  1. What teams do have a winning record against you all? South Pitt, and some bigger schools I assume but not many! Maybe Oneida too.
  2. Strange isn't it, I thought the same thing. I would think it would be a pretty good match up most years.
  3. I think, they better be ready for a battle Thursday! Rockwood is 5-1 and they could win the region outright if Greenback upset Oz and then they beat us. In 2010, you would have thought we would have won but they came up to Rochelle and kicked our tails. Rockwood has just as much to play for as Coalfield does (along with a little help from the Cherokees).
  4. It is a sloppy first half, way too many penalties. We got get those cleaned up if we have any intentions of winning!
  5. I hope your right, I just hope these strong winds die down before game time. Good luck to the Indians tonight!
  6. I still think Greenback has a slight edge on both of us, a very tough place to play in my opinion.
  7. Sorry about that, I started the topic early since we both have off weeks.
  8. I don't know, I believe it will be competitive this year, I think!
  9. It was a nasty group, I don't think they were anybody to even contest them.
  10. Yeah, crazy how it worked out that way. And when they got that monkey off their back did they ever! They were dominant for a good, long stretch till here recently. It's been nice not having to go to Cloudland every year in the 2nd round.
  11. That's a yes on Greenback and not so much on Cloudland. No disrespect but we have had a pretty good run against Cloudland. They beat us in the quarterfinals in 21 but I can't remember the last time we lost to them after that one. As far as region 3 and 4, it has been South Pitt beating us mostly. We haven't played Gordy/Clay that much due to South Pitt. To be honest Cf has been down the last 4 or 5 years when we've played Gordonsville during that time. The whole region has been down actually. I believe some of our best teams have actually been when we finished behind Greenback in the region. We both had some pretty good teams during that decade of Greenback dominance. I think that would've been our best shot at beating South Pitt if we could have advanced past the Cherokees. Gordonsville is pretty good but South Pitt is in a league of there own with Greenback on the verge of joining them in their supremacy (at least till some jealous bystanders sabotaged their program)!
  12. I believe they had a gentlemens agreement. Even the first half seemed to have went by fast. Sunbright may just be the worst team in single A.
  13. I agree, it could be a close one. Tell me, what team is it that Holden plays for again?
  14. Hope you are right, Oz has been improving throughout the season with a few hiccups along the way.
  15. Question for somebody who knows? I didn't see #54 playing against Sunbright, is he hurt or just sitting out . He would be a big loss if injured.
  16. This game could be for the region. I believe it should be a good game.
  17. Both are good kids and great talents. I believe both are talented enough to make it. I've watched Parker since he was in little league. He probably the best athlete to ever come through Coalfield. I'm a football guy but he was a treat to watch on the hardwood. But it's good hear Holden's doing good. Greenback had some dang talented kids for last several decades.
  18. Good luck to the Indians, big ballgame. I be keeping up on this one.
  19. I'm going with the upset. Oneida by 3
  20. The momentum really changed with the interception in the 3rd qt when CF had a good drive going. Sequatchie line just won the battle up front. We really struggled on offense all night. Sequatchie is a tough ball club with several tough kids.
  21. Yeah, it's sad how bad all the teams have fallen off in our region. It is what it is. All we can do is do the best with what we got and hope to God the mighty may fall.
