Can't imagine how the big man is going to put up with that principal. Haven't heard one good thing about him.

Who waits two months to fire their coach? Probably the best job in metro and they waited so late to make the decision. Makes no sense!

I'm guessing they don't really care like most metro schools.

Some up and comer has to be interested.

The Creek just needs to shut down. I never hear anything good about that place anymore.

Not the basketball board but this thing morphed into a monster just like always. Apache brought this info to everyone and I would say two things. 1. The initial contact rule says that the "initial" meeting with perspective parents should take place at the school with the admissions office. CPA has created a loophole by allowing the basketball coach to work in admissions. So you mean to tell me a family from Iowa just happens to come to Nashville and go straight CPA to enroll their son? I'm sure the corn fields were whispering CPA.... There is no way that initial contact rule was not violated! Anybody that says it wasn't is a liar! Basketball coach in admissions = fox in the hen house 2. You can't fault the football team or any other program at that school for the practices of the boys basketball team. The breakdown of the football was interesting. When your church is used to circumvent the financial aid rule, you really need to take a look in the mirror and ask yourselves is this how you go about glorifying God? All of you that defend your school and attack those that speak out and against them ought to just encourage your school to change leagues if you want the rest of the state perceive you as anything other than cheaters. Didn't Stratford just give the job to the track coach? If so they have a principal that isn't worried about wins!

You're right about Pearl Cohn having a tougher road but I still think they will generally be favored to win. There's not many places you could put Hillwood for them to be successful. Maybe they could start playing Whites Creek about 5 times a season to build some momentum. Nobody else in the lower classification will make much noise. Maplewood seems to be drifting off to a place they were before Thompson got them going. Stratford hasn't been good since that Johnson fellow coached them. That was the last time Hillwood was good wasn't it?

CPA will have another cake wald district as will Pearl-Cohn. Lipscomb will probably be favored in theirs as well. Half the teams in 3A in this should have new coaches. Maybe that will make it more competitive but I doubt it. Goodpasture goes winless and they move up?

Where exactly did this top 25 list come from and who is on it outside of these two teams?

I bet Vandy didn't give anything to anybody. They may benefit from seeing the kids but I'll guarantee they're not helping out metro schools. Didn't they make a pretty penny from the good people of White House last year?

I think this game will be a 25+ point game. CPA has one real test left this season. Alcoa.

East needs their own field. This game would be better if played on their home field. I don't know if a real home game would help East but it would be better than a neutral field. I bet Pearl won't look to play east on a neutral field next year.

You are right about one thing. The majority of metro coaches would love to have the athletes that Pearl has! Hillsboro, Cane Ridge and McGavock may be the exceptions to that. I would put Overton in there buts it's just a matter of time before the big man works his magic if the head coach doesn't get in the way!

You said "these coaches do a GREAT job of getting these kids into school." Does that mean they do something extra to get the athletes to come to Pearl? I seem to recall an uproar by many parents in the area around the school when their kids were rezoned from Hillwood. And you are right, a lot of your kids have gone on to college to play. So I know its not all bad. Just a few bad apples like every other school.

Why has Pearl been so successful?

No one is a golf fan from CPA. I guess that means they weren't brought in from the jr. Tour in the 8th grade. There is an interesting post on the 1a 2a football board with regards to CPA basketball. It is under Goodpasture football 2014. Why is it none of the old rivals play CPA anymore? Must be their mission statements. Lol!
