Why is this game at Westmoreland again this year? I checked the other posts but all I could find was the refs were bad and the receivers were holding. Oh that and some wannabe making posts. Should be poser28!

It probably had something to do with the classless mentality of running up the score every chance you get. There are a lot of bush league coaches out there!

How did it come down to a choice between schools in Knoxville and Nashville area private schools? How good is he really?

I actually heard someone make a point about having a public private split. Public schools all have a zone for their schools with some type of feeder system. Private schools have no zone and subsequently have to recruit students to their schools. CPA just happens to have a guy in the admissions department that uses his position to better his teams. Has he ever really worked a day in his life? He has never even had to take a bad team and make them better. It's time to make a split!

I don't think the issue is having a kid at your school that has been held back at your school. It is how di he come to be at your school, did you create a "job" for his parent(s), did you give him lessons, did you do something to get him that you do not do for other students........

I just think everyone else lost too much from last year and Vaughn coming back is A Lot! An injury could be devastating but that is the case with every team. Besides, PC does a pretty good job of "finding" players! Watch out for LA too!

The TSSAA has an initial contact rule. It basically states that the first contact between a prospective student athlete and a school should take place at the school and be initiated by the parents of the student. I believe the "job" the school has given Maddux helps to circumvent part of that rule. The one part of the rule it does not circumvent is meeting on campus. I find it hard to believe that a family from Iowa would come straight to CPA to further their son's education! I know a lot of schools have complained about how and where Maddux has gotten players from. It looked like bringing Wharton in from Knoxville might have reached the pinnacle but now they are bringing a player in from out of state. It's probably not fair to the other sports to be pushed to D2 or even base a split on one sport but if the other sports and administration continue to turn a blind eye to the win at all cost methods and mentality, then so be it! Congratulations To all of the Christ Presbyterian Church members! You may thoroughly enjoy watching "your" CPA team play basketball but you will rarely if ever have the opportunity to watch your own boys play meaningfull minutes for the team! They will just have to keep bringing water to players Maddux is so fortunate to have fall in his lap! Maybe one day, a person with integrity will surface!

I never said anything about talent. I said success. Smaller schools don't always find enough people to fill all of the weight classes. In that case, some coaches can find zombies to run out there for forfeits. Coaching plays a big part but it stands to reason that the more students you have to choose from, the more potential wrestlers you would have. The more wrestlers you have, the potential for more in house competition you would have. Shear numbers don't make you successful, but it helps!

Well...........if you put any school in the small school classification with an enrollment of twice that of the other schools you should have success. That's the point of classifications. Dumb Comment.

Isn't it funny that no one has the desire or guts to put a stop to this? The TSSAA just goes about its business of collecting dues and fines with no ambition of doing the right thing for the bulk of its membership! I'm sure creating foster homes for athletes prior to the 9th grade is another way to circumvent the high school rules of living at home with a parent or guardian. That just shows that anyone that does it or allows it is promoting a cheaters mentality! It also shows that the schools mission is to win at ANY cost including the destruction of their glorious image!

They're not bringing these kids in as 8th and 9th graders to be non-factors! The only non-factors are the kids that grew up going to school there from the start! I wonder how all of those supporters of the program feel when their kids get passed over for the next big transfer?

I saw where CPA got a new player from Iowa. That's really expanding their school zone. Who else do they have coming in this year?
