  1. Dear Lord. What do you people not understand? Coalfield IS NOT supposed to win this game. If you're ranked in the top 10 in 4A and you lose to one of the smallest public schools in the state, then it's a huge blow regardless of what that 1A team is ranked.
  2. There is no doubt in my mind that Catholic will not take this game lightly. They are the ones that have everything to lose. This would be a huge blow to them if they were to lose and im sure they're fully aware of that.
  3. This is what ive been saying but most people are not getting the point. Coalfield plays bigger schools all year long in district play like Oliver Springs, Wartburg, and Oneida. Catholic is different; they're used to playing Maryville, Farragut, etc. Im not from Coalfield so I have no reason to make excuses. This is just logic.
  4. I think it will come down to Coalfield and SP at some point and the home team will win. Its hard to beat SP anywhere, esp at their place. It sounds like they have reloaded like always and will be good again. I hope to see this match up take place and I hope that I only have to travel to Coalfield.
  5. I partly agree with you but the facts are the facts. Catholic is a 4A school that was 5A last year. Last year they played teams like Maryville, Farragut, Bearden, West, Webb. It's not about moaning and groaning because Coalfield plays bigger schools every Friday night in their district. It's not like they're complaining about having to play Oliver springs who is 3 times larger of a school. I think the TSSAAis at fault here. They shouldn't allow that big of a jump in my opinion. .... just an opinion, don't stone me to death.
  6. I love it! This is what high school football is all about.
  7. Im not sure what either team has this year but I hope that the Indians pull this one off. If you're a fan of high school football, it's hard to pull against Oneida as long as they're not playing your team.
  8. Very good point, Crow! You are exactly right; they just gotta do it.
  9. I believe this game was a shootout last year. I also believe that both teams return the majority of last years roster. A lot on the line because one of them will start the season 2-0 which im not sure has ever happened. Oakdale wins a close game.
  10. I would really like to see Coalfield win this game but I don't see how it can happen. I have 3 hopes for this game: Coalfield doesn't get anyone injured, if they lose, it doesn't affect their playoff positioning (would hate to have to travel to SP in the 2nd round) and of course I hope they win. If Coalfield wins this game, there should be no reason to not win the gold ball.
