This game is intriguing. It should be called the "Buttercup Bowl". Wayne has chalked up four straight victories against, ut hmmm....let's be kind, less than average opponents. Columbia Academy has gone undefeated against opponents with combined records of 11-29.

Is HC an average team masquerading as a below average team? 2-4 record. Not to be harsh, but let's deal in reality here. IF they make the playoffs in 2A it will be one and done. I think Jo Byrns will surprise a few teams in the playoffs.

What has South Pittsburgh done THIS YEAR that puts them above NCS. NCS only loss was an after the fact forfeit to a now undefeated 3A school which they shellacked 55-24. The forfeit only because a 3rd stringer got to play the last 3 plays of the game.

It's Union City, Nashville Christian, and South Pittsburgh that play on a different level than the rest of 1A. I've been saying for a long time Greenback is a good but not elite team. Thanks to the Tigers for validating my position.

Putting Coalfield in the same post season discussion with Greenback let alone even the same sentence is ridiculous. Have you looked at Coalfield's last few games? NCS's middle school (undefeated btw) could beat Oliver Springs. Greenback is phenomenal. I watched that Oneida game online and it's just incredible how they fought back. Now to NCS. If it had not been for a ineligible 3rd string sophomore playing in the last two minutes of a 55-24 blow out of a dang good 3A Harpeth team then NCS is 6-0. They dispatched a big physical 3A Cheatham County 31-0. NCS is big, strong, and fast. Nobody thus far has even made them sweat and that includes a D-II team. NCS plays a whole different level than everyone else in 1A except for Greenback and Union City. NCS will make it to the semi-finals GUARANTEED. After that we'll see.

Union City is the best team in the west by far. They are going to beat Humboldt like a circus monkey. Humboldt is the most overrated team I've seen in years. No way they should be #1. Maybe 6th.

Look for the Tigers to come out fired up ready to play. It's been a while since Rockwood has beat Greenback and there's not a better time to upset the Cherokees than now!
