He is not close to being the best lineman in 1A. He has no discipline either. This will hurt GB some time durring this game. There are linemen on WC, NCS and others who I would rather build around. He has a 15 yarder coming.

Congratulations to Wayne County! Your players are not only talented, but also full of heart and come to battle. They are also very well coached. Preston Rice is everything people say about him and more. He is extremely talented, but his biggest attribute might be his competitiveness. When he threw a pic he didnt hang his head and say Oh no! Interesting story, After the game when everyone was down on the field, I walked over to congratulate WC players. I saw a WC fan walking across the field. We moved the ball well on the ground and especially on the left side. Sometimes the play calling just doesnt make sense. One drive we marched down field on the ground to get in the red zone, and then for some reason felt we had to abandon the run. Very puzzling. We also have to find a way to keep our composure. When a player gets his feelings hurt because of what someone else does or says and gets backed up 15 yds, he's not caring about his team much. He did the same thing last week late in the game. We were in great shape at that time, but that selfish penalty, which backed us up to the 20 resulting in no points was a backbreaker. How control has not been taken over a situation like that is very frustrating to me.

Playerscoach, I don't mean any disrespect to you. We have had a couple of heated exchanges, so what. This is a place where that stuff sometimes happens. I see promise in my team, and I speak of it. DCA has a rich heritage in not only football, but also basketball and other sports. I do have much respect for that. I also have respect for anyone who raises their children and teaches them athletics, as it is the building block of not only a great person, but also great communities and a great nation. We are all familiar with each other, and know the talent level and commitment to excellence of each program. There is no disrespect for any program like that. Some folks will be heartbroken after tonight. Some players and parents of seniors will be weeping on the field after tonight. These games are only games to non-football people, but they are a way of life for us. To all my fellow football dads and moms, I salute you! You are raising the best this country will have to offer in the years ahead.

Idk guys, I'm losing all my feelings about whether or not it's coming. I got the idea that this one might be a little closer. If you say its coming, it should stand to reason that a mercy rule is coming with it. If you dont bring everything and the kitchen sink when you come, you might be going right back where you came from before it all gets there.

There is a poster on this thread who likes to sit on his teams reputation from the past when someone tries to have a conversation about the present. If you don't immediately bow down and kiss his team's behind (who is out of the playoffs by way of a beatdown), He gets offended. He tries to steer away from football (not so much this thread but others in the past) and speak of girls track, under water basket weaving, bowling, soccer, archery and curling to boast of his schools overwhelming overall domination of athletics in D2. Coach Brothers has routinely scheduled games to play up when possible. We always scrimmage against teams like Pearl-Cohn, CPA, FRA, BGA and schedule PJP2 in regular season as well as East. Two years ago East was ranked 3rd in the state in 3A when we shut them out on their field and held them to seven total yards. Beat them on our field the year before. We lost by 3 to PJP2 this year. Im sure there wasnt another 1A school who played a school in that class this year. I would love to see us play Webb, Ensworth, Father Ryan, etc. I dont predict a win, but like you said, we like seeing where we would stack up. This is a rebuilding year for us. We still have a shot, but next year should be a big year.

You Dresden folks have someone who likes to hear himself talk is my guess.

It's the end of an era in many ways. We will all be in different classes and the end of the Rice era at WC as well. Every one of these games has the potential of being the last game for a lot of players. My heart goes out to all of them and also the moms and dads who are possibly watching their boys strap it up for the last time.
