I didn't see him staying long. People that have a clue can't be around Tate because it's a given you lose. Wish Barger well! We lost our head girls coach yesterday..oh this mountain.

Kudos to the coach for reporting this. In our town this was a 2-3 times thing a week. Our rug is real big though, so nothing was ever done.

I'm not sure it can be as bad as ours. It's a joke here.

I heard we lost a coach, but I wasn't sure which one. Even though Barger does seem to leave places...I do not blame him on this one. I watch the Dekalb game on GCTV and the body language with Tate and Barger seemed tense. I do not think a Grundy person can get the job done. People thought Tate could with doing so well with the Middle School program, but it ended up like I thought it would. Tate will feed his ego because he does not care about these kids. I had a family member play under him and the things that have happened under his care are sickening! More and more will leave because they see the success athletes that have left are getting to rightfully deserve. It is a shame our leaders here allow this below average to take place. That is where the bar is set though.

We are so poorly coached. Our kids have a slim chance with Tate in charge. We have fantastic kids, but zero structure. Preparation week in and week out is bad, bad, bad. Heard we are losing a coach effective soon. When will the powers in charge get a clue? Kids and adults leave because of one person. His ego is too big to just walk out and not ever set foot around our kids.

I've never mentioned a thing until now about transfers. I know several of our Grundy kids have gone there in football and basketball. I know a deal on basketball that was promised as I know the family. I'm not hating on y'all. You have a system in place to get these kids that keeps the coaches out of it..to a tiny extent.

This unofficial coach and his family are ruining Grundy as a whole.

Little league is more on his level, but we don't want the little ones learning bad habits.

I think it is going to take someone not from here to get us out of this "Tate hole." We have some good athletes and great ones have left us. Sure would be nice for all of them to have stayed and of course us have a different head coach.

Roy, I guarantee you us Grundy fellas would love a change here about every two years with this coach. I aint a joking either.

If you all are getting rid of your coaches--we will gladly take them at Grundy.

I think the coaches should be the one to look in the mirror. Jnutz doesn't't seem to have a problem with everyone either. I think it is safe to say that at least 85% of Grundy County KNOWS we could have a better program with Tate gone. Great players leaving and thriving when they leave because of coaches.

I didn't realize Tate had that much power for anyone to follow along with his witch hunt. I bet the Bryant's and their coaching staff can sit back and laugh. There hasn't been much of anything positive happen since they have been gone.

Exactly!!! Sad for the kids, but as savage posted things must change. The director of schools wasn't even certified...the school board at the time changed the qualifications so she could get it. It just all trickles down from there. Change will not happen until a new director is in place. Im not sure who all applied for the head job, but they had to be better. The people that hired Tate need to apologize to these kids for the embarrassment they have brought on. We have athletes, but the person leading don't have a clue. People in surrounding counties laugh over and over at us. It's gotten old and I'm just fed up, but NOBODY in charge will even listen.

After how the Bryant's were treated they shouldn't ever want to come back to coach...still confused as to why they were let go.

Yes, those were great times in Grundy. We got a state championship in girls basketball and we were respected in all sports. People would say I hate playing Grundy. Games were so fun and competitive then. I don't think Richards was ousted. He retired from teaching I know and I think left then as well. I've heard he is back coaching now or that's what the Herald said. The sports environment here is just totally different. I didn't like watching baseball this past year. Softball was ok to watch and football is just awful.

Now that would have been very good for our program with him leaving. He will have to leave on his own because they will not get rid of him. Shame on Ruehling for even hiring him. I believe Tate is on the sideline advising Butch tonight.
