Of course we did. Injury bug killed us last year and 3 games in 9 days wasn't the smartest thing to do for this year, especially with 7 players playing on both sides of the ball that game against a team that can roll 11 different guys on offense, defense, and even special teams if anyone noticed. The years Alcoa has beaten Maryville, they had a team that had depth and didn't have to play a lot of players on both sides. But let's not make excuses. Maryville is a great program because of their coaching, depth, and community. Just imagine Alcoa with depth equal to Maryville's. Now tell me who would win?? We'll eventually see that in the future with the new school and the expansion of Alcoa as a community.
