  1. Previously I wasn't able to put my finger on who I imagined he sounded like, but you are so right! It is Roy D. Mercer.
  2. This would be interesting to listen to! I recall reading many of his posts as Peabody was heading towards Cookeville against Marion County last December. It would be interesting to hear if his real voice was anything close to what I imagined it to be. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. LOL
  3. I'm looking forward to this game. It will be a battle no doubt! Are the folks up in Union City currently voting our game as the Tennessee Titans High School Game of the week? I haven't seen it posted on here, so it's worth mentioning. It will definitely take both our towns voting to overtake the Riverdale/Blackman game seeing as how both of those schools have large student bodies. http://www.titansonline.com/fans/high-school-coach-of-the-week.html
  4. This game was definitely a nail biter! Peabody never gave up though, and it paid off. There are definitely some kinks that will need to be worked out, but I have faith that they'll improve more and more each week.
  5. They've been on a decline since the years they had Patrick Willis for the most part. The 90s were their last good years really. . They sure were a force to reckon with in their good years! I'm glad Patrick does so much to give back to the community though. He puts on a football camp for the kids every year. I still remember my alma mater and Bruceton being rivals... I've seen him play many games! Great guy with a great story to tell!
  6. I have to go with the Peabody Golden Tide on this one!
  7. All I can say is I'm proud of our boys, the Golden Tide! They played a hard fought game and made some great plays. Sure we had a few mistakes, but after a mistake we usually answered with a big play or several plays that added up to another TD. We just had to keep moving forward. Kendrick deserved his MVP for offense, and oh how exciting it was to hear Xavier's name for the Defense MVP especially knowing his return in the Aville game helped seal the deal for our Tidemen to make it to the dance. Both guys were deserving of their awards as well as the entire team getting to transport that Gold Ball into a gym full of Peabody fans welcoming them home in shouts of excitement and so much enthusiasm! Us folks in Trenton are proud of our boys..... We'll always remember this year! Big props to Coach Woods and his staff for molding these boys into the fine young men they are today. Simply stated... Our hometown heroes will always be remembered as the team who brought our first Gold Ball home to Peabody High School! With that said MC played hard too. I don't think they ever quit fighting. One of the main aspects I don't think I'll forget about this game is Zeman. Once it was explained how he changed his number to 1 to honor a fellow student that fell victim to cancer, he stood out beyond his abilities to play ball. Like I said before, it showed him as a very noble young man on a personal level. It showed there was more to him than just being a football player. He is truly a class act on and off the field. It just proves the point to know he played injured to ensure he finished his last high school football game with his team.. He has heart and never gave up. Job well done, Zeman! I may not always remember the various players of the game for MC, but I'll always remember that selfless story of Blake Zeman. I hope he goes far in his football career!
  8. Can't say I saw this coming..... CF is doing well, but UC will get it together.
  9. Well Jackson only pays attention to certain west TN areas.... Middle TN pays attention to middle. I guess that's how it works. I just got a call from my sister who doesn't live here in Trenton. They have direct tv I think, and she said it doesn't even show the right names for the 11am game. I talked to her husband who is a big football buff... He said that he had never heard of the names listed. Yet it showed the right names for every other game like Union City and the other games on Saturday. So who knows.... Needless to say I'll be in Cookeville well before 11am ready to cheer on the Golden Tide! Roll Tide Roll!!!
  10. Haha! It's not on our networks because it's not a game with West TN folks involved. We're not that dumb! Nice try though.
  11. http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/associations/tssaa# You have to get a subscription to watch it online. I plan on doing a one day sub which is $9.95. I believe I saw it will be aired live on Channel 6 out of Jackson. We only use Netflix/Hulu, so that's not an option for me. I'll gladly pay the $9.95 though!
  12. I plan on watching the UC game online tomorrow and head up early Saturday morning! We picked up our tshirts, a few noise makers, and got the vehicle painted up tonight! We're looking forward to the game.
  13. No doubt it was heartbreaking to watch!!! The night of the game the emotions ran high and low... I said that night that if Peabody made it to the dance, I'd need a nerve pill! Lol! I'm not origalnally from Trenton. My alma mater is Camden. I remember Adamsville In their down years, so I respect the position that Adamsville made it this year as well as the previous year's they got as far as they did'! I understood both sides of the game. You guys have grown 10 fold. It's nothing to scoff at! I've wtinessed many heart breaking games.... I mean it's on my bucket list to see Camden beat Milan!!! With that being said and considering all the Camden games I've seen through the years, last Fridays's game was the best high school football game I've ever seen! I'm really looking forward to seeing Peabody take on the MC warriors!
  14. It says showers likely. The Weather Channel says 80% chance of showers. The National Weather Service shows 60%. I hope it holds off until later afternoon! I'll pack a big umbrella and some plastic ponchos nonetheless.
  15. I've probably watched that video 50 times, and I'm still amazed at that run! I don't think anyone on Peabody's side was sitting down when that run happened. I'm glad I witnessed it!
  16. That's the mindset I have as well when it comes to cheer on the Tide! I can't help but wish time would fly by, but at the same time I know it's time that our Tidemen have to prepare! It's going to be a Good one!
  17. My family won't be up in time to watch, but I guarantee I'll have some headphones in my ear listening while I'm at a Christmas party for work! Can't wait to hear those golden tornadoes roll into a 2nd state championship for 2 years in row in addition to their previous gold balls!
  18. I have no doubt that Coach Woods will have studied every bit of film on MC as possible before the game. He will be prepared! Count on that. He has too much experience not to. We'll see on Saturday.
  19. Let's just pray the rain stays away! I don't care what turf they have..... Rain would be a hindrance on anything other than a covered stadium. Rain rain go away.....
  20. Sounds like a very noble young man! Thank you for the back story. It's nice to hear about a player on a personal note instead of just an athlete. No doubt this game will be played with heart by both teams. I'm really looking forward to it.
  21. Congratulations to Coalfield's Zach Stewart on winning the Mr. football award. With that being said, I'm still pulling for Union City!
  22. Fair enough! That's the hard part for this game. Far East vs Far West.... It's hard to truly compare. Besides the video, we go by hearsay. And I say that in that I mean the fans... i know our coaches will exchange footage. This will no doubt be a great game!!!!
  23. Well, you might not have directly said that MC wins... But every chance you get, you note all of MC's reasons to win. For the most part though, you are clearly supporting MC and their ability to win. It's no doubt you expect them to just by reading your posts. No harm in that.... I just think it's clear on who you expect to win which is MC. I've yet to see you give much chance at all for Peabody. Was I wrong in summarizing your posts? My bad if I was. But it's easy to assume where you see this game going. My apologies if I've gone off kilter.... However i still believe it's clear to see your expectations for who grabs that gold ball. I
