  1. We (Huntingdon) had our spring early. Skill guys are solid but we graduated our line. We are hitting the weights hard and looking for them.
  2. Dresden refused to play the teams I mentioned. I know this for a fact. It's a shame the administration allowed a guy to schedule the teams he did and not play us or McKenzie.
  3. No comments from anyone is not surprising. Talented senior class that wins state then destroys property at the field soon after. Par for the course, pun intended. Refused to schedule Union City or us, Huntingdon. Congrats on a great year but they'll never be considered a serious program. Wouldn't play McKenzie either.
  4. How many players do they have practicing right now?
  5. With track and baseball going on at UC, how many do you guys have out for spring?
  6. Where is Swo? I'm interested in a report from UC? How's their spring? What's the forecast for next year?
  7. Why is no one mentioning Huntingdon? They have a ton of skill returning. In 14 and 15 they were beaten by the eventual champs and in 16 beat in a game with questionable officiating. I'm not saying they're the favorites but they'll have something to say about who comes out of the west.
  8. I wonder if Hodge has been contacted about returning
  9. Football is all about match ups. I feel certain that Union City would have won Region 6 last year. Peabody, for whatever reason, matched up well with Dresden and UC. The transitive property (they beat us by 10 and beat them by 35 so we're better than they are) does does work in football. Looking at schedules and scores is fun for Monday-Thursday. It has zero to do with Friday night. Bama struggled with UT Chatt today. Anyone picking them to lose to Auburn next week? So I disagree with you. Peabody and Dresden would not have finished 3 and 4. UC would have finished 1 and Peabody would have missed the playoffs.
  10. My apologies to Dresden for trolling. This is not about Trenton. I get irritated with 89's unnecessary and unprovoked comments to our program. Friday's game will be a dandy. No one should question the ability of either team. It'll come down to execution. I saw the Wayne County/Huntingdon game and the Dresden/Peabody game. This game is a complete toss up. Both have very capable athletes.
  11. Wildcat89... I'm beginning to take issue with your infatuation with Trenton. Including this year and 3 playoff wins, Wayne County has won 7 playoff games in the last 4 years. You need to focus on who you're playing, not a team you clearly know nothing about. Congrats on having a fine team this year. Our apologies to you from Trenton on fielding a young team this year. We sure are sorry we've let you down.
  12. Dresser scored final touchdown against Westview with 4:30 left in the game. You have been debunked on that one. As for Union City, you may be right. I am not on hudl. I found Westview touchdown by searching Gridiron Glory, the news that showed the highlights from the game.
  13. He played the whole game against Westview, Trenton, and UC. I was there. I understand the dilemma coach is in. You want to stay sharp. This is the risk. And when worst case scenario happens, here come the Monday morning quarterbacks.
  14. Peabody will be fine. When I was on the inside Coach Gaddis used to point at Coach Jacob and say he's going to be the future. My son would run through a wall for him. The Dresden game is the only game I've been to this year. So I can't speak to a whole lot except this. Dresden had multiple personal foul penalties and a player ejected. They were 5-5 before dresser came back. They have good talent this year. Trenton is built to last. Our community is more than satisfied with Coach Jacob.
  15. And this is why I know better than to post. I only enjoy reading because of responses such as these. Sir, I stand corrected. They are teenagers. Thank you for that correction. I'm certain Union City has the same need for the dozens of churches in the area just as we do. I'm too old to do this and I know better than to argue with anonymous people online. Best of luck to you and the tornados. God bless.
  16. Last post on this topic. It's obvious I'm going nowhere with this. UC is a fine program with outstanding coaches and players. There are a few of you guys that can't handle that loss so you want to act like you were so disrespected by our players embarrassing celebration in our locker room. We have apologized and graduated 24 kids from that team. You continuing to talk about it should be below people of such a high quality program. Again, please move on from that. It's the loss that bothers you. Quit pretending it's the celebration. Yalls celebration bothered me but I knew deep down I was only fueled by the loss. No revenge here. The team that beat you graduated. Learn how to lose with grace. Trust me, our coach has preached and preached on how to act win or lose since then. And if y'all win drop your grenade dance on us. I promise we will not be complaining about it 8 months from now.
  17. I thought we moved on from that. For 38 games Union City stood in the middle of the field and did some sort of grenade drop where everyone fell down. This was led by their coach. I never had a problem with it. I always thought the answer was find a way to beat them. Most people in most towns find that display classless and in poor taste. That was the whole team doing it and led by coaches. We had one kid who rubbed y'all the wrong way and y'all paint us as villains. I look forward to the competition. As for the other, move on. We have great kids in our program. Tread lightly when speaking of children.
  18. People in Trenton were sick after learning of the situation. We were certainly not proud. I'm not on the inside anymore but Coach Jacobs was there in 2012. I know him pretty well. I think he was in a tough spot with everything. Knowing him and reading the apology, I feel it was sincere and meant for everyone offended. I just hope this rivalry continues as two programs that respect each other, not two programs that hate each other. That's unhealthy and not the intention of high school football. If we are separated next year, I hope we can continue our game. It would be a shame if we didn't get to see it.
  19. I regret the "compliment" part of my post because I am the same way. My father, brother, and son played for Peabody. You should understand we are similar. We take a lot of pride in our school as well. The point is the fight happened...I saw it. I mentioned a young man's name earlier to let you know all programs have had similar players. We as adults should be prayerful that those kids turn from their ways. Not continue to talk about them, especially 3 months after they've graduated. I look forward to the game this year. Your guys will be ready as always. So will ours. It'll be a great atmosphere.
  20. My son was a senior that year for Peabody. I was feeding the team as our boys were getting on the bus when the fight broke out. No Peabody people spent a year talking about it. These are kids and I'm assuming y'all are grown men. Enjoy the banter with one another. But for crying out loud move on from that night. You don't even know what happened. And Swo, your "circling" of Peabody on your schedule is funny. I don't think your readiness for revenge will impact the game. I enjoy reading your acceptance of compliments on here as though you have something to do with it.
  21. Union City fans claiming your program is so perfect...tell me what K. Hyde is doing. moreover, 2012... Peabody Union City game. Peabody won. There were no less than 6 players for Union City involved in a huge fight with each other after the game outside of locker room. Zero players suspended. Tell me more about your perfect program. One troubled kid from Peabody and y'all sit on a high horse. Tread lightly.
