  1. The TSSAA website is broadcasting the tournament games. Make sure you log on to watch LEAD vs Goodpasture at 2:45 Friday.
  2. I agree. I think the winner of this game wins the next 2 by 20+ points. Mitchell is more athletic. Goodpasture has better shooters. Both teams likes the pressure defense and turn the other team over. It's the same old thing when you have 2 good teams playing each other. The winner will be the team that takes care of the basketball.
  3. Appreciate the vote of confidence. The top Class A teams are winning in their tournaments. Memphis is loaded with talent. I wouldn't call it a major upset if GP goes down.
  4. I don't see comments from Goodpasture fans. I see several general comments from posts that don't have any affiliation with Goodpasture. Why are you trying question the Christian principals of Goodpasture? Pickett County is gorgeous. We've vacationed on Dale Hollow Lake.
  5. You may be onto something here. I've seen Goodpasture fans wearing solid white shirts and jeans at a game or two this season. I haven't seen any other fans or parents from any other schools wearing that combination of clothes.
  6. She's a senior. The main scorer and rebounder for Goodpasture. She's been a starter since 8th grade and has broken all the scoring records. I think she's an elite player but I don't think she's at the level of Coe at Jackson County.
  7. Clay County is a very well coached team. Ms Basketball has been in a walking cast since last week from an injury during district tournament and couldn't run or jump during game. The game boiled down to Clay hit their free throws in overtime and Goodpasture didn't.
  8. I like the Gordonsville team. Senior leadership, shoot the ball well, and they have some size. When other posts were crying about the blowout at Goodpasture early in the season, I was the only one posting that I thought it was a fluke and Gordonsville ran into the perfect storm. The last 2 contests have proved that. I think the only difference in Gordonsville & Goodpasture is that Goodpasture has a deep bench. I haven't seen any of the 7-A teams play. Don't know anything about them. I know they must be good and competitive or they wouldn't be playing this weekend. I like Watertown & Gordonsville's chances Saturday to advance. I think Goodpasture is the best team in the region but it only takes one bad shooting night to go home for the season.
  9. How has Gordonsville shown Goodpasture it can be beaten?
  10. Jealousy will eat you up my friend.
  11. I think Goodpasture brings out the best in Gordonsville shooting. Those guys were draining the 3s and hitting the mid-range jumpers. Game was a lot closer than final score. 4 point game in 4th quarter. I think Gordonsville got tired late. Goodpasture's depth was the difference. I'm pulling for 8-A in region and don't see why the region finals can't be Gordonsville and Goodpasture.
  12. I agree. Good game. Rowdy crowd. Great atmosphere. I'm with you. Why did Watertown post player sit so much in 2nd half? I thought that allowed the Goodpasture post to rebound more and her put-backs killed Watertown. If you would have told me that Goodpasture's leading scorer would have had a bad shooting night, I probably wouldn't have made the drive. I thought the Watertown turnovers were key but that comes sometimes with having a young team. Great learning experience and they'll benefit from it in region and next year. I think they will beat Pickett. I'm pulling for 8-A teams!
  13. I agree with you. I like the young players on Watertown's team and I see them winning the district the next couple of years. How do you not win the district tournament on your home floor with 5 all-district team players and the coach of the year? Goodpasture should have had more than 3 all-district team players and their coach should have been coach of the year. I believe the district coaches wanted to stick it to Goodpasture as much as they could. Glad games are decided on the basketball floor and not by voting.
  14. Watertown played good. They have a good group of young players. You'll be hearing about Watertown for at least the next two years. This was Goodpasture's 4th game in 5 days plus they had played Brentwood Academy the night before. Watertown was the better team Friday and made the plays to win.
  15. DCA and Goodpasture have played every year for a long time but DCA would not play them this year. DCA coach won't schedule competitive non-district games. DCA was eager to play GP when GP was no good but now that GP is competitive, DCA would rather play JV teams.
  16. Agree with you about 3 or 4 at Goodpasture. They don't have 1 dominate player like some other teams. Other teams have a main player scoring most of their points. Balanced attack from all 4 of GP's main players. Tough to stop 4 players. Long way to state. Hope they make it.
  17. DCA plays a JV schedule. The 1 or 2 teams that they play that are any good have shut him down.
  18. Who is that best player in the district that plays for Trousdale?
  19. I hear what you're saying. Wish you could have seen the game. Hopefully, we'll see each other in the region. I'm sure that's the goal of both teams.
  20. Just got home from church and read your post. I realize from your post that I have contributed to your view of no Christ in Christians by the derogatory posts that I have written about you. I apologize. It won't happen again. I will post facts and will not post any personal attacks against you or anyone else. I believe your posts have come from looking at a box score and not being at the game. I could be wrong. I am still looking for what you or anyone else would have done differently than the GP coach. He pulled the starters early and played the subs and JV players. The only thing left is telling his players to not shoot, hold the ball, or let the other team score to make the score closer. I may be wrong but I think that would be a slap in the face to the Gordonsville players. In no way do I think Gville is 68 points worse than GP. They have too many good players. Like I posted earlier, Gville caught Goodpasture on a night where everything was perfect for them. They have not played that good for 32 minutes yet this season. I'm just posting what I saw.
  21. Read the posts. All you see is how everyone talks about the GP beatdowns. I'm glad you know what kind of person I am. I've already told you what I think about you and nothing's changed. What would you have done if you were the GP coach?
  22. You guys are killing me. You post about all of the beatdowns that Goodpasture got in football but when the shoe is on the other foot, here come the tears and the "mommy he's mean to me" comments. It appears to me that out of all of these posts, there was only one person that actually saw the game and their comment is right on. Now for the facts of someone who was at the game: 1) There was no running up the score. The starters were pulled a few minutes into the 3rd quarter. The JV played the entire 4th quarter. GP still outscored Gordonsville 49-15 in the 2nd half. 2) In my opinion, this was the perfect storm. It was the best game I've seen GP play this year. The guards were unselfish. They gave up the ball when guarded and they knocked down the open 3s. The inside game was great. Gordonsville had taller players but GP's big man #24 played at the rim all night and had a good game. 3) There was a 2 minute stretch where Goodpasture played 4 on 5 because one of their players didn't know he was supposed to be in the game. Coach made him stay on the bench. GP outscored Gville 10-2 during that stretch. 4) Gordonsville got down early and ran out of gas in the 2nd half. Goodpasture has depth this year. That hasn't been the case in prior years which has been the biggest reason the GP basketball program has been in the crapper until last year. What do you whiners want? You be the GP coach. Do you let the other team keep shooting unguarded until they finally make one? When you bring the ball in, do you hand it to the other team and tell them to shoot? Do you hold the ball for the entire 2nd, 3rd, & 4th quarters because you're up 28-11 at the end of the 1st quarter? Goodpasture's coach did the same thing any of the other coach would do. He pulled the starters and let the subs and JV play a lot. GP has been on the other end of the beating a bunch. It's not fun on either side. I think Gordonsville has a good team but I think they ran into a night when everything for GP was going great.
