  1. Where are you getting your information hoops24?
  2. Those close to the Wartburg situation don't see things as that cut and dried! I will agree with you Coach Davis will be head coach next year! I'll just leave it at that!
  3. Not interested in wartburg......boys or girls......lots of hype not substance. Last year all I heard was how good their 7th grade class is. Their team was supposed to be the best....4th in morgan county.....not great....hardly worth the effort. They'll be very short in both size and talent. I'm not impressed with them considering we've got the Anderson girl. AII predictions for 06-07 Girls Fairview - Anderson is like a Woman playing against little girls Oneida - Good solid team Coalfield- They still have Jordan (That'll be enough) Oakdale - Good Guards CCCA - 17-1 this season Wartburg - out in 1st round of the AII Tournament (short and slow) Boys Oneida - size and speed Huntsville - shooting and speed Robbins - size and speed (want to run now coach jones) Fairview - returns a solid group Wartburg - lucky to make it to the second round (would you like some hotdog with your mustard I'm not hatin on "the burg" but I just call em like I see em.
  4. Just a question have you people in Huntsville ever won anything before? I mean celebrate your victory but lay off of the attitude. You were better that night. That doesn't make you the better team. Break it down for ya....Oneida beat you by 24 and 9 pts. in the regular season. You beat them by 1 point in the tournament. And I've got a little advice for you. Start getting ready for Caton's Chapel cause youre gonna see some teams up there that'll give both of ya some trouble. Time to refocus and get back to business.
  5. Sure they're all about 6'8 and play full court man to man.
  6. Kaz, I've noticed the clock keeper at the tournament making calls for the officials on the floor. I heard that the coach was getting upset over that and it made him blow his top. Not sure about the exact case. However, I'm serious the clock keeper is acting as the 4th ref at the tourney. PJ should stop that. King out-
  7. I think Oneida beats Wartburg by over 15pts. I don't think the dogs will have an easy time scoring the ball against Oneida. Also, they're not going to be able to play defense as well without Ginger. I feel like Coalfield is beatable also. Oneida could take them down by 2-5 pts.
  8. I feel like something is missing also. Nobody has been fired at Scott High officially. I guess that Eddie just worked his tail off last year so they could hand the program over to Marcum. I wish him and the team alot of luck but having a new coach each year is not the solution. They have a good coach in place. However, I don't know if he can hold on long enough to see the teams work pan out.
  9. I don't think that you can ever turn having that many players quit into a positive. It's hard to think that you will lose that many players and it not cause more problems down the road. The Scott High team looks to me to be 2 years away from being competitive again. They should stick with their coach. However, it's hard for me to see them doing that given the school's record for firing coaches. Good luck Scott High.
  10. Armes will be a fine player. I think that she will give the dogs an inside outside threat immediately. Don't forget Ashley Settles if Armes and her get going you could see a very strong CHS team next year with Ginger McGhee strong under the basket.
  11. Kaz, I didn't mean that all the shots were uncontested lay-ups just about 6 or 8 of them. I don't think the Wartburg JV team lost any games this year beat Oneida 2 times, Fairview 1 time and tied with O.S. So the 7th graders on that team were pretty good. Oneida will have some trouble but I think they will rise to the top 2 in the Dist again. I guess the wildcards will be Fairview, Huntsville, and Coalfield. I respect Oneida but contend that if O.S. had lost to Oneida that they wouldn't have been the best team anymore. Oneida would have been top dog. That is the way of Tourney Basketball!
  12. I think Wartburg returns several good 7th graders. They played against Gatlinburg PBP and looked a little nervous but, pretty athletic. The also played very well against Midway. Not sure about Oneida??? Fairview keeps 2 starters I think........both were pretty solid. Huntsville........lost most of their rotation. It should be a fun off-season for coaches that like to teach the game. Lord knows they'll get a good chance to. It should be fun!
  13. Yeah Kaz, Play the games in front of you. Both Oneida and Wartburg had their shot at O.S. and both lost. This format found the best two teams as Champions Holston and O.S. I think it works. I also don't think that Oneida had a ton to do with Wartburg's 9-40 was alot to do with the Wartburg team missing uncontested lay-ups. No, the dogs weren't there last year. However, I bet they would have been if they had the coaching staff from this year.
