  1. Stone coach gonna need a wheelbarrow to carry around their balls after that game! What a game!
  2. Just now really got to watch film of the game. Imagine having a job and a boss. You are exceptional at your job all throughout the year and the company is thriving in profits and revenue. All of a sudden, your boss says the job you are doing is not good enough and changes need to be made. Those changes involve becoming something you never have been and are being asked to do in a short period of time. It also shows you have to practice and practice to become that ‘thing ‘ you wish to become in less than a week. Two even teams with Upperman being out coached is my honest assessment. Upset cause we had all the opportunities to make it to state for the first time but coaches outcoached and should have let players play and do what they do best.
  3. So I guess UT fans should quit taunting Lane Kiffin too, right? Just saying
  4. Looks like Sevier Co. will be making an early exit out of from the playoffs. Chicken County's defense didn't even allow that many points against Cookeville and Monterey only gave them a couple touchdowns more. 42 points from Cookeville is an explosion of points. Just saying.
  5. Fulton by as many as they want. Ignore stats and records they are still best in state.
  6. Two initials: ND. and if you are an official that explains a lot.
  7. Officiating in this game was awful and we will just leave it at that. Clearly if you are a team like Upperman and average a lot of penalties in the regular season, the refs will be drooling to throw a flag on you. However, if you are on the other team, you can horse collar people on kickoff team and tackle blitzing linebackers and nothing will be called. They actually managed to call a chop block on Grundy, but there should have been plently more.
  8. I heard Westmoreland's cheerleading squad stinks to high heaven...just saying.
  9. Tough loss for Dekalb, however, this was a really good team. I watched the Knox Catholic vs Tyner film online and Knox blew them off the ball all night long. There's a lot of things for this team to work on: Jennings growing as a leader and being tougher, Milan becoming a complete running back instead of trying to bounce it outside every other play just to name a few, but overall, a lot of potential for next season. I know I said Coach Trapp is an overrated coach but you cannot underestimate getting kids excited to play, and that is what he has done. You guys have some humble fans, you know where you have came from, unlike some other teams. I'd like to see you guys close to the top of the district next season.
  10. BTW i made a visit to Smith Co today to play in the Dennis Croslin flag football tournament at Gordonsville High School. I was REALLY hoping chicken co. would have a team so maybe Antwan and Termite could show me how to play some ball. I guess they probably couldn't get their fat tails off the computer or they were still sulking from Friday night. Maybe basketball season will be better....snicker.
  11. Really surprised Tyner could only muster up 20 points against that horrendous chicken co. D.
  12. I just now read it cause it just popped up as the most recent comment. I've read this comments all year about having York late in games, and frankly, at this point it doesn't matter. IMO the kid from Fulton should win it, throw all the stats out. Tired of reading about it, which is normally what I do instead of commenting. I know where Mr. Postman 'Stampus Lickus' is coming from now. I'm just saying I wouldn't be worried about who Mr. Football is, I would be worried about Tyner coming to town so I could get another shot at York. I also happen to work with people who are from Smith Co. who have kids/players/relatives that play football and have heard those comments so I don't know where they are getting that from since the two most knowledgable ppl in Smith Co. are commenting on it and I hope you are right. In 21 hours, none of this will matter anways.
  13. I'm just here to tell you just cause you have 1,111,000 posts doesn't make you a high school football guru like you think you are. Wishing Tyner the best of luck tomorrow night. One word will summarize this game. DEFENSE... cause y'all ain't got none.
  14. Have heard alot of ppl refer to the guy I'm referring to as 'Juice'. What does 1988 have to do with 2013 anyways. If I was you I'd be worrying about Tyner anyways. This game happened weeks ago.
  15. Ha yea, I wonder why they call him 'Juice'. Might be why he hasn't been as impressive this year cause he had to get off the juice. Hoping Tyner makes him look like a 'medicore' high school player like Pearl Cohn did when I watched him fumble in the red zone when they were driving for the winning score.
  16. Lol no, ole Dickie won't forfeit. It's just been a long, rough season for them.Lots of injuries throughout the season.
  17. Forget TSSAA paying out. It should be Alcoa using the $500 pay from the kids who live outside their zone that come and play for them to pay York, a state-funded school who has almost been shut down in the past few years for financial reasons. Doesn't make sense these two teams should be allowed on the same field.
  18. Got a question for you guys. Thought LA called a great game, up until the near 50 yard field goal attempt. I know this is in hindsight, but still, why even attempt that? Yes, if you hit it, it would have put LA up 4 and made UHS have to score a TD. The kid might hit it all the time in practice, however, with poor field conditions, to say the least, cold and damp night, the ball barely made it to the end zone. Gave UHS great field position for the winning drive. When they lined up in FG formation I was expecting a fake and a pooch punt for a coffin kick to pin them deep, make them drive the whole field. Just wondered what others thought.
  19. MC will have a good game plan for you guys, they are well coached but just lack the firepower. Hoping to see DC handle them to set up a great game in Baxter next Friday.
  20. Cates might have played a tougher schedule too. Played in the old 4-3a 'super region' which was the current region including Portland and TC up through his junior year then played all the East TN teams his senior year. I did see him get his helmet knocked off and cry when he was a freshman so he loses some mystique to me, but he was definitely a rare talent who was enjoyable to watch but you hated to play against.
  21. The question is what will SC have returning this next season? Seems to me as if SC will be losing the 2nd most behind UHS. I watched the UHS/SC jv game earlier this year and nothing stood out to me for SC but you can't always tell with those cause there's some kids playing that will never touch the field for varsity. Termite, as bad as it sounds, people would still talk about 96 like it was yesterday, until now. You can talk all you want about 5, 10, 15 years ago. At least for me there's no time like the present. You guys are right though, there's still a lot to prove for this season, for UHS and SC both.
