  1. Had son graduate last year from Warren. Enjoy reading post about the district. What is your guys opinion on Warren this year. My son last year was not good with coaching catastrophe. I see how inexperienced they are, but it looks like some of those freshman and sophomores could be pretty decent. I don't get to see every game so just going on what I have watched.
  2. So Pioneersports you think it is appropiate to chase officials off the floor after double digit loss with a profanity laced tirade because he was pissed. Would you wanted to be the official he called an SOB? What coach isn't pissed as you say after a season ending loss? I am just saying he has done this multiple times with his players. He was told by administrative higher ups this would not happen again. They gave us their word those things wouldn't be tolerated. I am just saying as a WC fan supporter and parent I was embarrassed for our players to have to end season with that as final memory. Win the right way. Lose the right way. There is a right way and once again he shows his lack of maturity and leadership by acting the wrong way.
  3. Congrats to Cumberland Co. on their win last night. I am usually a football guy and most people from both schools Warren Co/Cumberland Co. know the issues we had on gridiron this year when we played. As a Warren Co guy I am asking when will the lleaders of WC step up and demand our coaches be held accountable for their actions. The actions of our bball coach last night after the game when he went on his tirade towards the officials after a double digit loss was very unprofessional to say the least. We may have been bottom feeders of the district this year, but there is right and wrong way to win and lose. The cussing rampage he went into calling officials names which carried over into locker room once again was pitiful reputation of WC. We want respect then earn it and in no point has been respect been earned by disregarding the way things should be done by berating officlal to point of calling their mothers name while following them off floor in threatening manner. This isn't first time in new coach short tenure that he has cussed his own players to point of open apology being forced by leaders of school. He was tossed from summer camp earlier this year. Now in final game of year he decodes after game to follow officials off floor as loose cannon to do that. We were told by upper administration this would not happen again. Once again he crosses the line and we as WC fans have to say he is our leader on the hardwood leading of our young men. Totally uncalled for and not the way I think WC wants people to remember this season.
  4. Why would anyone think this would be different then past coaches. What has happened at WC will continue until the cows come home. It never changes. Coach Smith gave a great speech and now everyone knows what he said to me and all others about daddy ball applies to those daddies he didn't talk to before that meeting. Look at what the people in this county are trying to do to the new basketball coach. The guy is working hard and people who kids aren't playing are doing everything they can to get him fired after 20 games. I have listened to this for years. I think coach Smith is good hire as said before but you can't change people overnight. Daddy ball will continue as soon as certain sons aren't playing. Just give it time
  5. First of all Smith was a good hire. As for daddy ball he talked about with us the other night if you hire staff members connected to players and then communicate directly with parents those thoughts will continue. WC doesn't need that. If people listened the other night you would have heard one of these parents admit to talking to Smith about things like this when he asked questions to him during the meeting. The staff needs to be better. Rackley isn't good enough. Cotten needs to be out based on what I read. Why would you want that on a staff. Total overhaul in staff and Smith needs to distance himself from parents. Over all good meeting the other night.
  6. A week has passed and still no answers to my questions which involved how do school board members get opportunity to hire coaches. Is Holmes gonna call Farm Credit headquarters to see of they approve his decision. Is Zechman gonna write an editorial in paper telling his vast knowledge of athletic endeavors. Cassel obviously knows what he is doing with the home run hire he made on round ball side. Will give guy credit my son tells me he can put 4 letter words together with the best of them. Just glad he is able to come and go from practice now without needing a ride. Warren County isn't gonna change for anyone. It is Warren County. We do our job well. We know our place in the pecking order. Just can't wait till new guy is hired and we revisit this same topic in 3-5 years. Can't wait for the excitement I keep hearing about. That committee is gonna lead us to promise land which is worth about 2 wins a year and 20 page threads.
  7. That makes perfect sense for WC. Baseball coaches, a counselor, an elected school board member, plus Cassel. Yes that sounds like fine group to hire fball coach. I mean Bill Zechman, Jeff Lee or Scott Holmes know exactly what it takes to win at Highschool football. Zechman does great job of avoiding paying taxes so he scrambles like a QB. Holmes excellent water boy and ole Lee hangs around like the fruit that was sold at his papas grocery store. Who picked this committee? I am guessing the middle school band director. Which school board member gets to help choose the guy to lead this program over the coming years. Just when you think WC can't do it any worse this group is put together. Really has anyone asked how do you people know what it takes to win on football field. The comedy hour at WC gets better every year.
  8. Middle school sports doesn't translate to HS just like HS doesn't translate to college or college to pro. Warren County has a problem and in reality it has had a problem for over 2 decades. People on this board are problem. I could be considered a problem, but whatever the opinion is the fact remains WC isn't getting better. Coach Madewell did an above average job if you look at his whole body of work, but it want good enough. WC wanted more and well look what we got. Terrible results. We live in result driven world with instant feedback now. The feedback it is time to examine every phase. We need change in philosphy. No reason to beat this topic in ground any more, but if overall philosphy doesn't change expect decades do this to come. Leadership shows true colors in time of despair. Where is the overall leadership after next week. Where will school board mindset be. Where will school supt. thinking on this be, What will principal thoughts moving forward. Passive, aggressive, neutral who knows ,but if you think what went on Friday night on the field and the sidelines was deserving of your sons time and effort day after day you must have been watching it throughout rose colored glasses.
  9. A previous asked what my thoughts were after this week. I gave my opinion. My opinion was backed up by facts. If you dispute facts then tell me where I am wrong, but don't do the ole WC way where good ole boy try to quite the crowd so nothing is ever exposed. I have lived this for many decades in this county seeing this happen over and over. Remember the Tidwell fiasco. What about Madewell having coaches fired by his own principal. Let's not even get into the Chris Turner/Pamela Turner saga. Now you have Johnson chapter in this horror story of hiring coaches by inept people. Facts are facts. Madewell was working and it didn't work good enough for power in charge and now look where we are. It is a shame that this goes on year after year. So to tell me to shut up why should I be quiet so it can continue to work this way. If it works right I will say it works right. If I am wrong I will say I am wrong. Read my previous post and I have admitted I am wrong, but to say I am whining on here is just not factual. I am telling facts and those facts can't be disputed. Tell me where I am wrong with facts.
  10. Excuses really! What I said IMO is factual. Look at what is happening. Parents on these boards firing off at each other. Coaches at each other throats during the week. Principal telling one guy what he wants to hear while saying exact opposite to someone else. Who really has Coach Johnson back in all this. I think all would agree this whole paying outside coach extra money hasn't worked at all. Do some research and see how much money was invested and look at where WC is. We talk about pro sports board members but what have they really done. Truthfully what have they changed. The new school supt said day he was hired sports was top priority, but is it any better today than when he took over. WC is acting reacting just like it does every year. If you think I am wrong that's fine but look at past 20 years and see if it seems to be going in right direction. 20+ straight years of losing seasons. Where is evidence it is getting better
  11. I stand corrected on who hired Johnson. I believe Cassel came in shortly after. His track record for hires speaks for itself. I believe personnel inside the school will tell you he is not man for job. i just think our sons daughters deserve more. I am not saying winning state championships. I am just saying go watch a practice and see if that is worthy of what think it should be. Look at all mistakes made just in past decade and see who is ever held accountable. Remember we are county who had coach hit a player with a football helmet and yrs later he is becomes a principal for our middle school. Guess we do truly practice that forgiveness word and turn the other cheek.
  12. What type change you suggest. Let me give you my MONDAYAMQB suggestion. Jeff Lee needs to be voted off board. Totally inept to be on board. Scott Holmes also needs to be voted out. Ran on platform totally disregarded it and got his wife cushy job. New board needs to replace school supt who has P.E. degree as major. We are better than glorified P.E. teacher running our system. I do find it ironic our athletics teams are no better with person with P.E. background running our day to day operation. Johnson has to go along with Cassel who hired him. Keep Willmore as AD. The principal is reason decisions are made and the man at top need to be shown door since it was on his watch. Willmore does good job in what he is required to do. Allow new school board to put in place people who can help WCHS reach full potential not their brother on street who they will never hold accountable. This will take at least 4-5 years. Until then expect no better results as all the above besides Johnson look out for their backs and each other's so nobody loses that paycheck on Friday. Our kids especially athletic ones will suffer like the ones who came before them. I could expand but this is pipe dream since our county won't have enough back bone to stand up and do these things when time comes
  13. It has been the year for Pioneer football for last 20 years. Hiring local coaches isn't the problem. It is from the top down. Johnson has been a disappointment. All that extra outside money wasn't the answer. Ask Dr. Pepper leader if he thinks his investment has been a good one. Look at all the fiasco this place has brought upon themselves. Tidwell, making Madewell fire coaches, Haston as baseball coach and parent uproar, hiring of Johnson, the newly hired BB coach that they knew nothing about his past, Chris Turner and Pamela Turner scandal, Malcolm Montgomery walking off floor at VB, the hiring of Montgomery and the list could keep going. WC is just really bad at putting right people in place. Ever thought those people should be the ones who go away If coachT survives 10 more years we could use same thread in the future. It never changes people.
  14. Being a MondayAmQB I will just say the one stat that matters is the scoreboard. Win and loss column is the way you get to playoffs the way you win district titles and reason coaches lose their jobs normally. It's evident the losses will continue to mount for the Pioneers. They gave their all last night on Homecoming against a traditional rival and yet again they sit 1-4 in win loss column with more Ls coming on future Friday nights. We all have seen this song and dance before. Remember before our two supposedly pro sport school board commissioners were elected how the losses mounted and how they said they would make sure that changed. How our new supt. of schools said sports especially revenue producing teams were a top priority. What has changed. Let me as a MondayAMQB tell you. Nothing. The ones mentioned above have helped their family members and friends, but what have they truly done to help our sons be successful on Friday night different than the others they replaced. Nothing. The scapegoat will be head coach and maybe he needs to be fired. The point is the people truly in charge hired him and now will point finger instead of accepting responsibility. The good ole boy network is still alive and well in every phase of this community. Look in paper Friday. Read between the lines people. Our school administration can't get ACT scores up to avg state level. They can't help our revenue producing football team be successful. Look how many dollars we spend on our kids every year in every phase including new schools newly created positions etc. and at end of day results are below avg sometimes down right failing. This has been going on and on since early 90s. It is this MondayAMQB opinion it won't change until we start holding those truly in charge to fire.
  15. The more things change the more things stay the same at good ole WC. Parents bickering over who should play losses mounting up like 2 week ole laundry a coach whose seat is hotter than an August afternoon in the hayfield and people already asking what can be done to change it. The answer: IT WONT Its Warren County people. They went out filled the money bags for this coaching staff of experts years back like everyone said would work. Did It? NO Its Warren County They know lil if any on how to run a HS football program. Actually they know lil about how to run any programs in WC. Go back and look year after year. Its so obvious. Yall keep working hard believing in those who make those high quality decisions to help those WC kids be successful on the field. Hate it for the kids, but players understand this. Your school system equips you guys with one hand tied behind your back every year and has for many years. The results prove it, but you WC people keep drinking the Jim Jones Juice of hope next season. Maybe one day they will get it right. Its Warren County.
