The only reason a coach should be asked to resign during a season is if he is unable to perform those duties. He says he was and if he was attending practices and games and coaching to the best of his ability then the school was very wrong. I wonder if he had missed a lot of school or a lot of practices and they thought he couldn't handle the work. There are always 2 sides to a story, but if he was in fact doing his job and was fired over a parent complaint then that is awful.

5A Winners- South Doyle Campbell County Anderson County Knox West Oak Ridge Cleveland 6A Winners- Maryville Sevier Dobyns Bennett Science Hill I know people like upsets but the only team I think has the coaching and firepower to do it is MAYBE Cleveland who I gave a small edge to primarily because they have won 3 of their last 4 and are playing at home. Clevelands tough schedule has them prepared to get past Clinton. No disrespect to the Dragons, but I think Cleveland being at home and playing tougher teams gives them an edge.

My Prediction is similar to everyone else's. Alcoa over Notre Dame and CPA over Milan. I think Alcoa beats CPA by only one score though. Alcoa will keep a stranglehold over 3A for another year.....actually until Rankin retires.

Cannon had key injuries as well. Bottom line is one team showed up to play and the other didn't. Also for the first time this year Cannon did not shoot theirselves in the foot over and over. People have been hard on Coach Daniel but you can not deny that in the past, CC wouldve rolled over and waited for the season to be over. There is something to be said about a team going from a 61-0 L vs. Livingston to a W over Smith County. Better late than never. The Last 2 games should be interesting.

Are we really writing Cannon off this early? I'd like to think they could compete. Is there anything positive going on in Woodbury?

Thanks DC Tiger. Well good for Cannon. Dont know much about them but they were pretty decent a few years ago right? BTW its nice seein Dekalb winning games and gettin a passionate fanbase. Always thought thatd be a good football town.

Thanks Scooter. I was on it back in highschool about 13 years ago and decided it was time to come back. I agree with what youve said. Would love to see the bottom of the district improve and be competitive. Hopefully Macon can be the first team to do it tho

I agree with the majority of the talk being about Livingston, Dekalb, Smith, and Upperman. These Programs have definitely earned it. I would like to know more about how York, Macon, and Cannon are looking. Maybe the folks in those towns don't have internet access or something but I would like to know which of those 3 has the potential to be a sleeper. Have they improved? How is the new coach doing at York? Will Macon make the jump in the 2nd year of their coaches tenure? Can Cannon at least become respectable? Do people still watch football in these towns or do they just sleep until Basketball season?
