  1. thats what I been trying to say!good words kev-o
  2. we are always looking for someone to fill our schedule. I can get you coach Ballard phone number if you would like to get on the schedule
  3. carter, Knox central , catholic Fulton or Greeneville would have blown you out in that game!truth!
  4. Yes irishball, that's my point! Sorry I didn't quote firebird comment about the greenedevils being done. That catholic and Greeneville game was a great game (for three quarters)
  5. Played catholic at their peak in the season and all tied up 21-21 at the end of third. They didn't get the breaks they needed late in the game they needed but still a better contest than what your team provided
  6. How can you say that about Greeneville? The only losses they have in 4a has come to the hands of that years state champs! And was by no means a blow out like the east west match ups that happen in cookeville. You just hope they done!

  8. Good luck to your team. Might win it all with ZERO RESPECT. No hatin here just calling a spade a spade. Marshall County might just stick it to your Catholic boys this week. Maybe the refs will be watching his punching a little closer. Would hate for another ejection to occur like Greenback.
  9. Huh after seeing it in person and then again and again on HUDL you can say what you want. He was punching right after he told Dabbs he was gonna break his N***** A**. The boy has size and a legacy and that's it but acts like trash. Like I said he will go to UT or some other D1 school and they will either make him what they want or cut him loose. That's what D1 programs do. They recruit on size and size alone. You eventually have to prove yourself. He is big and slow and NASTY in how he plays. I am surprised that his coaches tolerate his behavior. There were Catholic parents saying Friday night how he isn't well liked on the team and I see why.
  10. This will be a dogfight for sure. Marshall Co needs to watch the Mays kid closely. He can get very aggressive and throws lots of punches, literally. He holds alot and is a big slow body and not what I expected with all the hype around him. I saw him get trucked several times against Greeneville. He also loves to taunt the fans on the opposing side. He is young and will mature hopefully as his high school playing progresses. Ofcourse UT will either make him what they want or cut him loose so time will tell. They say his dad is the same way so I guess he gets it honestly. Rodgers was impressive when he got his hands on the ball for sure but again not what I expected. Wood, Rowen, and Kuershchen were the unsung heros of that game. They did great and won the football game for KC.
  11. Let me say this to you chsbobcat09. One of our fans sitting on your side was our Mayor of Greeneville. During the first quarter one of your coaches was screaming the F bombs at your players over and over again. Our Mayor stood up and asked him to please watch his language that there were people that didn't want to hear that. Your coach them turned around and pointed at our Mayor and said F*** Y**. Our Mayor then went and got 2 policeman on duty that had to come on the sidelines and speak to your coach about his behavior. I saw many of our fans on the field after the game patting your boys and your coaches on the back telling them what a good game they played. Which they did. They were a tough team. I would say just put your tail between your legs now and zip it but bobcats don't have tails. GO DEVILS!
  12. Greeneville does have a kids program, 2 programs actually. They have a strong group of middle schoolers, Season & Conference Champions, and a group with the Boys & Girls Club. They are part of TMSAA so the middle schoolers are unable to wrestle AAU until after the season concludes. Then the middle schoolers hit it heavy. Greeneville Wrestling has a bright future with the young talent coming up. Should make for some good matches on the high school mat.
  13. Teonna thank you but you don't have to apologize for Mr. Omstead. You are the second Alcoa parent to apologize to me actually. The other parent witnessed what happened at the regionals when Mr. Omstead yelled down at me after my son got beat by Evans, "Bet your glad you didn't bet me now". I just kept walking. I do not like the situation with Evans and did attempt to take it to TSSAA but the decision was done. My stance was that allowing Evans to wrestle took away someone's chance to be a champion that has wrestled on their team all season. It would not have been my son either, it would have been Pressley from Signal Mtn. My son said Evans was very nice and respectful when they chatted. Your son is a great wrestler and I hated to see him get beat in the finals. There are many good wrestlers on your team.
  14. This is the parent you want to give the most classless parent award to. Let me clarify the situation. The night of regionals the only Alcoa person I spoke with was a Jim Omstead. Mr. Omstead and I were just talking about who we were there to watch and he said Evans and I said my son. I told him that I didn't agree with that situation only because that night was his first match on Alcoa's team. He hadn't been there all year to earn a place at regionals. Mr. Omstead said it was for personal reasons and then tried to make a money bet with me that Evans would beat my son and everybody else in that gym for that matter. I informed him that I didn't bet on high school sports and then moved to another seat. There was no speaking to or intimidating any 13 year old kid, unless Mr. Omstead is 13. My son got teched 15-0 in the second period and finished runner-up. It was ugly. Evans is a great wrestler. He is not who to blame here. He did tell my son at the state tournament that the reason he came back here was so he could retake his fat test when he dropped to 195 to wrestle nationally. He said in California he couldn't retake it as he had already tested there. I have no idea if that is true or not but it's what he told my son. Please don't make up mistruths on this message board and hide behind you username. Thank you.
  15. The fact that he would be allowed to come in here and take anyone's chance away is a shame. Most boys have fought in this region all year for a shot. It's just not right bottom line, unless you are totally unethical......
  16. Never be mad about a kid's success. Success is a direct result of hard work, which is evident here. I saw many successful wrestlers this weekend. What is disappointing is the absolute disregard for right vs. wrong all for a state title win. That is our responsibility as adults to teach our kids right vs. wrong and the value of EARNING respect.
  17. Evans might get OW in California when he flies back week after next. No coach, besides Alcoa, would vote for this situation. The boys on the mat yesterday, with the exception of Evans, have lived here all season and wrestled here all season. This tournament was Evans first showing in TN. Now, if he stays here maybe next year he will get OW. That is if he doesn't get blackballed.
