  1. have you seen the size of the backs and linemen for the tide? When 4 of your 5 guys are 250 and at any given moment a back carrying the ball 200+ you're gonna be a pound it style of offense. When we stop shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties, mental errors, and fumbles we'll be fine. We don't have the speed to take the top off of defenses this year, we have to drive the ball and limit mistakes. We'll be fine, so stick to eating your popcorn and talking about the good ole days in the stands and let the coaches coach.
  2. I've kept quiet all week, but I think win or lose a glaring weak spot will get exposed this coming week. From what I've seen and heard the Lion's line leaves a lot to be desired. Many are comparing them to the Humboldt of a few years ago with all the athletes you can wish for, but little to no line play. You can jump on me all you want now, but mark my words if the Dresden offensive line doesn't pick it up, there are gonna be a lot of shocked crying faces come November.
  3. Trenton and Milan are historically a big rivalry. In recent memory the Humboldt Milan game hasn't been a good one. I think it was a matter of maybe Milan not playing as hard as they did before.
  4. It seems I under estimated how ugly it'd get. The vikes had no luck on offense what so ever against the tide defense. it took starting at the 2 and a pick six for them to get their two scores. Peabody still needs to grow, they should've scored a few more times in my opinion. The game probably should have been around a 55 point game.
  5. Union City played their starters the entire game. Peabody had 265 first half yards on the best defense in the region, if it hadn't been for mistake a young team makes they should probably of scored 35. So you're telling me you think Humboldt can hold Peabody to 14? I believe you're sadly mistaken.
  6. Call me biased, but I'll take the tide by 3 TDs. I think they'll run it down their throat and make them like it.
  7. We replaced nearly every starter. We returned 4 guys that played meaningful snaps on the offensive line and our tight end and a corner. Peabody is a different kind of football team, we lack the speed we've had in the past. With such a young team we've had a lot of mental errors occur during the first three games which you would expect. I think it's a little too early to tell just how good this team can be, speed will give them a problem all year but physically they should match up with just about anyone. Give this team time to develop and then we can see truly how good they are.
  8. South Fulton's linemen though, if we're all going to be honest are not very good. They may have been big, but you must take into consideration hips, pad level, and when it comes down to it plain out nastiness. If you play soft it doesn't matter how big you are, which was the case with South Fulton I do believe.
  9. After watching Friday's game, if you're a Peabody fan and you paid close attention you should probably feel a little more at ease. Overall the team played well, they had I believe 413 total yards on the night against one of the best teams in the state. Peabody is a young team and they did what young teams do, they made simple mental errors that resulted in turn overs and penalties and big plays being busted. Physically it was all there. I saw a lot of growing up on that Peabody team done Friday night. With all that being said I think the Tide takes this one. Yes Humboldt has a plethora of athletic ability, but they just lack the line play to win the game. I don't think their offensive and defensive lines stand too much of a chance against those big lineman from Trenton. I'm going with Peabody by 21.
