  1. I expect Pope to be down as the HC left last year for FRA - only 4 seniors on the squad so very young. I think this is the year we loan the Bishop's Cup back to Father Ryan.
  2. On another thread, I read Ensworth 20-14. Not sure if that was the final or just the starters.
  3. JRB

    Science Hill

So SH vs Farragut or Hardin Valley for the region?
  4. Barnette got his in 2018 when the Iggles beat the Pats. And Ramsey's came last year with the Rams. Golden Tate has 1 w/the Seahawks (JP2).
  5. Kreager reported in the Tennessean today. https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/01/24/kevin-mawae-hired-lipscomb-academy-nashville-tennessee-titans-pro-football-hall-of-fame-trent-dilfer/69810789007/
  6. And I'd say if he sticks around he will grow to enjoy and appreciate Boog's knowledgeable posts and takes on TN HS football.
  7. In Nashville, Father Ryan is very Catholic, while Pope not so much. Pope is less than 50% Catholic.
  8. Would have been fun to see this past year with a healthy Chris Parson.
  9. From my understanding, the football coach has not been named yet, just the AD.
  10. BA announced Jason Mathews (former Titans OL) as new AD.
  11. CPA visits Pope on 3/29..if I am not traveling I'll look for ya goofy
  12. With all the NIL, transfers and transfer portal discussions, today we get maybe the most purest form of football with the Army-Navy game. Go Navy, beat Army!
  13. Added a few thoughts... My favorite season as well BT28. Let me know if you make the trek to Pope as I still attend many ball games even though my kids have graduated. I am very good friends with the Lax family (Pope) and Chet is a gamer. He pitched a gem against CPA in the opener last year. Chet is also the kid that stepped into to play QB when Minchey got hurt. The middle region has 3 lefty studs in Green, Lax and Lim (MBA) who should win game 1 of each region series. Last year I thought MBA "threw off" and would pitch Lim in game 3. I think LA and CPA are the most talented and should finish 1 and 2, followed by Pope and MBA. After that I think it is a logjam. Ensworth has a few talented players however they always seem to lack pitching and depth in the lineup, which is surprising given Coach Maxwell is one of the bigger baseball names in middle TN. We should start a thread for D2-II over on the baseball board.

  15. Ray-Ray would know a thing or 2 about that.
  16. Couldn't you make the same case in the 49 other states and Washington DC?
  17. I did not realize the Alabasterans were missing players. Their defense was crazy good.
  18. LA '22 better than LA '21 correct? I only watched the Thompson game and it was easily the D that won the game for LA. I think LA '21 had a better offense - or maybe just at the RB and QB (Slightly) positions. So was it the D that made them so much better this year?
  19. Glad my lil green fella with the finger in the nose gets sarcasm. Often today’s yutes don’t understand the good to greats can play in any era as they would have access to the same training, weight room, diet, supplements, etc.
  20. But EHS you don't understand, the 3-4 current NFL players that graduated from BA would have a difficult time making the 2022 LA roster
  21. I am not saying anyone in 6A matches up or wins however I felt other teams competed better than Beech. Of the several Oakland games I watched this year, Oakland had a very good defense that was “bend don’t break”. Tonight there was no bend because, as someone mentioned, they “out physical-ed” Beech.
