It is a recruiting war every year for the top 8th graders in the city!! Just look at how many players end up at a high school that is a good distance from their middle school. Just look at Arlington's talented freshman this year. They just show up in the Arlington school district. Lol. Two came from Lowrance just down the road from Southwind and one came from Ridgeway middle. They all end up in Arlington.

William Blount beat Alcoa and only lost to Fulton by seven last year. Not sure about them getting their brains beat out every time by a smaller school like Humbolt. Numbers do matter especially with depth.

So most schools in Memphis don't play by the rules? This has everything to do with cheating and playing by the rules. I believe Penny had prior knowledge of being the next Memphis coach while Tubby Smith was still there. He knew if he could get Wiseman to East then he would eventually follow him to Memphis.

It was this didn't care mindset that created this whole situation not the NCAA. Remember Penny said he didn't read the rule book he knew basketball.

Where there is smoke there is fire. Penny didn't think paying for moving expenses for a 200 mile move for a nationally ranked player was a violation? Did he also pay for housing in the East zone for Wiseman's family?

High school basketball is not playground basketball. You can't just find the best players from wherever you want and dominate the court. I think players were recruited even way back when he was coaching in middle school at Lester.

But they won these games by getting Wiseman to come to East by financially supporting a 200 mile move. I wonder how many other players transferred to East and $$$ was involved.

So the Giles County kid moved within feet of Columbia Academy's campus and is paying full tuition? Really?

Columbia Academy is a solid and experienced team. The addition of the six foot six kid from Giles county makes them that much better. Why he didn't have to sit out this year is puzzling to say the least? Should be a good game against Manassas.

This is not a very strong year in Maury County period with the exception of CA. The issue is the athletes like the 6 foot 6 kid from Giles County that seem to show up every year at CA.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. O 'Connor has been recruiting and bypassing rules for years. Where do you think Marshall County's Osteen learned to recruit? Several players just happened to come up from Alabama to go to Giles County. Lol.

It is called recruiting. Giles County's O'Connor and Marshall County's Osteen both know the importance of having a strong quarterback. Both teams want to score alot of points and it starts with a good quarterback.

The rule is clear on transfers and recruiting. The problem is t$$aa is a joke when it comes to enforcing their own rules.

Bachus did not arrive at Giles County until his junior year. He was recruited by Giles County when they hired their former coach back O'Connor. He would have never arrived at Giles County in my opinion if Wallace was there. O'Connor coached his brother Bo Wallace who was just named offensive coordinator at Giles County.

Shame on t$$aa for letting this mess happen in the first place. Marshall County recruited this kid when he was an 8th grader in Giles County. They were put on probation not for the recruiting but for providing transportation to the kid for summer practice. So now his senior year Giles County recruits him back where he should of been the whole time.

Let's see how many transfers CA gets next year, since it's their last year in division 1.

I think Columbia Academy would beat Brentwood Academy this year in boys basketball. That's because they work harder. Also, they really know how to fundraise for their programs.

Well said!! Consultant is still in this fantasy world where he feels district teams are all equal. Columbia Academy just outworks everyone year in and year out. The other district teams just aren't willing to put in the time and effort. Put Goodpasture, Cpa, FRA, and Father Ryan in their district and watch CA whine. This all comes down to winning!! Let's get real!
