  1. That is correct. In A/AA girls soccer, for the previous 5 years, including the 2013-14 school year, there have been 40 state tournament slots. 22 have gone to private schools and 18 to public schools. Something that is often overlooked is the breakdown between A and AA schools in sports where the two are combined to form A/AA. Keep in mind, in football, this would be four different classes. In those same 5 years, the breakdown between A and AA schools is 36 AA and 4 A. Boys soccer is similar over the past four years: 32 slots, 14 private, 18 public. 29 AA, 3 A. I'm going to be releasing a study in the next week to 10 days on the state tournament and championship breakdown between private/puiblic, combined classes breakdowns, and rural/metro across all sports in TSSAA over the last five years. Should be interesting.
  2. It seems to be working now. Saw both goals. The woman on the phone with the NFHS network was very nice and helpful. Offered a full refund if it didn't get worked out before the match end.
  3. The feed is not working well. Just spoke with someone from the NFHS network and the was told the internet upload at the game site was not good today.
  4. Field conditions were average. Embarrassing and disgraceful that several of the goalmouths had a 4 yard by 6 yard area of cat litter on them. No excuse for that. The fields are 120x75. Very poor that nobody thought it a good idea to shorten the length of the field by 3-4 yards on each side to get the goals on to grass rather than a cat box.
  5. White House was fantastic last year. Their fan support and turnout last year at CCS was excellent and they didn't disappoint. They were a but down this year, but still a good side. Saw them play as well as seeing Fairview this year and was very surprised that Fairview won that sectional match. Even with getting blown out 8-0 by Knox Catholic, Fairview coach Kevin Sizemore should be proud of his team as they were the first team in any sport to reach a state championship.
  6. This is the first time (recently) it's been at a multifield complex. I've always liked how they play one match at a time at CCS as it feels more like a proper tournament. The schedule this year is how they do it for the boys and it makes everything feel like just another club team event, with numerous matches taking place at the same time. Not sure if it will ever get back to CCS as they destroyed their lovely soccer field.
  7. The only stipulation is that teams from the same region (and by definition, district as well) are played on different sides of the bracket. This year, CAK-KC, CCS-ND, CPA-Fv, L-JC all came from the same regions so they had to be on opposite sides. The only area with teams from different districts was middle Tennessee.
  8. A/AA KC CAK CCS ND CPA Fairview (big upset over White House) Jackson Christian Liberty All of these pairs will be opposite sides of the bracket, as pair is from the same region. In the case of all except CPA and Fairview, each pair is from the same district. They have always posted empty brackets which show start times but they have not done so this year. Does anyone know if they are going to do the same format, where only one match in each class is played at a time with them starting around 11am... or is it going to be like the boys, where everything is going on at the same time and it feels like a glorified club team tournament?
  9. That is correct as CPA and White House were both in Region 5 from 2009-12. With the new districts, White House is still in 5, but CPA is in 6 so for the next four years, they can potentially be on the same side of the bracket.
  10. Teams from the same region (and by definition, district as well) have to be on different sides of the bracket. So yes, if KC and CAK both win, they could not face each other again until the finals. Same with CCS and ND. If the other 4 region winners from middle Tennessee and the west win, they could end up on the same side as each other. Ex: White House and CPA could be on the same side as well as Jackson Christian and Dyersburg.

  14. Accidentally posted twice.
  15. So more or less like a private school, except without the $10k invoice each year.
