  1. I saw on another post that the TSSAA may go back to 5 class divisions, anyone else heard this? If so, they would have to re district all teams again.
  2. Question? I see where you listed 4 players who played on the same team that I assume The CPA players played on . Is this correct? If correct, then how many of the team played or is now playing at CPA? If your answer to the previous question is more than one player, then what point are you trying to make by giving stats of other players on the AAU team who EACH PLAY ON A DIFFERENT TEAM!!! Every time you CPA people try to justify your AAU team as a legit HS program, you dig yourselves deeper. If there was only one player on that team who attends CPA then this would not be the debate it has been for the last 3-4 years. Just like it is not an issue for the 4 teams you mention in your post. They only have ONE player, not several!!!! Why is this so difficult to understand why others feel there is something not exactly right in this situation?
  3. Jett, I have read Coach T for quite some time and know you are a long time CPA fan and poster. You are not a novice who just signed up yesterday to cause trouble. Based upon this I believe we all can assume you speak for and represent many CPA fans, staff, alumni, supporters. Please respond to the post calling out your information, and don't insult us by advising you were just guessing, estimating the arrival of the above students. What is the truth? If it is true that the named students all came to CPA at the same time, then why do you have to intentionally misrepresent the facts? When you do this you give the impression that you are hiding something or trying to cover up the truth. To other CPA fans (sportsnerd, dad1, etc...) you wonder why everyone outside CPA has a negative opinion of you BB program, this is an example. And don't give me same old line that if you have concrete proof, take it to TSSAA, if you cant prove it, then all is legal. Is stealing legal? It must be acceptable to many of you unless it can be proved. Is this what you want the public perception of your school to be?
  4. It must be true since he posted it twice!!!!!!
  5. I know I have given you CPA fans grief recently regarding the transfers in particular to BB, however I believe that most of this would stop if the TSSAA stepped in and made a rule that AAU coaches would not be allowed to coach ANY player they coach in AAU in high school. This rule would apply to both PUBLIC and PRIVATES . This would still allow high school coaches to earn extra income they may need, but would take any accusation of recruiting, true or not, out of the equation. Sure I know many if you may say this is not fair to the player who wants to be coached by the same person year round, however most kids who play in college are recruited at AAU anyhow vs high school. The TSSAA should draw the line. Again, this is not only for CPA but any coach at any high school in TN.
  6. I've given GP fans a little grief in BB just to have fun, but right now I have to say they have to be one of the favorites in 1A. I've seen them play and they don't have one superstar who will get the team in trouble if he is not on the floor, they have 8-10 really good BB players. If they play team ball, they will be tough to beat.
  7. I guess you are 1 of the 10 DAD1 is referring to. It
  8. Sportsnerd: I do believe you try to honestly answer questions, but try to see outside the CPA box, in particular on your BB team. Most everyone outside CPA feel this is an AAU team disguised as a high school. Can you blame them when you have stories of players such as the Greenbrier player whose parents "moved" in order for him to play at CPA and now are living in the same house they always had? Is this true? The same for the player in Murfreesboro whose family "moved" back there. Again these may just be stories, but it keeps adding to the public perception that CPA belongs in an AAU league or D2 TN vs D1 in TN. Add to the fact that the Tennessean wrote an article about the kid who is 11th in 3point scoring when he is putting them up with a 50 point lead, it doesn't help. Today I pick up the paper and another article is in there about another CPA player who I believe came form BGA. As far as other sports, I believe the perception of CPA is positive, I have not heard complaints about FB, it appears your coach has elevated the existing talent base which has been there many years. You can blow off my comments as hating if you want and keep justifying your BB program, or you can at least understand where the majority of the public perception comes from outside of CPA.
  9. 8a will be one of the best districts of any class in the state. State champion in 1a will come from this district.
  10. Well let's see....ice cream man said he should play the entire game, at least he answered somewhat, sports nerd did not touch the subject, surprising as he seems to have deep knowledge of CPA. Again, why do you keep him in and let him fire up 3s when you are up over 40 points? Were you worried that the other team could cut the lead to less than 30 before the game ended and actually feel better about themselves?
  11. How about it CPA fans? Why? How about it Dad, others? Give me one good reason other than trying to pad stats, you would allow him to be in the game much less shoot more 3s. It's like being ahead 40 points in football and still throwing TDs with your 1st team QB in the game. This explanation should be entertaining.
  12. Correct, I intended to say district tournament play, not district play.
  13. Let's see what happens when district play starts, that's when it counts
  14. Redog, if you are referring to my post, then I suggest you compare the record of both the current football and basketball coach vs the record of the former coach they replaced. If the former coaches had a winning percentage, then why were they replaced? Again, I don't have an issue with CPA if they fired the former coach for not wining enough, just admit this is the mission of the schools teams and the most important aspect of the team, vs. trying to state the main purpose of sports teams is to do missionary work in the community and winning and loosing is secondary.
  15. It's easy to be kind and say other teams are champions when you double the score. Before you respond back stating that win, loose, draw , you would have the same opinion, let's face the fact that CPA cares about winning more than anything else. That's ok if you do, just don't hide behind the do the right thing regardless theme that many privates claim. If winning wasn't the most important thing at CPA then why did they fire the former football coach that by all accounts was a great person and good leader, that's right, he did not win enough. Again, I agree with your prior post that if winning was not important then why keep score, just admit that this is the mission of CPA now, win big or get someone who will.
  16. So CPA has enough points in the first half alone to win the game.....sounds like great sportsmanship to me to embarrass a district opponent . Didn't the head coach play at Goodpasture? Enough said!!!!!!
  17. Believe it!!!! When you beat a team that you were not supposed to compete with, then you may have a point.
  18. I believe Goodpasture is over rated and we will find out Thursday!!!
  19. MJCA recruits just like GP does, at least they are in the correct division. Don't worry, TC will be primed and ready when GP game gets here.
  20. Wasn't Goodpasture picked to win the state pre season? They did not even win their district.
  21. JC has the same attitude for girls basketball the same way TC feels about FB. Forget it, plain and simple.
