  1. Whoa you have me confused with someone else. Not a CA fan, esp when coaches leave starters in until the final minutes to run up a score. Not very classy and another subject beaten to death. I am pulling for NCS but just think it might not be as easy as everyone thinks. Hoping to make it to Nashville to watch a good, clean game Friday night.
  2. Jbalumni81...the score was 35-20. Doesn't sound that close and don't think NCS will score what they want. Think they will have to work for the win this week. On a side note, hope "a very down JB team" comes back strong next season. JB has always been a powerhouse and fun to watch.
  3. Don't think NCS is guaranteed the win and if they do... not expecting the blow out everyone is predicting. Got the chance to watch NCS play recently, not as strong as in years past, kind of like the rest of 1A. Don't get me wrong, they have several good players, a few who have D1 offers, guessing due to size? Plus they have a great coach. But CA has huge momentum and with almost everyone healthy, they may be tough to beat. And heard that a few of the CA players say they are D1. So with two stacked teams, should be a close game Friday night.
  4. Sorry gtripledip but a lot of schools don't keep stats updated on that site. So your statement about the stats and CA leading is not entirely accurate. And if you really want to talk real, whoever your statistician is knows nothing about how to accurately record stats. There is no way half the CA team is leading in tackles and has three times as many as other teams. What a joke. And although it is cool that the two mentioned players have big stats, and I'm sure they are great kids, lets look at how they got them...against very low competition teams and with a coach running up the score. How bout you come boast to all of us when CA earns big stats against real teams like NCS or UC.
  5. Didn't one of the starters get hurt in the 4th? Maybe I was at the wrong game.
  6. Agree so much...District 10A is very down this season. Has looked like middle school teams suiting up and taking the field. The size, speed, numbers, and talent is just not there. CA in particular has gotten lucky with the low level of competition. And it has given some of their players a great opportunity to pad their stats. But bragging about winning against a team like HC is foolish. Lets talk If and when you beat a team like NCS. What I don't get is that Friday night, just like all season, starters were in until the final few minutes. Many CA parents in the stands were upset that the younger players were still on the sidelines and not getting playing time. Confused because in previous seasons, if CA was up, starters did not even put their pads back on after halftime. And have to say, that HC team of only 15 players, the majority of whom were just freshman have more heart than most teams around. Didn't know much about HC before Friday night but they just earned a fan for their class and determination.
  7. Come on CA, the next two games are powder puff games (just like most of the season) so you should win easily. The game against NCS however will be a battle and more reminiscent of the compeition of previous years. CA and a few other schools have definitely benefited from the level of competition being so low this season. Many teams seem to be in a rebuilding mode and suffering with low roster numbers, especially on this side of the state.
  8. Agree that 1A is very weak this year. And across the board, with a lot of size gone, felt like I've been watching youth football this season. And it is not just one team, it is most of 1A. The powerhouses of the past like South Pitt and Jo Byrns are gone so this top 10 poll really means nothing. It will all come down to play off wins.
  9. NCS @ Cheatham - The machine that is NCS takes this one by 28+. ER @ Richland - ER by 7. WHH @ JB - WHH by 21+. HC @ NW - Predict a close game, but pulling for HC. Harpeth @ CA - CA on a winning streak. Gleason @ McEwen - Gleason as McEwen is almost as bad as Collinwood this season.
  10. Stirringitup, here is the truth... the starters were still in for last score. It was last 3 minutes that starters were finally starting to get pulled. Seriously think the last minute TD was a final punch in the throat so to speak!
  11. CA by 21+ (CA playing no competition team again this week) HC or ER (Both evenly matched so toss up) NCS by 28 (NCS continues to dominate district)
  12. NCS by at least 28 points. Hope it isn't that one sided as I really like JB coaching staff, they are good people. JB just not as good as last season, lost to many strong players. NCS still strongest in district.
  13. Had few friends at CA vs CWood game and they agree that CA left the starters in until about the last 3 minutes of the game. Lots of fans were scratching their heads at this. I guess it was pay back time. Heard that CWood struggled from the beginning and was worst team CA has faced this season. So CA played very well against a very bad team. With that said, I still think CA will beat JB and it don't think it will be a total blowout from NCS.
  14. Wildcatalumni I do think Jo Byrns might be a threat to Clarksville Academy if CA continues to allow personal fouls that costs them big yards. But if CA plays a well disciplined game, I think they have the edge this season. Looking at them, even though both teams lost a lot of their size and a few key players, CA seems to have a few more athletes than Jo Byrns and CA is better conditioned than any other 1A team so they have the ability to wear teams out.
  15. Hope it is a good battle, makes for better football watching! Have to disagree with you cwoodball and your comments about the CA coaches yelling at Cwood players and coaches. Funny that is how you remember it. From what I heard, it was the Cwood players, coaches AND FANS that acted ridiculous, yelling and cursing at CA parents, threatening CA players and coaches and then my favorite, actually getting in trucks and blocking the CA bus from leaving town, making them go 5 miles per hour for about 15 miles. That immaturity and dare I say "trashiness" takes the cake and I'm betting karma will come back to bite CWood in the backside Friday night!
  16. Clarksville Academy will easily handle Collinwood so it will be a long bus ride home for the Trojans. Had the chance to see both teams play and CA by far better conditioned and better coached. Injuries have riddled both teams but CA has several athletes capable of stepping up and getting the job done. CA needs to keep the personal fouls to a minimum because giving up 30 yards a game will hurt especially against NCS the only team standing in the way of the district.
  17. Nashville Christian 49 @ Davidson Academy 13 Eagleville 7 @ Jo Byrns 14 Collinwood 7 @ Clarksville Academy 27 East Robertson 7 @ Harpeth 21
  18. I got lot of respect for HC with a roster so small. How did they do last night and will they be able to do some work with the loss of those two players? And how did NCS and JB do? Did they both dominate?
  19. CA will be fine and will only get better as the season goes on. Thinking MC was just a warm up and CA will keep improving. NCS and JB shouldn't underestimate CA because they may steal the district. Don't think a play off run would go deep but apparently the line is almost all juniors so next season CA will be even more dangerous.
  20. Every team has a shot in this district, and in 1A for that matter. Injuries can ruin a season in a second.
  21. Heard about that scrimmage last night... and agree that Northwest is one of the worst team in 5A. Actually feel sorry for NW because they seem to have several good athletes but coaching is dismal. Was told that CA looked really good. Word of mouth says CA might actually surprise many teams this season because although they lack size and numbers, they are well coached and well conditioned. I have no doubt they will wear down many teams and get several wins, maybe even a district title and deep play off run. Sorry to hear about one of the CA players getting hurt. In 1A most teams can't afford the loss of a player.
