Listen I agree that Alcoa is going to win it all again this year, but lets not forget and act like Covington did not have the ball with a chance to tie the game with about 10 minutes left in last years championship. Alcoa is the better team without a doubt, and is a heavy favorite, but they 100% did not steam roll Covington last year. Covington may or may not make it back to the title game this year, but either way I don't think Alcoa is going to beat them much worse than last year if they do.

PC should have definitely beat covington last year. Will be interesting to see what happens this year. I believe Covington is better this year than they were last year. Not sure you can say the same about PC. Will be fun to watch if it happens.

Have been watching Covington from afar while seeing SG play a few times. I really think Covington is going to take care of SG rather easily. I am not sure Covington will play a tough, meaningful game until 3rd or 4th round of the playoffs.

I would agree. Covington probably has the best chance to be there with Alcoa again, but the result will be the same.

Who seems to be the favorite in AA ball this year?

Interested to see who some of the top teams in AA ball are. What are the thoughts?

Congrats to Alcoa on the win and congrats to both teams on the great seasons. I thought Covington stuck around for alot longer than most assumed they would, including me. I think these teams were pretty evenly matched.

This is a much better game at this point than I thought it would be. Covington looks to have the athletes to compete with Alcoa, which is very surprising to me.

Definitely wasn't the best time for the first turnover of the postseason, but I am still not sure that Alcoa got in on that next TD....

I hope Covington does not make it to the semi's next year, as they will have to put out my team to do so, but if these teams do see each other next year, Covington should co-op with munford and grab their band for a game. I think that would show PC how its done. Probably wouldn't be able to hear the PC band over munford's.

I said it last week and it came back to bite me, but I will say it again, Covington has had a great season but it will end with yet another state runner up. Alcoa is the real deal. Covington is a very good team, but I just don't see how they can beat Alcoa. If I am being honest, I really don't see how they will keep it within 3 TDs. This Covington team has ALOT of heart and determination. They will need every ounce of it Thursday to keep this close. An earlier poster mentioned the conditioning program at Covington. I agree, it has to be one of the best in west Tennessee at least. I have seen them play much larger teams and much smaller teams and they always look like they could play another whole game once the games ends. I think the one thing Covington will have going for them is the fact that this will be a short week. Alcoa may have trouble repping against Covington's offense with such a short turnaround. But then again, that goes both ways. Good luck to both teams next week. I hope its as good a game as last nights PC-Covington matchup.

Dont know if PC was looking ahead at the half, but man it looked like 2 different teams after halftime. Congrats to Covington. What a win. Just imagine if Covington could cherry pick more players

WOW what a game, Covington kicks a game winning 35 yard FG as time expires. Covington came out in the 2nd half and just dominated.

Thats all fine and well, but if Covington could get 7-12 players from Brighton, who is a 5A school about 5 miles away from Covington High School, who is also playing tonight, I think they would be ALOT better than they are now. And they are pretty good now. You give Covington 3 or 4 of the linemen that Brighton has and it would be tough for a 3A team to beat them. And this is coming from a guy who lives in Gibson Co, who would love for covington to be mediocre every year.

Id imagine if covington was pulling kids from 2 schools with around 1500 total students then they might have some bigger kids.

Covington just does not have the horses. Cant get stops on defense, cant move the ball on offense.

I think PC is going to win, but man will it be funny is Covington wins this....
