Not trying to say the outcome would have been different, but that was the worst officiated game I've seen all year, and I've seen a lot of bad ones this year. We made some dumb personal fouls, don't get me wrong, but there was times when Dekalb should have got a few too, especially when #12, who was out of the game standing on the sidelines, took a cheap shot on our safety/qb when he was chasing Dekalb's quarterback out of bounds. Also, the official's calling the play dead right before the half on the interception was downright awful. You never blow a play dead like that. I don't understand how calls can be made like that and you still have your officiating license. Anyways, I don't want to sound like the officials completely controlled the game. Upperman had every opportunity to win the game but kept shooting themselved in the foot on other things besides personal fouls. Those were two young teams who really wanted this game bad and that might have contributed to the chippy play on both sides.
