  1. Heard maybe a senior WR transferring to private school… Talk is the veer is not a good fit for the athletes they have currently… Running game should be good if you RBs stay but who knows
  2. Did the starting QB from last season get let go from the team?
  3. Slot/RB. Probably be a right half back in the Cummings offense
  4. Serious question, not an attempt to throw shade at anyone or stir anything up but I heard a pretty good athlete that played two years at Central is now working out and intending to play with OR this season. Did he move to OR or was he always from OR to begin with and now wants to come home due to the coaching change?
  5. In region 2-AAA, Northview and seymour are in the district not hosting the region this year, but are the only two remaining in the tournament for girls. Seymour wants to host the championship because they are the one seed and northview is two, but northview insists the game stay at the neutral site of the other district that hosted the semis. Now Halls is hosting and are not playing. This makes absolutely no sense and the game should go to the other district's top seed, Seymour.
  6. I think the issue is people subconsciously think that if they downgrade and slander something, eventually it will become the negative aspects people say. I also think that since Clinton is having some slight success in sports this year, the old guard wants the sports programs to “stay in their place” at the bottom. The reality for those critiquers is if the team at the bottom starts coming up, someone else is going to the bottom!
  7. What if your boss really knew how much time you spend doing this, when you should be teaching CTE instead... Or maybe you are still doing that metric lesson when folks walk in to observe...
  8. Maybe this can serve as a lesson in the future within the sport. I thought this was a sport that taught sportsmanship and what is right should always be done even if its not the most popular opinion. Shouldn't be a sport where coaches can determine the outcome of matches and seeding through text. simple
  9. I just think that kids should be given chances when they earn them and not to have opportunities taken away based off of technicalities and adult decisions. Shannon and Halls knew very well they could of agreed to the true second well in advance before last night, they had a ton of opportunity. I am sure Clinton would of won or lost last night with a smile. If anyone from Halls says that Clinton left early before their match, just ask anyone from Gibbs. Tim is very knowledgable about the whole situation as the Clinton coach wrestled for him in high school.
  10. Districts do not determine the region in our region obviously. Our district and region follow whatever Halls wants to do. Keep following sheep
  11. I know the reception isn't great out in Harriman, but have you seen the Halls and Gibbs teams currently? I think all can admit that they are down this year and not the teams of the past few years
  12. Districts have until the 28th of this month to be completed. Some districts like to schedule early to try and gain an advantage by having more time off in between teams and individual tournaments. TSSAA posts the competition dates online
  13. They both lost to Gibbs last night and the difference in losing scores were 4 points. Gibbs beat Clinton by 19 and they beat halls by 15. Oh and CHS took two forfeit. Nevermind that Halls and Clinton have not and will not face each other as a team this season. I think real wrestling people know that it was close enough to find out the right way.
  14. Sure. You are right. when things in today's world are inequitable, the best thing to do is to accept it and move on right? Its not okay to be upset because "little Johnny" is denied the chance to compete against a team that they should be allowed to in a situation where they should be in. Forgive me for saying anything about Halls. I'd recommend you to speak to coach Sayne and see how much of this is true or not true
  15. Their region runner up title this year is going to need an *
  16. Hard to say either way since he wouldn't wrestle the Clinton coach
  17. So because the have won alot, other teams and kids should just suck it up when something unfair happens?
  18. Also, I am sure you are aware of district rules that all coaches have to agree to the change of venue or on anything for that matter so just because Halls said that this is what is going to happen, doesn't mean it is supposed too if the other district coaches don't agree. The Halls coach does not make the decisions by himself for the entire district so that fact that the Clinton coach didn't agree doesn't make it a forfeit, it makes it where no district truly took place.
  19. Clinton took the high road last night because I assume they know how special region duals can be for any wrestler and did not want a conflict between two teams to tarnish that for all involved. Trust me when I say this that there is a large group of wrestling coaches in this area right now that have lost a ton of respect for coach Sayne and as for the folks I know, they will no longer be taking their kids to Halls in the summer to be involved with coach Sayne in any way.
  20. I can assure you that Halls did not agree to a true second match. In this sport, kids don't eat all day to maintain weight, you know that, and being at home adds to the difficulties of that. The Clinton coach made a choice to tell it was canceled when Fulton dropped the match. Kids started eating, drinking, relaxing and then the halls coach "was proactive" in finding this match. If he cared about kids and cared about the sport, he would of honored the true second regardless because it was the right thing to do but instead he was scared of the narrative that little ol Clinton had a chance to kick Halls out of region duals. I have heard from a reliable source that the AD at Clinton was on the phone with the AD and head principal at Halls until 4:30 yesterday begging for the true second match to take place but they would not and did not agree. Because of that, the AD at Gibbs said that whatever is going to happen after the championship match last night(i.e. the true second) it needed to be agreed upon before arriving to Gibbs. Since there was no agreement, Clinton knew going in to the duals the true second wasn't an option and left after their match.
  21. Also, I’d say we owe it to kids to not just assume a team would win but rather actually winning. If this was football or basketball we wouldn’t even be having this conversation
  22. Also, word on the street is that Clinton didn’t want to cause a scene and ruin a big night for a lot of high school kids by putting a stain on the evening so they made a grown up decision to not cause an altercation
