  1. Where is the drama? This is a conversation. I didn't say anything about his coaching style, just that Shane is a superior x and o coach. Hutchens does a fine job.
  2. Yea that's correct. Don't care about recruiting.
  3. That 28-7 vs CAK isn't 28-7 vs Shane so that's not really relevant. With you coaching at Catholic you should defend Hutchins but anyone around the area that knows coaching will tell you that Shane is far an away a better at x and o's.
  4. In Shane Wells time at CAK they've never even had a D2 scholarship player, far superior coach to Hutchins. Since Catholic and CAK have been in the same district, CAK is 6-3 vs Catholic. CAK has beaten Catholic the past two years in the district title game, one time on Catholic's home court. Duncan at Heritage is an excellent coach.
  5. I'd add Ricky Norris at Webb and Eldridge at Maryville to the above. Those are the 5 best coaches in Knoxville area.
  6. Not sure what school but he's gone.
  7. Hale has moved to Georgia so that will really hurt AE.
  8. Shane Chambers, the assistant coach, was named HC.
  9. I'd have to think there is an excellent chance of that happening.
  10. You would think this would be a very attractive job
  11. Here is the question: what is recruiting?
  12. Yea, I'm going to throw a bunch of high school kids names out on a message board to prove a point to you.
  13. My old high school in Knoxville used to win 20 plus games almost ever year. They haven't had a winning season in like 5 years. It's because kids in that sport don't want to play for the coach because he's terrible so if they are serious about that sport they are going to different schools.
  14. On top of that, go look at the facilities at Oak Ridge, Alcoa, Maryville, Farragut, Hardin Valley, Bearden, Science Hill, DB, Fulton, Greeneville among others and tell me which private school has better facilities. Kids go where there are quality coaches and a winning program. My old high school used to be really good at basketball but are terrible now because kids don't want to play for the coach.
  15. There are just as many public schools that have advantages are there are private schools. Several years ago Micah Goss transferred from Hardin Valley to Fulton and was instantly eligible. I believe he even transferred after school started. He was all-state at Fulton. Last year Kelvin Jackson transferred from Fulton to Carter where he was all-state. Neither one of these kids would have been able to do that going to a private school. Galen Campbell transferred from Bearden to Fulton... several years ago Bearden recruited more than anyone until they were forced to get rid of the assistant doing it.
  16. AA Mr Basketball convo should begin and end with Braxton Blackwell.
  17. I know one of kids at Kingston, last time I talked to him they had a meeting and Colt stepped down. Another poster says Colt's coming back so must have changed his mind.
  18. Kingston had Thompson back but lost their best player, Scott loses Butts. I just don't ever see those two being able to compete with Catholic, CAK and Alcoa. As usual it'll be a three team race. Over the past several years at least a team or two from this region goes to state and with Carter falling back it could be Catholic or CAK's turn. Alcoa has talent, just depends how well they play together and if they are bought in and play with discipline. Talked to someone at CAK at the 6'4 football player who has a Nebraska offer might end up playing this year.
  19. Maybe he changed his mind. it's a fact that they had a team meeting where Colt told them he wasn't returning. I don't care either way. Colt's a good coach though and Kingston is lucky to hav him.
  20. He did step down, he even told the players. It's not posted because there is a hiring freeze in the county I believe.
  21. He stepped down for sure, have no clue why.
  22. Colt is not at Kingston?
  23. The only player CAK loses from last year's team is Lucas Campbell. CAK was actually younger than Catholic last year. I think losing Jancek and Anderson? will be tough to replace for Catholic. Alcoa is the wildcard to me. They have some really great looking players; biggest question is how motivated they are and do they play as a team consistently? As far as a top 3 in any district in E. TN this might be the toughest. There should be some amazing battles. Too close to call as far as who comes out on top to me... should be exciting!
