Dyersburg won the state title last year and only graduated one role player. White County lost in the sectional last year and lost Miss Basketball. As usual, White Co will be really good but to call them the best team in 3A feels disrespectful to Dyersburg. I expect Upperman, White Co, Dyersburg and South Side to all be in Murfreesboro in March.

I don’t think the radio argument stands up. Radio is a very different experience than live stream.

I don’t comment on football boards very often; more of a basketball guy. But this is an interesting topic. I think a school charging a fee to livestream is reasonable. Obviously, that would also depend on how big a fee we’re talking about. Completely denying access is crazy but a fee to make up for lost gate revenue seems reasonable

Open enrollment doesn’t really matter in this case. Only way the kid gets eligible is if the whole family moves to Loretto with a true change of address or if dad goes to work at Loretto. Dad has been a coach a long time. He knows the rules. He’ll make sure it happens legally. Assuming he gets eligible, Loretto is a legit threat to win state titles in baseball and basketball.

I watched games over there Monday and Tuesday. USJ - Ayers is incredible; the rest of the team is okay, they play hard; no size other than Ayers; they will miss the red head from last year but Ayers may be enough to win another title Wayne Co - Baugus is really good; they have three other good players and their size will bother people; guard play is down from past years; still a contender Richland - surprise of the week for me; they had the best PG at the camp - blonde junior, not sure of name - she was impressive; Higgins can flat shoot it; this could be a state tournament team South Gibson - still not healthy; played most of the minutes with four freshmen, 1 sophomore, 1 junior; played well at times and struggled at times - looked young; if their injured girls come back healthy, they will be dangerous Franklin Road Academy - got a couple guards that I really liked, no post play but well coached and competitive Lawrence Co - they’re not very good; have a young post that played physical but not skilled; played tough against Wayne Co for a half then got blown out by South Gibson Hickman Co - got a transfer guard that can play; played hard; I liked them - sleeper pick to win their district Cascade - competitive; young coach that girls seemed to respond to well; Harpeth - not very good Gleason - not very good but they beat other bad teams because they are well coached Lewis Co - new coach trying to rebuild, not good; couple kids that might be decent with some work Hampshire - really bad

I’m going to Wayne Co next couple days. Should get to see several teams. USJ, South Gibson, Wayne Co usually there

Dyersburg and South Side can book rooms in Murfreesboro. They will be there. I think South Gibson is probably there again. Creek Wood should be there. Upperman and White Co will battle for that region title to avoid going to Heritage for sectional.

Dyersburg returns every major piece. Heavy favorite in 3A

If this is true, South Gibson is taking a big chance. Passing on an experienced coach for a guy who has never coached at the high school level is a high risk move, especially in that district and region.

Best jobs still open are Ensworth and Rockvale. Surprised Rockvale is not filled yet. No idea what Ensworth might do - they’ll have a lot of interest based on pay and potential

I had not heard that rumor. I thought he was supposed to have some really good talent coming through Page in the next few years

That’s not surprising. He was never going to stay there (or anywhere else) for long.

I’ve seen multiple posts about this job. Are we sure it’s open? They had a pretty good year, especially considering their best player was hurt until late in the season. Coach took them to a sectional game.

I figure it looks a lot like this year. Upperman and White Co will be state title contenders. Livingston and Cumberland will be dangerous, but not as good as Upperman and White. Not sure what Stone loses but they will be competitive. DeKalb will be below average.

Green Hill boys job is open. I don't believe the girls job will be coming open there.
