  1. I will preface this by saying I have no relationship whatsoever with Coach Bradley and don’t really know much about what’s going on in the east side of the state. But it would not surprise me if he is trying to get out. When he was at USJ, I started hearing rumors that he was looking to get out just a couple of weeks into the season. Whenever I said something on here I kept being told how wrong I was by USJ people but it ended up being the case. If he is indeed looking to get out at GCA, it almost seems like he is looking for something very specific in a job and when he doesn’t find it he looks to go elsewhere. Again, I do not know him and that’s just complete speculation on my part. This score shocked me, I thought they were going to have a good team this year that would compete with ND for that region title.
  2. Pearl Cohn wins this one, and I personally don’t think it will be all that close. Wimberly will do well at Cordova, but they are a year or two away from causing some serious damage statewide.
  3. Germantown actually had a chance to be leading going into half. Threw a pick that Lausanne capitalized on with just a couple minutes left in the half. Then Lausanne got the ball and scored first play of the half and put it on them in the 3rd quarter. Fun game to watch as a Lynx fan! I’d love to see these two play, but I’m not so sure that MUS isn’t the best team in the area this season.
  4. I don’t think Germantown wanted to schedule Lausanne again after they put it on them a couple years ago. I would also love to see that game this year.
  5. Not disagreeing at all with what you say about Coach Saulsberry because he clearly does a great job getting his student athletes to the next level. However, I strongly disagree with what you said about the Lausanne coaching staff not having that “system” in place. They do not send the same amount of numbers as Whitehaven to the next level, but they also don’t have nearly the same amount of players. That coaching staff works tirelessly getting their athletes recruited and currently has former players playing at all levels (FBS, FCS, D2, D3). This senior class my very well have 11 or more signees out of a 14 or 15 person class. Again, Coach Saulsberry does a great job, but he is not the only one who does it.
  6. Great thing is it will all play out in the end and unlike college football, these polls mean absolutely nothing thankfully.... but it does give us something to talk about until playoffs lol. I will say I think it’s worth a deeper dive than just seeing what spot teams fell to. If I’m not mistaken, Maryville was the unanimous choice as #1 last week and only received 6 out of 16 first place votes this week. I haven’t taken the time to look, but I’d be curious to see if both teams dropped around the same number of “points” in the polls
  7. I heard the that Shelby County Schools live streamed the game. Anyone know if there’s a place to re-watch?
  8. I will say, I agree with most of what has been said. I don’t think Lausanne wins 7-8 out of 10, I think they win 5-6, so almost a push with them being the slightly better overall team. Obviously injuries to Whitehaven played a big role (I didn’t realize McBride was out. Didn’t he come back the week before?) I think if those two play on that particular night, Whitehaven gets the win. However, I don’t think Lausanne played their best at all. Very hard to beat a team like Whitehaven with 3 turnovers, 2 of which were not forced (the punt and interception.) The forced fumble was a great play by that LB, couldn’t tell which one it was. But overall, I think both teams made some great plays and some I’m sure they wish they could have back and it resulted in a great game between two fairly evenly matched teams. To answer TraderB’s question about the 2 big fellas up front: #75 is a senior with multiple D1-AA offers and some D1-A watching closely to see how this season plays out. Hasn’t committed anywhere to my knowledge. #68 is a junior but I’m not sure where is recruitment stands right now. He was one of the few kids from last years team that was ineligible most of the season due to their co-op being changed.
  9. If Alcoa weren’t in 3A, I think Covington would be the state favorites in that division. You’re probably right about Fairley. I couldn’t come up a 10th, so really just went with a “dark horse”. I do think they will make some noise in 2A, but top 10 in the city is probably a stretch. If I was able to dive down south a bit, I’d have put Olive Branch in somewhere lol
  10. 1. Lausanne 2. MUS 3. Whitehaven 4. Germantown 5. Covington 6. CBHS 7. Central 8. Briarcrest 9. Houston 10. Fairley
  11. Haven’t seen officially, but heard he broke 250. It was tough sledding against that D. May have had 40+ carries
  12. Wow what a game. Lived up to the hype and then some. Whitehaven is a great team and a force to be reckoned with in 6A. I was hoping it went to multiple OTs so it didn’t have to end. Congrats to the Lynx!
  13. They’ve even stout so far, but haven’t seen anything like they will this week. Don’t think they are as good up front as they have been but the LBs are very good and they have safeties that aren’t afraid to get involved in the run game
  14. Wow, obviously I know how good that defense has been but that’s amazing. 6 YEARS?!?! Maybe Eric Gray and the Lynx can make some more history come Friday night. I can’t wait for this game. Wish it were Friday!
  15. I do believe Lausanne is ready to throw it when they have to this year. They return the QB and many receivers. QB Sky Forrest has been very efficient this far this season, though I’m sure the holes is the defense won’t be as open as they have been in the first 2 games. Just out of curiosity, do you know the last back to rush for over 100 against Whitehaven?
  16. Word that but I’m hearing is Rhodes double booked their facilities. Not sure how that happens, but at least this happened on Monday rather than Wednesday I guess.
  17. Both teams want to run the ball and I think both will have success. Having McBride back for Whitehaven will be huge. If they are able to handle the Lausanne D line and get to the LBs, it may be a long night for the Lynx. However, if the D line is able to keep the Whitehaven OL away from their backers, they won’t have as much success. Middle linebacker Yusef Thomas is maybe the most underrated LB in the city. I think Lausanne will have more success running than they did last year. They have looked good this year (against inferior competition obviously). They returned 3 starters from last year and Eric Gray has put on 10-15 pounds of muscle and gotten faster. Missing Bryson Eason (if he doesn’t suit up) may end up being the difference in the game. I hate to see injuries, especially with a big game like this.
