The thing about player awards as we all remember Peyton Manning getting the short end,is that it's never a perfect system.Got to figure how long each player played and who they played against and still it comes down to the vote.

I have never been able to spell and have always just accepted it as fact.Now, I can add one plus one pretty good.That came in pretty good over the years and the spelling hasn't really been a problem.I could use spell check but then folks wouldn't have any thing to correct me on.

4.3 is awesome and 27 is more then enough for a young man that will get a ride.Now,if you have a kid that is in high school and isn't going to play sports at the next level and are going to college in a year or two .If you want to save some money.Make them take the ACT until they get a 30.

Not read through most of this,I'd say it wll go around a few hundred times and come back to the same place by Friday.That place is two very good teams that are capable of beating each other.Would any of you like to bet and give say 14 points either way.If so,you will probably lose your money.Turnovers,penalties,a questionable call or two and either team can be beat.I hope its a very good game and the home team has the most points when its over.From what I have seen,both are loaded and can score on anyone and that spells trouble for both defenses. Hope the Devils can make a few more stops.

I'd have to say in this bracket setup the Maryville vs Oakland rematch would be the odds on favorite to win it all and that matchup can very well happen next week.

This should be a great game.One thing the winner of this game needs to remember.This game only wins you another round and nothing more.If your a player for either team, the best advice anyone can give you is work hard this week and don't read any of this crap or anything in a paper or watch any news what so ever.Have your parents record it and play it back after your team is done.I work with a young man that went to the state semi finals several years ago for another team and he just ask me the other day if I could show him some old coacht stuff because he had never seen it .I looked it up and thank goodness I was nice towards his school .Sometimes I get reminded by football parents of less successful football teams,that their kids are not as lucky as many others and have feelings just like those playing on the best teams.We Devil fans are very lucky and have to remember when we leave the area as the only representatives of NET,that other schools and fans from this area are also represented by the Devils.Our team from the coaches to every player has a lot of class and win or lose,these guys will shake hands and either take a loss or a win like a man should.Go Devils !

Always , that is my first thoughts When it comes to football.I went though it as a football parent and never want to see a young man for any team down on the field.Unless you have had one out there ,it's just hard to explain.I was there as a player and it doesnt come close to being the same.So,I hope all the parents of players can go home Friday night knowing their son is just fine because football is very important to us all but in the long run,it's still just a game.

Great job on the vid brother.The thing I liked the most was when you said Greeneville was going for their 3rd title and didn't know or care about AC's past championships.Most people would have taken the extra 10 or 15 minutes to look it up but that was perfect.You don't get that kind of honest stuff with our political leaders or major news sources.Plus , it was funny as hail to me because I would have not taken the time to look it up either.Hope all goes well and I can get down there early for the game to see you.

Awesome run ! That young man is a player.I like the way at the end of the run he could have possibly ran around the defender and scored but decided to run over him instead.Tough young man.

Both teams have some very nice fans and I hope the winner of this matchup can bring back a gold ball. Yes it will take a great game for BC to win but nothing is a given at this point.I met a great couple from BC last night who had a girl that played basketball for Pat at UT a few years ago.I can't wish bad for folks like that and those nice parents that sat in front of them.Thats why I like to sit with the visitors and meet great people from other areas.Now,Maryville has some of the best people in the world to sit with and I was in hopes that would happen next Friday but I've got to go watch my Devils now.Hope there are no injuries and you have a great game next week.

This is about all that anyone needs to say at this point.If you don't play a good game or make mistakes,you can be beat.That includes the Devils or Stars Maryville team.AC will be a tough game for the Devils in my opinion and I'm not coming down to Greeneville expecting my Devils to blow AC out but hope the Devils can win by atleast one point and advance.I don't care what the margin is,just as long as the results is a victory.One thing that seperates great programs like Maryville,Alcoa and now Greeneville is that they may get beat by a better team but the chances of them beating themselves is much less then other east Tennessee teams.That all starts with coaching and Greeneville has the best staff without a question in NET,thats why they are the lone team left standing.Now AC didn't get to be 12-0 and beat a very good Elizabethton team without having a good coach and players.I'm not checking this game as a win like the first couple rounds until the game is over.The young Devils need to work hard and remember a championship will be earned and nobody will just show up and hand them the win before it starts from this friday until the final playoff game.Go Devils !!

I just bring my own style to coacht.If I had been living in Greeneville instead of Kingsport the last few years and my kids had been Devils.People would have probably wished devilman03 could calm me down a little bit.It really gets personal when you have kids playing .As a former Devil,I really appreciate the Job coach Ballard does and after seeing the BS up here in Kingsport for several years, I'm very happy to enjoy what every Devil season brings.I can't imagine how excited other NET fans would be to get a taste of the Devil success for their own school and it's very understandable for people to go over the top with excitement.I can't imagine how big headed any of us in NET would be to have a program like Maryville or Alcoa.My hats off to those fans for being as self controlled as they are.

You guys must have played very well last night.Talked to some nice BC fans last night and they know it will take a great effort to beat you guys.Best of luck next week.

The biggest question I would have ask 4 hours ago if I'd known this would be the matchup is this.Will there be a combined 150 next week.I would have thought it possible but now that AC won by a nice amount over Betsy,I'll just say 75.Before folks start talking this defense or that,I'm not talking about points,I'm talking about pages for this thread.

Don't hang your heads Tribe,you played a great game.Man,some of you had an all world game and gave it all you had.Best wishes to all you seniors as you go forward .I've really enjoyed watching you guys from the time you were little kids until tonight and hope you have long and successful lives.

To be honest,when I vote it's for the best man or woman I think will do the Job .I've just never found a Democrat running for president that I could vote for.I voted for a former democrat in Ronald Reagan .Had Somebody like our VP ran as an independent,I would have picked them over DT or HC.So for me it came down to Somebody who had supported the Clintons at one time or a straight up Clinton that I liked less then her husband.I looked at the VPs and couldn't help but look at the first lady's as well.That was the difference for me.Even though I never liked the Donald that much,I like the man he picked for VP.For God's sake ,I'd rather see our first lady on tv as Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton any time.That said,she probably would have divorced him if she had won and made atleast one major supporting group within the Democratic party very proud with her next spouse. Live and let live . I have no problem with "MOST" anyone's religion,race ,sexual preferences or anyone that is different from me because I have friends and family members that I care about whatever their deal.However,some of this transgender shet or dudes saying they are and what public bathroom our wife and daughters will have to share everywhere in the future, is just another part of why I stay as close to my old ways as I can.

Their coach turning the passing game loose would be my biggest worry for the Rebs or DB in a rematch.

If either one of you that wins in a few hours can come to Greeneville and beat my Devils.My hats off and I'll pull for you to win it all just like I did that bunch last year after the hail mary.I believe the Devils should go deep and hope all the way. I don't talk a lot of talk but expect the Devils to win atleast 3 to 5 playoff games this year.I hope your game is a safe one and the winner comes to Greeneville injury free { IF } the Devils take care of their own business in round 2.

Yes ,Nomatter if it's Dobyns Bennett,Sullivan North ,Greeneville or any local team that's playing.Go see somebody.If Greeneville and DB were not playing,I'd darn sure go watch North Friday night .

Their election a day or two ago has really made for some good fun at work.I think southwest Virgina is ready to make it's own state.

Unless its in the 30s and raining like the playoff game at SH a few years ago,these kids are young and full of pizz and vinegar,They have cold gear and gloves .I don't think either team should cry after the game because both will pass the ball even if the run isn't being stopped.Us older folks are the ones to worry about .I've done preached to my family and friends about how cold it's going to be and if they can't put on gloves or plenty of clothes then they will just be cold.I'm considering my insulated bibs.Either way,if I go out there and some stupid shet gets those kids I've watched for years beat,besides the depth and strength that has already been taken away,I won't be cold.

Your correct,In a 3 man front, the key is for those 3 guys to make the play.Now making the play doesn't always mean making the tackle.Those guys have to open it up for the backers to fill and if the DB O- line can handle their man without a double team,then it's a long night for your defense.If you have fast outside guys that can get around the DB tackles then DB has to do what they do best and hit it straight up the middle.Should be fun to watch

Ooltewah had some tough backers as well.I think their numbers were 1 and maybe 45 or 40 something.Any way they both were hitters.Almost forgot.The one thing this class has lost was their depth at line ,most noticeably the defensive front.One of the 5 no longer there was almost exactly the size of #31 and the D1 talent possiblity.Can you imagine a front that would push the DB ofensive line in practice every day,well that's what is missing.Instead of 77 having to go both ways,he could be more rested and play one side or the other.Along with the stud backers , that front would have been hail and a huge help to the defensive backs .I don't care who the defensive backs are if a QB has an extra few seconds,they are in trouble but if a base front is getting after him,every thing swings in favor of the defense.You can't just blame a coach or two on this because kids do what they will,but all I'll say is it could have been prevented and this team should be even deeper and stronger.I like the offense if it can stay healthy to score with anyone.If DB can play with Alcoa and Greeneville,then they can beat anyone at home.Tribe 38-28 should be a given in my opinion for whatever team steps in front of them.This week it's BC...38-28 DB
