  1. Yes he was. Great guy too. Regardless of what people think of the record he was an outstanding role model for high school kids. People overlook that when talking about coaches too often.
  2. That's kind of what I thought. The rules are different for them apparently.
  3. I don't even know where to start with the lack of proper grammar and the fact that you think it's OK what happened. Get over it? Actions have repercussions whether you like it or not. Football trumps all in Sequatchia though I guess.
  4. So you think what those Grundy students did is no big deal? Just asking for clarification.
  5. I get that but it's certainly not optimal. The players played hard but a few capable subs can make a difference. Smith County didn't have that this season.
  6. I agree with you. There's a big difference between humor and ignorance. Anytime that bunch is called out on something they hide behind humor. It won't be funny Friday night on their side though.
  7. I partially agree with the first point. I would say that when you have only 13 or 14 kids playing and many of them playing every single snap you can be the best conditioned player and still be extremely fatigued by the fourth quarter. That was definitely an issue this season.
  8. That's what I have heard. Upperman didn't win because they were the better team. It was that doggone rain that made only Sequatchia players slip. In reality, the rain was a huge advantage for a team like Sequatchia. Upperman is faster and has much better skill players. Try telling the Squatch fans that though.
  9. That's one of the best and funniest comments I have read on CoachT. They won't be disrespecting Red Bank after Friday night. On second thought they probably will because if it rains at all that will be the reason(excuse) that Sequatchia loses. Just ask the Upperman fans. They only won because it rained that night according to some.
  10. I can't speak for the past but this season the depth was very thin. Only about 28 kids total at the end of the season. All but about 3 kids played both ways.
  11. Either of those guys would be an excellent choice. I'm afraid they're both in better positions at their current jobs though.
  12. I can't speak for anyone else but none of this makes me mad. I do enjoy calling out things I perceive as incorrect. That's the great part of free speech.
  13. You can't be serious about that score. Sequatchia is going to hold Red Bank to 3? Maybe 43 if you're lucky.
  14. Not my experience at all with Upperman. To each their own I guess.
  15. He does that with everyone. The funny part is UHS was one of the most gracious winners SCHS played all year. His team not so much. High school football is about winning but also about learning that you have to handle winning and losing with dignity.
  16. Sucks to be classless winners too. It's not all about the score.
  17. Yours ends this week. I will be pulling for Red Bank. Class team.
  18. He will be finished after Friday night. Red Bank is simply better all around.
  19. This would be the best result. Hopefully the owls get a good coach and can get the numbers back up. They just had no depth this season. Lots of good skill players back next season too.
  20. So only Sequatchia slipped on the wet field. Ok. Glad we cleared that up. On the sportsmanship front, that is two different teams that had issues in the post game handshake with your team. Probably just a coincidence right?
  21. The rain would actually be much more detrimental to Upperman due to their speed advantage. As far as sportsmanship goes you can look through my posts to see that this isn't the first time for that situation with that team. Good luck to Upperman. They killed the team I root for but I was really impressed with them both during and after the game. I hope they can advance in the playoffs and get a shot at Alcoa.
  22. I just asked a simple question. No answer?
  23. I wasn't at the game. Did the Upperman players play on a wet field? If so I wonder if it affected their footing as well. It sounds like from your posts that your team is the only one that had to deal with the elements. Come on.
  24. Is the basketball team still consistently very good? I know they used to be. I just didn't know about the last 7 to 10 years. It seems interest in football in some of the smaller schools may be down across the board.
  25. How does that make me a sore loser? Upperman and York look to be much better teams. You're really reaching now. I will not be replying anymore. It's hard to have a conversation with someone like you. So I won't.
