I'm taking Clinton by 2 TD's, supposedly we have a QB this year.

Ok Opie, will do. We did beat the Ridge in '71, so I'll keep that in my back pocket. But we all know the reason Clinton FB went down, and that is the emergence of AC, which basically drained half the talent away. Anyway, I just like good HS FB, glad the county is represented in the State finals, especially when UT is so bad this year.

You bet SS. I was Clinton '72, and had a lot of OR friends, played in the OR tennis leagues back in the day. My Dad took me to Blankenship for some big OR games in the mid-60's when Emmon Love played, so I appreciate the tradition. I keep up with OR FB way out here in San Diego, usually go to a game when I come back to Tenn with my OR buddies. This year not, because of Covid Enjoy your posts, good football talk-- cheers!

WTW & SS: thank you for commenting. It seems OR's front-7 is stellar, playing good team ball, closing the gaps, and penetrating the LOS. Tackling seems excellent, even so on the perimeter. That's good assignment FB and players' effort. Fun to watch. #2 looks like a MVP, supporting the run defense, playing centerfield against the pass, and a deep threat WR on offense. Looking forward to this game!

Can anybody comment on OR's defense and why it's so good? Watched a replay of SD, and for one, #28 DE, seems to be all over the place. Just interested in the game, I last saw OR win a state title in '78 or '79 in Jackson, TN I believe.

I liked that Rhea team from a few years ago with three 1K rushers, fun to watch...!

I think OR thought they had it won after Graham's 75yd TD early in the 3rd Q, and let up bigtime. Once they lost the momentum and their mindset, they couldn't get it back. That was the strangest game I ever heard on the radio. It was like Catholic turned into the NE Patriots after they were down 19pts.

Is Graham hurt? Only 7 yds on 5 carries...

Didn't that 2014 Rhea team have THREE 1,000 rushers, including the QB? That QB was one of the best option QB's I've seen in HS, great ball-skills.

Graham reminds me of Brandon James, ex-Florida return specialist, who ran a 10.43/100m. Yes, he can fly, fun to watch!

Tee was the least of your worries... Graham got 200+ yds rushing, and 100+ receiving!

My bad, my age is starting to show... anyway, enjoyed watching Rhea that year, beautiful execution on offense. Tee really had some great catches to get OR back in the game.

My take on the Rhea-OR game last year, was Rhea just had a superior offense. The Rhea QB was one of the best ball-handlers I've ever seen in HS, and their blocking schemes were crisp. I think Rhea had three 1,000yd-rushers for the season. Excellent team. I think made the state semi's. OR's passing QB was throwing high, and often had a guy in his face. But Tee made some great catches and brought OR back from a 21-0 deficit to tie it 21-21. Then Rhea's QB ripped off a 70-yd run and that was the ballgame.
