about that , Farragut hasn't lost yet and that is pretty consistant, yet West and Bearden have. Take away West mouths and I think they are one of the best teams if not the best team around, I just think they pull themselves off their game with each other by talking to much. If they were quiet and jsut played the Golden Trophy could be theirs. Now Psuede you and I have disagreed on here before and we do again. I don't think that physical play is any less of Farraguts game than Bearden. Since your family is tied to Bearden it makes sense for you to call for Bearden to be the winner . Physical or not I like Farragut's chances they find a way to win. Now that being said is it possible that Bearden wins , of course it is, ........will the refs determine the outcome,... I doubt it , but everytime Farragut Beats Bearden, Psuede for the last couple of years the excuse is the refs calls come into play, so I have 1 question....If Farragut loses is it ok if they blame the refs too????
  16. Game is at Farragut High School at 2:00 on Saturday April 19th ( Day after the regular Farragut Bearden Game. The old stars of old are coming back to play from all over. Demetrius Donald got the Bearden team together and I am not sure who got the Farragut players together but there is a whole slew from both teams. The game is named after Farragut's Coach Culbreth's daughter Brooke Culbreth who was the Farragut Soccer team Manager and died before the 2007 season. Great Venue for a good cause.
  17. While I know that MJUHB has alot of contacts I still can't see that You rank opponents higher than the current State Champion and in this case you have CAK at 3rd in the A/AA and Farragut 3rd in AAA????. Until one of them is beat they need to be the top ranking. I can't understand after 2 or 3 games for everyone, MJUHB, you see anyone above them until someone actually beats them? Using the logic I see being used here CBHS should be above Baylor but they are not and actually having seem them both play I think CBHS is the better team. Time will tell but your rankings are 1 person based on your own feelings because really you cannot have any true logic since the better teams have not played AND We are only 2 or 3 games into the season. Maybe you wanted to put something up for discussion but the old adage should still apply " Your still the champ until someone beats you". The powers in the State have come out of East Tennessee so long it is hard to doubt them but the shift to the West maybe this Year!!

  19. OK, here is my questions #1 are these nick names or real names? Names look all foreign to me. #2 How many of these are recent transfers to the school? #3 How good were the 3 seniors you lost?
  20. Informed- What are your intentions? Individual or only 1 group sale> Tssaa would have a heck of a time creating any avoc SINCE m, They 1) did not prohibit camera's and the biggest Number 2) is they didn't film and offer up a copy so that knocks out their punch right there, they are in no position to fight, oh they might yell , but they wouldn't have a leg to stand on AT ALL! You could sell those copies in Knoxville if you get ahold of the coachjes or the school. Lot's of people want them!
  21. Political choices is not always the reason a player gets in. Some great players never shine when they need to be seen, thus they are left off. Some teams have so many good players, not everyone can make it and whom you think is the best may not be the way someone else saw it. ...Think about it ; Does anyone ever agree with anyone else about everything? NO...thus you have different opinions about everything and who deserves the best players designation at any sport, is a subjective question. Some players are the stars of their club , yet never really show in High School the way they do in club and believe it or not it happens the other way too, High School stars are not always club standouts. The ones I really feel sorry for are the guys who are really good and play on a crappy school, NOONE ever recognizes them for their talent
  22. You can have the greatest talent in the world and when you have a coach that can't corral that talent, your team goes nowhere. Coaches make a big difference than what People give them credit for and McClosky will be an asset to the Smyrna program. Stability really will not mean anything to the seniors because they will only be there 1 year, but down the road it will. Area coaches need to plan on seeing a confident Smyrna team, because while McClosky is not perfect he is good and will instill confidence in his players.
  23. Pseudie, Pseudie, What are we to do with you? First let me say I think we all agree that OR will be good in SPITE of their coaching, 2nd West too will be up there and noone can ever bet against Turner, just like I wouldn't bet against Culbreth At Farragut either. As far as the JV beating Farragut's having something to do with it, I believe the year before Farragut's JV won and Bearden won a State Championship in 2006....Does any of that make sense..Of course not. Freshman classes have the least effect on a Teams overall strength. I have been right most of the time and I will Take Bearden and Farragut again in next year's Regionals. Maryville will have a great record but never make it past Districts. West will struggle with having it's stars have senioritis and Oak Ridge-Might be the surprise not West
  24. I would have kissed him if I had been on the field, that shot was GREAT!!
  25. THEN YOU MY FREIND OBVIOUSLY DID NOT SEE THE GAME!!!!
