  1. I don't know anything about Region 6 but other than Lipscomb, 5 doesnt have much. Very competitive but Cheatham and Spring Hill will both probably be dominated and don't be surprised to see 9-1 Giles County go down either.
  2. Last night, Marshall County's Donta' Hightower absolutely crushed Giles County's Sam Edgmon as he ran down the side line and flew through the air...of course he ran for about 360 something more yards afterwards...Wow. How can u seriously let a runningback run for 366 yards against you in one game??? Amazingly good job Sam...Atleast the Tigers played with some spirit for once against their rival...That one got sparked up again
  3. Marshall County's season went down the drain when they blew the lead at home against a Page team they should have blown out. From there, its gone from ugly to fugly. The hype of this team was as high as ever but its been the most disappointing i can remember. The talent on the field is obvious i just don't think they want it near enough. Lipscomb by......40. 55-15
  4. Oh thanks. I didn't realize all those teams were city teams.
  5. 19-0 after 3?!?! in the substate game!?!? Wow, thats insane. Did USJ play insanely good with a bad Mitchell pitcher or what? Thats crazy.
  6. Id say David Lipscomb. From what I saw against Marshall County, Lipscomb didn't look like a championship team but a decent team that could be in the state tourney. I haven't seen Harpeth this year.
  7. For the Tigers, I think it should be noted that Seth Lintz threw a great game, allowing just two hits along with 10 Ks in 6 innings. He walked a lot of batters, none of which scored. He made one bad pitch, the solo homerun on the first pitch of the bottom of the fifth inning. Tough game Tigers, I know your disappointed. You can go a lot farther with your returning players next season ... Oh yeah...I know it also says one hit in the Tennessean, but I can think of at least two hits for MC. Maybe there was a very very tough scorekeeper.
  8. After 2 innings pitched for Merry, MC has no hits and 1 strikeout with no walks. After 1 1/3 pitched for Lintz, DL has no hits, 2 strikeouts with 2 walks. Currently, DL has one runner on first (from the walk) in the bottom of the 2nd with one out and no count on the current batter. Thats where it will pick up tomorrow @ 4:00 at DL University (not the high school)
  9. Marshall County has been fairly inconsistent this year with either hitting or defense (more so defense than hitting). BUT!, that being said, when Marshall has put it together this year, the team has looked very very good. A good outing (which he often has) from Sophomore pitcher Seth Lintz and the Tigers ARE going to be in this game with a great chance of victory. I know this would be a so-called "upset", but upsets in baseball make the sport, and in a one-game format who knows what could happen. Get the W and GO TIGERS!!!!!!!
  10. Sounds like a tough game for Loretto. I was hoping to see them move on to hopefully have a rematch with Marshall County who plays Tuesday at 4:00 @ David Lipscomb. Even though I couldn't stand Loretto on the field, I know its got to be tough for a team with such high expectations.

    Spring Hill

Spring Hill finishes 3rd in district 10AA after finishing the regular season (moving down from AAA) strong but finished fourth in the district tourney after beating Lewis Co. 2-1, losing to Marshall County 3-1, and losing to Giles County 15-5. I don't think Spring Hill has a great tradition but they return a solid core of players next year that should compete for the district title. I hadn't heard of a vacany though.
  12. MC only lost one significant contributor from last years pitching but this year Marshall only has 4 pitchers that they can rely on.
  13. Which game or games are you referring to?
  14. Is it supposed to rain all day or what?
  15. This game should be great. You can never guarantee a close game but I would bet on this one being close, and very heated. If you saw either one of their two regular season games, you should know that these two teams don't exactly like each other. I sure hope the rain holds off and these two good teams go at it Wednesday night. Go Tigers! Keep hittin the ball! Play some D too, that will be very important. Errors won't slip by tomorrow night.
