  1. I don't think there will be talk equivalent to the super bowl but more like a little bit of crowing after listening to all the smack coming from the other side of 40 for 6 yrs. Maybe a little karma comeuppance. I do believe this is the weekend for streak breaking; Central tonight and the Vols tomorrow. Leaving for a classic now.Wildcats by 10, Vols by 6 P.s. I believe talk was so quiet this week is because everyone is nervous! Lol
  2. I'm guessing in the above scenario that Wilson Central and Antioch would most likely be exchanged from 6-3 to 6-5. They won't separate the three Wilson Co Schools just like they wouldn't put siegel in 6-5.
  3. Nothing to brag about. Those same freshmen as 8th graders never won a game at West Wilson Middle. I guess they've not gotten better...
  4. Wow, not sure where to start here. First, Central's most important game is this Friday. Wilson Central v Mt. Juliet is sort of UT v Florida. You can have all the talent in the world but still have some mental to overcome. Let's see how the young men respond Friday night. As for Franklin, regardless of outcome, that game doesn't dictate one way or the other for a playoff run. Wilson Central is deep as a whole. I however have not liked the mental mistakes when backups do get into the games. What most don't realize by just checking scores is that Central's defensive starters have only given up 14-21 pts this season. All other points were scored on backups when leads were big. Injuries have also been our achilles. With Meadors and Bowes both out for the second half against siegel we were inept on offense. The one thing I know is if Meadors is out the O has got to step up. By stepping up i mean the receivers have got to catch the ones that hit them in the hands, and catch some that don't. Can they make a deep run, absolutely. Will they, this Friday will determine their resilience. If they handle Mt Juliet, they can hang with anyone. If they don't, then they may still have the mental hurdle to climb when they face teams like Whitehaven, Maryville, and Oakland.
  5. Truth be told, Lebanon is ranked #7 in the county, just behind a team that's controlled them for years. 1. Wilson Central 2. Mt. Juliet 3. Watertown 4. Friendship 5. Mt. Juliet Christian 6. Apathy 7. Lebanon
  6. Easy week for picks! The only way these would be difficult is if there were an actual spread. To make it interesting: Wilson Central +20 Mt. Juliet +9 Franklin +18 McGavok +26
  7. If the Bison are going to steal one, it better be now. I believe Wilson Central is the sleeper team this year in 6A and will continue to improve into November; and they're already solid now. I think it helps WC in this game that they've already seen a similar offense in Beech, predominantly run then pass only when neccessary, and were able to coast defensively with the big lead. With WC getting their kicker back, yes the kicker, this game may not be as close as people are predicting. Last week no one picked WC against Beech. After this week, Wilson Central won't sneak up on anyone... Wilson Central 34 Station Camp 20
  8. By no means was I suggesting Beech wouldn't score. I was only making the point that Central has a decent D.
  9. Tough opening couple games for the boys in blue...
  10. Central has a good ball team. 27 seniors that all contribute, a few key players that were held out against Gallatin will be healthy for this contest. I do not know anything about Beech this year because I haven't seen them play, but I have seen all of WC's scrimmages and between Rossview, Shelbyville, and Gallatin; none have scored on their varsity. Shelbyville, who scored a td, did it against second string. I look for a tougher game than most expect. As a matter of fact, it stinks that this game isn't getting a lot of pub for being a strong opening week game, because I think it will be.
  11. I would guess the Central/Hendersonville scrimmage will not be rescheduled. Central already has two scheduled next week, Tuesday and Friday. It is ashamed too because it would've probably been a good measuring stick for both.
  12. I have let my emotions get the best of me and posted a couple replies that I should've kept to myself. I can't delete them but I wondered if you could since you started the thread. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  13. You're right. I just get so fired up about football that I can't help myself.
  14. In all honesty I do want more insight and info into this team. Strengths and weaknesses? But I will need some convincing that the team I saw compete last year can go 9-1 against the likes of Smith Co (who we never seem to beat), Westmoreland (gotten better of us recently) Trousdale (the proverbial favorite in 2 A), and a Goodpasture team that I thought we should've beaten last year and now we go there. I do realize that it has happened before; I.e.Trousdale 2 Yrs ago was horrible, then won the championship last year, but those teams are few and far between. Typically takes a couple years to rebuild. In all seriousness, if the Tigers go 9-1 against this years schedule then they should be top 10 and a favorite to win it all.
  15. Is the upcoming season so bleak that there's no chatter at all about Gordonsville? How does the team look? Preseason injury free? How have they performed during scrimmages? Give me some news to chew on. We're a week away from a real game and I can't wait any longer. You can only read so much about South Pitt. What's the tiger talk?
