  1. Job well done Vikes. No quit and made a great game of it. This team is head and shoulders above last years team. I see them being competitive in every game this year. #80 is a player , #19 has an arm , and Carter is most athletic on the field. If can get all 3 on field at same time that will make some DC rethink their game plan. Looking forward to a good season.
  2. Vikings come out excited and play hard. No secret that stopping Carter is key to beating THS (central knows this). Vikes show heart early but game is over by the half. Tough game to open with. Good thing for Vikes is that next week the tide will turn. Let's hope for injury free game for both sides and safe travels to and from Knox.
  3. Vikings have nowhere to go but up. Very disappointing start to the season. Vikes continue to lay the ball on the ground just like they did in every scrimmage. I do see the Vikes getting their first win but only because South seems to be worse than they are. Vikes go for 2. Vikes 8 Rebels 7
  4. How did Vikings look vs Greeneville last week and what adjustments will they make for the Cherokee scrimmage this week?
  5. Interesting year for the Vikes. Lose 7 starters on offense and 7 on def. They did find their QB at the end of the year. If they can get him in space this kid can play. Of course, 4 of the 7 on offense were linemen, so running lanes will be limited. Don't see any speed besides him. Defense will be an even bigger issue. 5 of the 7 started 2 or more years. Hard to tell but honest prediction is 3-7.
  6. EMBARRASSING loss for the Vikings. This game should not have been close. Great move by starting #16. Last week was his 1st start. Why did it take 9 games to figure this out. I just don't get it. Yes #36 had a great game but let's not forget how good the THS line is. There are 3 and maybe even 4 all conference linemen blocking for him. The back that should have been in game is #21. He runs just as hard and he's a heck of a lot faster. Yes it is Hard to complain about a 200 yard performance but why in the world did #21 only have 4 carries. #21 would have scored on 4 of the runs that #36 didn't just because of speed and vision. Even the announcers on rivalry Thursday questioned why he didn't get more carries. So once again not having in the correct personnel. I'm not even ask why our 2nd best back (#5) didn't have 1 carry. Next year, once those 4 hogs are gone you will see how good they made some of the backs look. They just made a scout team back look like an all star. Now for the defense, WOW. Where were the safeties. Great run defense but the pass defense was non existent. Don't get me wrong. The QB made some great throws (Ball in back of end zone between 2 defenders) but they made him look like Sevier and Crockett QB's. Maybe #16 should have played safety also. He had the only pick for THS and seemed to be only one to not let a defender behind him. Very sad to see the season come to an end. I hate it for the seniors as this should have been the team that produced like the '04 & '09 teams. Don't see THS having a winning record for next 3 years. GOOD LUCK to all the ET teams.
  7. This looks like an evenly matched game. Of course there is that "magical" line where I81 crosses into I40. Let's see if Vikes can improve from last night. Coaches made good move in starting #16. He made some things happen that weren't there before. Would have liked to have seen what would have happened had #22 not went down on the 2nd play of game. There was a glimpse of hope at RB with #36 getting some hard earned yards. Considering this was #16 first start against a top 10 team in the state I can only see him getting better. If game is going to be played on TV or streamed post link. To far to drive with no kid involved. THS 24 Halls 21
  8. This THS team has the ability to compete with anyone on their schedule BUT there is some major issues going on with the Vikings. I see this one getting out of control pretty quickly. West 35 Vikes 7
  9. 3 scrimmages, 8 games, and 3 quarters to figure out the QB. Cap, I picked up your mic and I just dropped it. SMH..........
  10. I just heard that Sevier County beat Mo West last night. This brings a whole new light to this game. THS is 2 wins away from a 2nd place finish in the conference and another chance for the seniors to play in the castle. I believe we see a new THS team tonight.
  11. Vikings have solid game and Crockett gets a healthy dose of #22. Vikings had nice surprise in #21 last week. Don't know final numbers but believe he out rushed #22. Maybe this will be the key to opening up the offense. How good would it look to spread it out and have 22, 5, 21, and 16 on the field at one time. Vikes 31 pioneers 14
  12. "Almost" feel sorry for Boone! If they didn't play toughest schedule in 5A I would like to know who did.
  13. With #22 at 100% Vikings hang tough for a half. 2nd half THS runs same plays and SC makes adjustments. Edge to Bears but THS is in this game. Keys for THS: #56 makes holes for #22 Fake to #22 & get ball to #5 in space DB's keep SC wr in front them THS don't give up big running plays trying to stop the pass THS offense "ball control"
