  1. krich - write down this number 35 - a true D-1 player. That is also what Dickson can score on any given night
  2. I thought the real story for the clones was the play of the two freshmen off the bench. #11 is super quick. It looks like the clones will continue their winning ways this year.
  3. GLee Go on to KY! We have heard your negitave comments for the last 4 years about everything. Good luck to P. I hope that he has as much success in college as he had at EHS.

  6. Coachh17 The women's chorus won the lottery and will sing the National Anthem prior to the Championship on Saturday night (6:15 I think) Is this prophetic?
  7. The single A is at CD-High School. The double AA is at CD-MIDDLE SCHOOL
  8. Just to let you know Jarrod Payne an Elizabethton baseball player asked that Merissa be remembered in prayer prior to tonights Elizabethton - South Green boys District 1 quarterfinal game.
  9. Krich, Thanks for your kind post but the credit belongs to Mr. Duane Ryan who does the announcing for the Lady Cyclones. About 18 years ago when we went to the 4 games a night format Duane was kind enough to start to announce the Lady Cyclones. I do the boys and girls JV and then take a break during the girls varsity and come back for the boys varsity. You are not the only person who has been fooled by this arrangement as we sound very much alike. GO CYCLONES
  10. The second G-P vs Claiborne game was posponed due to the weather. I understand it will be played on Tuesday.
  11. King I hate to disagree with you but Elizabethton has much to be proud of. We have football, mens and womens cross country, womens vollyball, men and womens basketball, mens and womens soccer, mens wrestling, womens softball, mens baseball, mens and womens track, mens and womens swimming, mens and womens golf, cheerleading, the betsy band, and womens chorus. Additionally we have about 850 great students who are active and involved in their studies and extra-curricular activities. We don't win every game or match but every time we play we play it is with pride. GO CYCLONES
  12. Lady Cyclones put on a clinic in the second half tonight by beating Science Hill 51-36. This makes their record 16 and 5 for the year and the senior class is 100-23 over their career. Great job ladies. I look forward to #101 on Friday.
  13. Cap 1 go back to sleep. EHS - Johnson Co is FRIDAY at Betsy.
  14. Go to the TSSAA website for all the possiblities. http://www.tssaa.org/2006Champions/StateFo...bilities.htm#4A
  15. Knox Holston in '67 and it seems we had a win over Oak Ridge after that in late 60's early 70's( Goddard era) but I am missing a few years in that time. If I can find it I'll let you know.
  16. Mikey65 - You are correct on the "93. Actually three teams left the old big 10. Science Hill & D. B. became 5A and Volunteer to Region 2-4A. The Big 10 was called the Big 7 for a couple of years and then become the Mt. Lakes. In '92 EHS played in a post season bowl game (Lenore City). Fan - Good to see you. It won't be long now.
  17. Pless is Elizabethton born and bred. Graduated from EHS in '77. Was Dave Riders QB in his first year at EHS. Scholarshiped(as kicker) at ETSU and later attended Carson Newman. After graduation was hired as football coach at T.A. Dugger Junior High. He coached the EHS "glory years" teams at the 7th and 8th grade years. Later moved to EHS football staff while a teacher at Dugger as QB coach on Riders staff. Later was O coordinator for both Rider and Jenkins. Was named acting head coach when Jenkins illness prevented him from coaching. Accepted the head coach in 04 and is in this third year.
  18. [quote "Who scores the 1st TD? Sylvester, Barnes, Throp, Sensabaugh, Burton, Pappas, Burnette?? Checked with Hoople and he is laying odds on Bo Burton on a keeper. " ] Also could be Jenkins, Loving, Fuqua, Hyder, or Hutchins but I'm laying odds on Smith on a keeper

  21. Elizabethton won tonight 60-23 over Sullivan North. Unicoi and Happy Valley both won big and South Green in a squeeker over Chucky Doak.
  22. SG called and canceled the girls JV. I don't know what reason they gave. They played the boys JV. Betsy lost by about 5. I didn't get there for that one.
  23. Coachh17 Saw you on here and thought would pass on the score EHS and South Green. Betsy won by 1 in overtime. Wasn't a thing of beauty! No girls JV. Boys lost in overtime by around 10. S
  24. I saw this stunt used on two occasions by the same coach. Late in the game in a loosing effort when his team was down far too much to catch up and feeling that the game had been poorly officiated, he called time out following a made basket. When the teams returned to the floor he had two defensive players in the forecourt who immediately double teamed the official as the ball was entered into play. With arms raised the two defenders managed to box the official in to the corner. As eight players and one official raced to the other end of the court the flabbergasted official still boxed in at the end line blew his whistle and turned to the coach and demanded to know what was going on. The coach calmly replied that his old coach told him “when you are getting beat you should double team the one who is hurting you the most”. Needless to say he was hit with a technical but he did make his point.
