What happened with that kid that left? He is one that somehow I missed hearing about leaving until it was over.

I do have one question for anyone with MJ. Why didn't the numbers on the field get painted this week? It looked sloppy for a team that always has a nice looking field.

I think the players are not in position to make things happen. The games I've seen so far is they need more than one play maker on offense. The kid they have playing qb is dangerous but surely he can't be the only play maker on the team. Running that Hayes kids off was a mistake if that is what happened. Regardless he is no longer on the team and the staff had no one to replace him with but a kid that can only run? Seriously? I could understand if it were Watertown that lost their qb and didn't have a replacement, but at a school that size they don't have a sophomore to at least throw the ball? When you have freshman and jv teams that won as much as they do where are those qb's? I'm just not sure but there is something odd about this program.

I couldn't imagine marrying into that family. The kids love him though. Everything I hear about him through the middle school is top notch. It doesn't sound like people those at cane ridge are still very fond of parks after last week's thread. I don't know much about him though.

I'm really a little shocked by this game. The offense didn't look like they wanted any tonight. I would like to see some stats for MJ's offense. It's hard to have a good defense when you have such a mediocre offense. What happened to the qb from last year? Great job by Ravenwood btw. Way to give it all you got! I wonder if TP is yelling at his coaches yet for screwing something up.

I think Ravenwood is a little down this year under a new coach. I think MJ by 2 scores. MJ didn't play the best football last week, but neither did CR. CR came away with the win and MJ and Ravenwood are both licking their wounds from difficult losses. I think that MJ will be the one that will bounce back the best by Friday. They must find a passing game or a guaranteed playoff appearance will be short lived. I do think that the power (type) of offense is what has been needed for a little while. I look forward to a good game this week.

How is MJ returning all their starters?

I am a Hendersonville fan but I want my community to get behind our local program here. It has gotten worse over the past 3 years and I'm tired of seeing the kids getting lost in the mix of tp's grudges and Napoleon complex. His father was a good coach but it doesn't mean he will be. I hope for success for our kids but it takes more leadership from the hc for that to happen. I grew up watching Bruce Hatfield on the sidelines and leading his players not belittling them.

I'm sorry that I wasn't here to respond as soon as you would have liked. I guess you have nothing better to do. I have always said that I hope MJ had a great season, but I don't feel the hc will ever come out from his father's shadow while he is always looking over his shoulder. I think both teams looked bad at times Gallatin was just worse and I'll agree that it looks like special teams are neglected by Gallatin's coaching staff. MJ will never survive 6a football with a one dimensional offense and a defense that gives up over 250 yards to one player. I don't think that the MJ defense looked as good as Gallatin looked bad and couldn't convert opportunities. Tp has a long way to go this year especially with CR next week. They have a lot more athletes than MJ does. I'll just have to see it to believe it because it's been nothing but disappointment in this city since little p took over.

It helps when James Wilhoit is your kicking coach. I did notice they took away his st coordinator title away from him though

I don't know anything about cr but you might be right. I think he is already on the seat I just don't know how hot Mel will let it get, but then again he needs to get control of the school as well.

So it's time for week 0. It seems like it took forever for football season to get here this year. At this point MJ has FIVE former/current head coaches on the staff and it sounds like they have too many rosters and not enough chickens, or one little rooster that can't keep it all together. I still hope they have a good season for the kids. They make the playoffs regardless. I agree with mj about how things go silent when nothing goes their way. They have to get it together! This town doesn't really care anymore from what I'm hearing. When you live in a town this size and you can't have standing room only at every game it is a message being sent. I think they need to put their strength coach in charge of the offense,but what do I know. He just seems to be someone all the kids will play for. TP takes advantage of him because he is an alumni and brother in law. We will see how things turn out this year but my thought is 4-6 5-5. I think Gallatin has mj's number the same way mj has centrals. He just can't beat them. I'll check back later to see everyone's thoughts.

He was the one that said the o line was overhyped. I am just giving a reason as to why. I would like to know why they are getting whipped like they are? All things start in the weight room. Must be a problem somewhere. Ask the former coaches who have left what is going on. I'm sure they would tell you the truth. I bet WCP could give some insight.

Tp doesn't have any control of this team. He thinks he had everything under control, but had a coaching staff that hates him and players who he thinks are too dumb to realize they don't get along when they see through the smoke screen. This is a team that played in a weak region and still couldn't find it's identity. They had 5 games where they played some really weak teams and won. Overton is the only team the beat with a winning record. It's sad they are not the best team in Wilson county. They did not earn a playoff spot and got lucky to host the first round. If they do get past the first round they will get the Whitehaven treatment. I was working out the other day at Graves and saw some former players. It looked as if they were never taught how to lift properly. Lots of weight on the bar with no technique on how to lift. Squats only about 3/4 of the way down, hands as wide as possible while benching and throwing hips off the bench as high as possible. It looked like you could stand a ruler under them. If they are teaching lifting like that no wonder they are getting man handled up front because they have no real strength. It is like tp's coaching ability, a joke. The kids are tired of being dogged out because Tp does no wrong and blames his players when they lose. He throws chairs and temper tantrums in film sessions like a 3 year old. Unloads on his coaches in front of the players. Talks about how Christ has changed his life but treats his brothers as if he is better than them. If this is what you want your kids to play for then go for it. I'm sure Mel has enough to worry about with his kids going crazy and wearing tight pants. This school has turned from a respectable school with good traditions to a circus act that makes the news a lot more that any school.

Sackmaster, what have you heard from the players? I was just wondering if it is the same thing I've heard.

So I am now back to resubmit my question from the start of the season. Would mj earn their playoff spot? I'm going with no since their biggest win was over Overton who was also their only win over a team with a winning record. The worst loss will be from Gallatin who ended up 4-6. Sounds like tp has a long off season ahead trying to defend his job. Luckily Mel can get distracted by all the girls in tight pants and will forget about his coach who is inept. Mj just went 5-5 in the weakest region in 6a and maybe 5a.

I hope everyone wins tonight, because when a Wilson county team loses we all lose!
