From what I heard: If DB would have beaten Oakland AND won state this year then they would be 1 game behind DB. Also, the Defensive Line coach is leaving to focus on teaching and the Secondary coach is leaving so he can spend time with his family. LB's and DC still on staff from what I heard last.

Hello, I am currently 23 years old and have received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport and Leisure Management from East Tennessee State in Johnson City in December of 2015. Although I do not have a degree in Education, I plan to pursue that degree by attending Grad School. So I know being employed in a school system is not out of the question but there would be some limitations. I am looking to continue my coaching career at the High School Level. I am willing to coach Wide Receivers or the Defensive Backs. I decided to take this whole year off due to me constantly working so much and have little access to internet as well as the fact I got a new computer and completely forgot my password Anyways, I went to the DB-Jeff Co. game and I was walking from the parking lot to J Fred and heard that Jeff Co. had scored early in the game. Before I got in the gate I assumed DB was down 7-0. Later in the game, Barrett took the kickoff back for a TD that got called back for holding or block in the back. I was excited for him to return one but bummed it got called back. As I am on my way home I hear that he actually took the opening kickoff back for 6. Anyways, DB is losing some keys players. Including Barrett....Without taking the schedule into consideration, how does the Tribe look in '17?

I was at the MoEast scrimmage last Summer when the RB had his situation but haven't been able to watch Spring ball. All I heard was #58 (MM) was saying he's now a Topper.

I can understand he and his wife wanting to step down for a while but I am confused as to why it was a mutual agreement. In my opinion, he had the best group on defense.

I am excited to see #35 play again. He has come a long way. The secondary should be interesting having all but one returner (#16 started a handful of games). But what happened with Holt?

I see where you are coming from when you're talking about playing "bigger schools" and playing the likes of Crockett, Boone, Central, and Volunteer. Easily finish 9-1 when playing them. Afterwards, the normal 1st or 2nd round exit. Why? The starters play a half. 3 quarters at most. Why? They're up big. They are not used to playing 4 full quarters against tough teams. These "bigger schools" play bigger games and games that require them to play 48 minutes. Not 24 or 36 but 48. I see 2 sides. And yes, TERRIBLE secondary.

WaCo I agree with you. I just didn't go into full detail. Honestly, IMO, the problem with the Defense is the secondary. yea, it is an 11 man group but some players (One in particular) could NOT get the job done. I still am trying to ponder as to why in the world he continued to start. I know injuries with 5 had a big part in that but some players kept getting beat by the same play or same route. What route?? Either a GO! Or a Flag/Post. He would jump the guy's route where he was and would not get over on top of him. Within the play, he saw the WR's eyes, then he saw the WR's butt.

I was anticipating a 7-3 or 8-2 record. Losing to the Big M obviously and a tossup with The Hill over in Johnson City. I was really surprised a 4-7 record hit the books in Kingsport. How often does that happen? Yes, I know playing bigger schools had part in that and yes 5-6 plays turned a 4-7 team into the 8-2 team DB should have had. Simple mistakes. I'm hoping to see DB win at least 3 more.

Well that would just suck, now wouldn't it? I've never liked the Toppers but I do respect some players from there from my days.
