  1. I've been wondering the same thing. Have you had a chance to see Northview? I know they popped into the polls early on and have a good record but not much of a schedule. Assuming they are about the same as their team last year, I think there's a chance in two from district one moving to substate. Region two is usually tough, but may be down a little this year from last. I always expect to see Meigs in the mix somewhere.
  2. So much for that barn burner. Lol. Unaka wins 55-28. North Greene is finished for the year and Unaka will play South Greene tomorrow night.
  3. Won't know that until after district tournament. If Northview finishes 1st and Cloudland 4th in district, then yes.
  4. It's been pretty quiet on here this season regarding this district. Is anyone interested? Tonight at Daniel Boone: North Greene vs Unaka 4:00 Cloudland vs University 7:00 NG vs Unaka could be barn burner. The winner will move on to face South Greene in the semi's Saturday at 4:00. Cloudland should be the easy pick but does University have a surprise up their sleeve like last year against Hampton? The winner of that game will face Hampton Saturday at 7:00.
  5. I agree with this and will go on to add that I believe Bradley Central will be runner-up if they are on opposite sides of the bracket. I have seen Bradley Central, Mo. West, and Oak Ridge multiple times this year and think Bradley Central is in a different league as the other two with Riverdale being I'm league by themselves. I wouldn't be completely surprised if Mo. West or Oak Ridge were upset prior to state.
  6. I do agree with you to a point on this. There are many kids in our area who choose to go to different schools for one reason or another and as long as recruiting is not a part of it, then I respect that. But it's really nice to cheer for a group of kids that you watched grow up together. There is pride in that. Nothing wrong with either.
  7. South Greene. Every player on their team is from one of their feeder schools. There are 3 K-8 feeder schools (no middle school) and one that can go either South or west Greene depending on which end of the community you live.
  8. I haven't seen Northview Academy yet this year, though I will in the regional tournament, but last year they came in to it with close to the same record and we're not impressive at all. They had just played a very weak schedule. With that said, they may be an entirely different team this year. But I would think a team from district 3 could beat them in substate if they make it through region. I'm a little curious myself to actually watch Northview based on their earlier rankings in the polls, they are still a bit of a mystery to me.
  9. It is also hard for me to not think that Braelyn Wykle is not also deserving of Miss Basketball. As a sophomore she has already surpassed the 1000 point mark. She's a phenomenal point guard. But I'm guessing two from one team would be impossible.
  10. Stats don't mean everything. They matter but do not tell the whole story. You have to consider how good the other players on their team are. Taylor Lamb for instance may not average many points per game but her shot percentage is high. She is on a team full of shooters. And since they blow most teams away, the starters are sitting for a lot of the game. So no. Stats are not everything.
  11. They have South Greene from region 1 and Meigs from region 2.
  12. GreenEville, South GreenE, North GreenE, and West GreenE. Just so it's clear. Lol
  13. And I will agree with that 100%. The AP and coacht polls are pretty close, for the most part, this time around. But neither one matters when these teams begin to face each other.
  14. Because the coacht poll is based off of a scientific formula instead of bias. I agree that the AP polls the past two weeks have been a bit of a joke.
  15. Will there be a radio broadcast for tonight's Cloudland/South Greene game?
  16. I won't be able to make it to the game tonight and was wondering if Grainger has radio coverage? Also, if they do, is it also on tunein radio?
  17. I won't be able to make it to the game tonight and was wondering if Grainger has radio coverage? Also, if they do, is it also on tunein radio?
  18. Well darn. You missed the barn burners, but I'm glad you were able to make it.
  19. I don't think he is, GCPioneer. I don't even think he is a Bradley fan. He just seems to enjoy poking at others on every thread. Btw, did you stay in Greeneville for the entire tourney?
  20. I actually told a couple of the Bearettes last night, that I wasn't the least bit sorry that we didn't have to play them and that it had been an honor watching them this tournament. They seem to be a great group of ladies on and off the court.
  21. And Morristown West continues to be the thorn in South Greene's side. Oh well, onward we go. Huge congrats to Bradley Central. They were by far the best team there.
  22. Well I'm 15 of 16 over these last two days. I have to say, I was proud of SG for playing with OR for 3 quarters. Great job to the Lady Wildcats. I'm looking forward to the rematch between South Greene and Morristown tomorrow. I predict a win by the lady Rebels and I'm much more confident than I was in tonight's game. I also predict Bradley Central to be tournament champs.
  23. That's not unusual at the Ladies Classic. Several teams have done that for years.
