Sullivan North is good, and I see them getting 4th in the conference and advancing to the playoffs, but I don't think they can match up to the likes of Elizabethton and Tenn. High. Those two teams will take this conference with one loss between them.

They finally hired a principal. It is a lady from North Carolina. I don't know all the facts about her but I guess they will start interviewing for coaches now.

You're right about their schedule, and I don't think they will make it to Maryville again, I think Elizabethton or Morristown West will play Maryville.

I don't think anyone will challenge Alcoa until the state game, but they will still win.

Tenn. High has a better chance of having the same record they had than East having the same record they had.

I agree reaction. One of those teams will be the state champion. Sometimes the semi-finals game is better than the state game.

I don't even think Tennessee High will win their conference. Elizabethton will take that crown. But my pick for the state title will have to go to the powerhouse Maryville.

North is always a very physical team. East won't be as good without Eads. Nobody will be able to step in for him. Central might have only lost 2 starters, but they weren't that good last year, so what makes them any better this year? I still say South and North will be behind Tenn. High and Elizabethton for the playoff spots.

Is that camp in Wake Forest? I believe Elizabethton is also going to that camp. Maybe they might play each other before Aug. 19. I hope not though, that wouldn't be a good idea.

This guy rans track in college now but he had some of the fastest feet when he played. Lester Bailey from Elizabethton played like Barry Sanders. He would start one way, cut the opposite way and end up cutting back to the way he started. He had some truly amazing runs. He led the conference in rushing his senior year, that was after he switched from WR to RB after the starter broke his foot.

Tenn. High has one of the most unique stadiums. I bet there aren't too many 'stone castles' in the U.S.

Basketball practice is going to start on July 11. If they don't have a coach for those boys, the upcoming season is going to be really hard. The basketball players that play football will be so far behind, especially the ones the should be starting for the team (Charles Peters, J.C. Atkinson & Austin Taylor.) Two of those boys are really smart but it is hard for anyone to come in and learn a new system in a week or two. And that is exactly what will happen if they aren't able to learn over the summer.

Since when does DB go into a season without respect? Someone would have to be stupid to not give that school respect. They will probably never have a real down year. With so many kids in that school, they can always reload. A down year to DB is a good year to most teams. They will always have a target on their backs, just like Elizabethton does, even of the teams aren't as good as they always are. Some teams just go into the season with that target because of the respect they have earned over the years.

I really thought Andruw Jones deserved to start. I know he has just been hot lately but he has carried his team.

I don't think he should be allowed to play in the all-star game. 20 games is kind of harsh when compared to the suspension of the player who threw the chair. That really didn't make since to me.
