That was back when Chelsey Perry was there... she went onto UT-Martin and played in the WNBA and recently tore her ACL. She is working her way back from that. Middleton went undefeated that year, and was undefeated the following year until Gibson County knocked them off in the semifinals of the state tournament. I would've enjoyed seeing that state championship Middleton team versus the Greenfield team with Tess and Chloe. That Middleton team was long and athletic.

Trezevant added a transfer guard at Christmas that didn’t play against USJ in Dynamix Hoopfest… she was actually at Trezevant last season, transferred to Melrose at start of this season, transferred back to Trezevant around Christmas. She is top sophomore in the city. Regardless, Gibson will be fine and likely win big.

Yep… she won’t play against Bolton, but can almost guarantee you she’s in for the region semifinals.

The Bucky 2-3 is capable of keeping a good team under 30 points… that’s only 10 3 pointers for Westview. They’ll be right in the mix.

White County is good and can certainly win it. Dyersburg is the most talented team with 3 Division 1 prospects (Crawford, Jordan, Strayhorn) another really good college level prospect in Maclin. Coach Strayhorn had them playing high level basketball in the district championship against Crockett County.

Tough season for SGC this year, but a lot to look forward to in the years to come. Embrey does a good job of running that program from the younger players up to her high school team.

Some great games last week in Franklin... MTCS beat East Nashville by 30 to open the event but fell to Beech in a tight one on Saturday East Nashville played a brutal 3 game stretch losing to MTCS and Montverde Academy before beating Blackman on Saturday Cleveland had two tough games beating Beech on Friday and losing a close one on Saturday to York. York loses to Blackman on Friday but picked up a nice win over Cleveland on Saturday Jaloni Cambridge got to play in her city in front of a packed crowd and put on a show both nights... nearly had a triple-double in the win against Clarksville Christian Don't let Clarksville Christian's loss to Montverde fool you. Lauren Hassell is the real deal and Clarksville Christian is a really good team.

A great event last week in Franklin... Trinity Christian Academy comes away with 3 great wins over Central Magnet, Rockvale, and Clarksville Academy Clarksville Academy, along with TCA, is going to be a tough team to beat at tournament time... CA picked up two solid wins over Oakland and Central Magnet Central Magnet pulls off the biggest win of the tournament in beating Knox Fulton... I expect Fulton to not lose another game the rest of the season... despite they loss, they're the absolute real deal. York picked up two impressive wins over Loretto and a buzzer beater over St. Benedict. Siegel looked as one of the top teams in the event beating a good Page team on Friday and handling Loretto on Saturday.

You met him one time and now you think you know the guy… that sounds about right. McKenzie’s coach is a good coach and a good person. I’m glad for Savannah on a great accomplishment… the majority of players can’t shoot 17-20 from 3 in a gym with nobody guarding them. She puts in the work and it paid off for her. Congrats.

It is safe to say that West Tennessee is loaded with top tier talent for the next several years. The middle school and high school fall league was loaded with great talent. Thank you to everyone that participated and came to this year's fall league. We have registration open for a boys fall league if anyone knows of some players that might be interested. The registration will close on October 2nd with games starting on October 5th.

The boys league is being played at Gibson County each Thursday during the month of October.

Appreciate the shoutout on the fall league. A lot of the top talent in the area is in this year's league and definitely worth watching. I am grateful to have had the local high school coaches supporting this league over the years.

We have 10 defending state champs and 3 defending state runner-ups in this year's field with roughly 40 D1 prospects.

Great game between two great teams. That game lived up to the hype. It’s unfortunate this was the first round game for both teams. I don’t see Westview having much problems with Community tomorrow.

If you’ve got a horse good enough to win the derby then you let them run… every time Jada gets to the rim, the whole defense collapses. I’d be running horns the whole second half for as long as York is in man… let her play out of that.
