  1. They will be fine. Still the premiere program in this area, but they will still massively underachieve this year. Anything less than a gold ball with what they had coming back is a letdown.
  2. Again, not sure of his history or issues. His talent is undeniable. Sometimes cutting one loose will pull a team together. As I have said, TC’s defense is good enough to beat anyone in 2A. Offensively, they are very vanilla and not very explosive against good competition. That may change when 8 comes back, but if Ford hadn’t played against Watertown, TC loses by 21. If he is willing to move, I am sure we can find a spot for him in Macon and he can pick what position he wants to play.
  3. LOL! Ford is on a completely different level from either of those kids. He did fumble against Watertown, but anyone there will verify he is the real deal with the ball in his hands and getting north/South. They beat Watertown if they stay in the I Formation all night and feed #2 the ball. Not sure why he got kicked off, but I can’t imagine it’s any worse than what 8 did to get suspended for 7 games. TC is falling apart the closer we get to the playoffs. I thought they were hands down the favorite to win the gold ball in 2A. Now I don’t think they make the semifinals.
  4. If TC can throw he ball effectively, they can win by 4-5 TD’s. If they have to solely rely on the run game, Westy will keep this close. Their LB’s are tough and great tacklers. TC will not line up and cram it down their throats for 32 minutes. If Ford is really out and 8 doesn’t play, TC is not explosive enough to blow anyone worth a durn out.
  5. I will give you 2-1, but not 3-0. I think we are better than Smith. Westmoreland beats us regardless. We have nothing for number 44 period. Macon will win next week and will most likely beat Dekalb. After that, I just don’t know that we have any other wins on the schedule. I could see us playing Portland and Stone close, but we will need a couple of breaks to win those. The O-Line looked much better Friday, but I am not sure if that was us playing better or Heritage being that awful. I am leaning towards the latter on that. If they can replicate that every week, we could surprise some folks.
  6. I stand corrected. I hope MC wins every game, but the fact is 3-4 wins is the ceiling. I hope he has some hot sauce, as I hear chipmunk meat is pretty bland.
  7. I think you may be wrong on this. Geo said 3-4 wins. Macon will be 2-2 after next week and have a couple more winnable games on their schedule. I think Macon beats Dekalb at the very least to get to 3 wins and save Geo from eating a chipmunk.
  8. Macon up 14-7 and driving. MC should blow Heritage out. They are the least physical team I have ever seen at this level. If Macon loses this game, Geo will eat a chipmunk on Facebook Live.
  9. I will agree with Volstate on this one. Creasy won at TC with Satterfield’s kids. Once he had a team full of kids only he had coached, the drop off was resounding. He left town for greener pastures and has choked every year in the playoffs with much better talent. I think he is a good coach, but not what he had been made out to be. If he doesn’t win it all with this year’s team, I would probably be looking for a new head coach if I were Oakland’s principal.
  10. No need to elaborate. If you can’t watch that game and come away with the same conclusion, you are either blind or looking through purple and gold glasses. The pro style set with the I formation was there ALL NIGHT. Drive the ball down the field then go back to spread when you get to the thirty. The passing game has no imagination. How about a screeen pass to help your QB out. Watertown has their ears pinned back and TC done nothing to help slow them down. Yes, if TC holds on to the ball they still win. That was in spite of the pitiful play calling. TC will win the next matchup, but should have won this one With a competent OC.
  11. Trousdale’s OC should be arrested for child abandonment tonight. Not sure if he is here or if they are letting a pee wee coach call the offensive plays. Defense has done enough to keep Watertown at bay, but the offensive coordinator is clearly not prepared for a game of this magnitude.
  12. Not sure that they beat themselves. Hard to say that when the opening kickoff of the year we had to run someone on the field last minute to have 11 players. Knew then we were in trouble, if you cant have 11 coming onto field to start the game thats all I need to know.
  13. It is a big statement, but I have no doubt it is true. I have seen these TC kids play many times. They are very talented. I have had a few family members play there as well, so I am very familiar with the program. They had a different mindset about football 10-15 years ago. I feel that this year's group is just as talented, if not more talented than some other teams that have won it all for TC. If this year's group plays with the heart that TC teams of old did, then they will be right there at the end of the year. I saw a TC team lay down last year against Macon. That would have never happened if Clint or Creasy were coaching. I will not blame Waggoner either, as that mentality has developed over the last 4-5 years. I will not necessarily blame any coaching staff at all, as I believe the kids in TC have just changed and gotten softer than they were 10-15 years ago. The only question is, can Waggoner get them back to playing with that edge that used to separate TC from everybody else? I pull for TC unless they are playing Macon, so I hope they get back to that level. I would be lying if I didn't say I had my doubts.
  14. You need to come to more Macon games. That happens after every game, losses included. I really don't understand it myself. They do it at visiting stadiums as well. A couple of years ago, someone turned out the lights at the stadium to get them off the field. TC is the prohibitive favorite in the East, no doubt about it. TC has the athletes to win 2A, but do they have the heart? I think that is the only real difference between kids nowadays and 15-20 years ago. I will say this, Clint Satterfield and Kevin Creasy both win 2A with this team.
  15. Super bowl win for Macon? They have beat you the last two times they played you and it would be 4 in a row had you not dodged us. Again student population has very little bearing on football anymore. It was a great indicator 30 years ago when kids actually cared about sports and a school with 1000 kids had 80-100 out. Nowadays, programs that are not "football schools" struggle to have 30 kids. TC kids are taught growing up that you play football. That is not the case in other communities. Heck, even some other "football schools" (Smith County) are now struggling to have players. The whole concussion phenomenon along with technology has ruined the sport. I will say this, if TC doesn't win 2A this year a new coach should be on the horizon.
  16. If that is true, then you will prove all of us wrong. I will stick with my opinion for now, Macon and Cumberland are the two teams representing Region 4 in the substate next year. That is just due to experience and maturity. I suspect neither will want to see Upperman in a Regional semifinal game by that time of year in 2019, especially if the younger Levy is that good. I have not seen her play and didn't see Akira play in Jr. High, so we will see this time next year.
  17. I do not take much from Jr. High Basketball. You even mentioned that earlier when saying not to judge the younger Levy off Jr. High... I saw all four Macon losses and will say again, it would most likely be 4 Macon wins without Levy. She completely changes a team's game plan and makes every one of her teammates better. I assure you Upperman has a very talented team, but take Levy off and you are just like everyone else in AA and probably not as good as Macon or Cumberland. That is judging off what I have seen in high school and not Jr. High. Again, not a knock at any Upperman players, but Levy is that special. Upperman definitely could prove me wrong, as girls do get better from year to year. I am solely judging off what I saw this year.
  18. You are crazy. Who do you think made them get open looks? I will give you hint, she will not be back next year. NOBODY has come into a game this year looking to stop the younger Hurst or Brooks. Both are good players and will be a force in the coming years, however neither will ever be what Levy is. Take Levy off your team and Macon wins the district this year. That is not a knock on any Upperman players, Levy is just that good.
  19. I think Upperman will be good next year too, just not seasoned enough to beat Macon or Cumberland. You must be watching a different Macon team than I have. I have watched them play 20 times this year and they will not miss Bullington much other than depth. King is better right now IMO...
  20. LOL! If anyone can honestly get on here and say Upperman will be anything close next year to what they are this year is kidding themselves. Upperman has some nice players and they will be a strong team, but take Levy and older Hurst off this year's team and you finish in the middle of the pack in this district. There is no comparing what Upperman's young girls and what Macon's young girls contribute each night. Macon's team runs through a sophomore and a freshman. Upperman's team runs through two girls that will not be back next year.
  21. I think he means 2nd through 4th place. I think 2nd or 3rd is more likely depending on how the young girls adjust to the HS game. Macon has everything back for 2 years with the exception of Bullington who graduates.
  22. I agree. Upperman will fall off next year, but will still compete for the 2 spot in the district. I think Macon and Cumberland will be the representatives from Region 4 in the substate, barring any upsets. I look for Upperman to return to the substate in 2020. If Macon can stay healthy, they may win two championships in a row like Upperman is about to do...
  23. The edit makes the post make sense now. No worries. Unfortunately for Meigs, they have little chance at Upperman. I can't stand Upperman, so I will be pulling for Meigs but the deck is definitely stacked against you all. If you can slow down Levy and Hurst, you have a chance. That is easier said than done.
  24. You play Macon not Meigs. If depth is an issue, that could be a problem. Macon will look to push the tempo. Macon's guard play is strong, if McMinn presses the entire game, Macon will make them pay. Macon has 1 senior and no juniors on the team, so they will be around for years to come. Macon came to Central last year and pulled the upset. I think this year Macon may be a slight favorite. With that being said, it is hard to win on the road in substate games. I will go with McMinn by 3, as they seem to be playing their best ball right now.
  25. Big game tonight, as Macon travels to Upperman looking for a share of the district crown. Macon has the firepower to play with Upperman and I do think they can beat them, but not on Upperman's home floor. I look for a score of 68-58 in Upperman's favor. I am eager to see if Macon can make some adjustments come district tournament time and give Upperman a run on a neutral court.
