If the split happens, why don't the private schools form an athletic association separate from the TSSAA and then they do whatever they want? IMO a split could end up being worse the public than they feel it is with the current set up. To me this opens the door for private schools to really start recruiting and taking even more kids.

Is it illegal to go to AAU games? What is the rule on that or what did they do wrong?

I will say it's tough to win in that district with Catholic and CAK plus the schedule they played with a team that young. Catholic at least had the benefit of a few really good seniors which Alcoa didn't have... Alocoa will or should have a nice team next year.

Curious to see if anything happens with Blevins, he's been there a long time and has been flirting with other opportunities the past couple of years.

The layoff for the other district might not hurt until playing back-to-back Tues and Weds and then especially Thurs. 10 days off is a long time and then trying to play two or three in a row. First games on Tues the legs should be fine, it's Weds and Thurs where it could be a factor.

Have to think for teams around the area these are going to be some sloppy games; you never know how kids respond to being out of school and the long lay off.

But if Farragut had a really good coach they'd keep kids like Oteriah Lee and Davari Reeder among others.

Good question. Young-ish coaches... Shane Wells and Ricky Norris, don't know if either would be interested? Jeff County has a good young coach but don't know why he'd want to leave for Farragut? Wallace at AC hasn't won a lot lately but he's a good coach... First three that come to mind.

Let's take a break from Carter and talk about Farragut. Cool has done nothing with that program; if they want a winning program surely he's on the hot seat.

Have no clue where, but they don't have the talent coming up they've had the past two years and the coach has called multiple people saying he's looking to move after this year.

Carter is 99.99% going to be open. West has supposed to come open for several years. Wouldn't be surprised if Hardin Valley opens up.

Fair point but figured they had enough players to be better than winning just 9 games.

I saw Hardin Valley play earlier in the year, looked like they had some nice players. They even beat Carter, anyone know what happened to them this year?

Ok, was just curious. I thought I heard at one time they were able to move down to AA as an exception during this cycle then had to move back up... I could totally be making that up though.

Catholic, CAK and Alcoa are as strong of a top 3 in any district around starting next year.

I agree, Catholic has the best players (depth) in Knoxville.

CAK was also without Reynolds when Catholic beat them.

Catholic is easily the most talented team in the district.

That's not a dunk you see very often in East Tenn.

Teeter is going to be tough to stop, Alcoa will have a size advantage for sure. Will be an interesting match up between the two.
